Now I love this card, but if you normally play with the same groups of people, eventually you're going to know pretty well what's in everyones decks. At the point where you're familiar with what cards are in peoples decks, do you find that it's an unfair card to use it against them?

I would think of it more mean then unfair.
Actually playing that kind of card in a small play group encourages deck editing, and critiquing.

well, in this instance mean and unfair are about the same thing.
If I'm playing against say my friend chris and he's using a deck of his that I know has 4 Avatars of Woe in there, I can just for 4 mana debilitate his deck all because I already knew what was there. Of course you can precurse the use of the card with other cards that let you search their deck for something and then have an idea of whats in there.

Well it's a state of meanness before you make it unfair by only choosing single targets and not spicing it up a bit.
Heh, that reminds me of my 'Extract' deck. It's just a ton of mill, search, and remove cards like Cranial Extraction, Extract, Extirpate, and mill cards such as Raven Guild Master, and then all in one cards like Shimian Specter. biggrin

Well, even in tournament, you can pretty much guess what people are running in their decks. Most tourneys I go to consist of about 75-80% Netdeckers that all use slight variations of the same 2-3 decks.

It makes for a unfun game for sure. (Well, after 5-6 games of nothing but second turn Cranial Extractions)
That now depends on how your opponent reacts to that kind of situation, he may either prepare against your strategy or just not play against you.
But I wouldn't be suprise if something like that was played against me, it is a good strategy afterall.
