Endless flopped down in the shade of a tree, his starry pelt sparkling in spite of his dour mood. Why was he out here again? Oh... right. The others said it would be good for him to get out of the house for a while. Okay. Get out and do what? He didn't want to go to HQ... oh no. Too many people there. Too many memories he wasn't ready to dredge through. Same for Trel's house. And where else did he really have to go besides... nowhere?
He was more and more tempted to head out in search of his lost siblings but... every time he started to make plans for it he had the dream about being swallowed by darkness. And somehow that was worse even than enduring this feeling that his soul had be torn apart and very badly patched back together again.
It was a mild afternoon, though. The sky was partly cloudy, and it was just dim enough under the shade of the tree for it to be comfortable. He knew he'd been sleeping too much... and yet he was still tempted to nap here. His dreams on the nights when he didn't dream of the darkness were happy and wonderful. When he was asleep he could forget the heartache for a little while...
But dreaming wouldn't actually fix anything and it was only hurting the other people he cared about. He sighed. Sometimes he almost longed for the time before he settled down here when he was on his own and he didn't have to worry about anyone but himself...

So, this was the Realm? Not too drastic a change, still, it was a whole new terrain to be wary of. Setsu gazed tiredlessly across the wooded land, perched securely on a low tree branch. At the very least, these lands were without the steep slopes of Mountain; a much easier place to adjust to this body.
Seeing nothing of threat or interest, Setsu frowned to herself. No point in remaining idle any longer. With a push, she slid off the branch and landed tensely on her two back legs. Ah, much better than before. With tails spread behind, she stood as tall as she could and treaded aimlessly through the woods. No, not aimlessly. She knew what she seeked, just didn't know if it was even possible in this world.
Her pale ears, cold from no blood flow, twitched every so often.....listening for an enemy. But these woods held no such dangers. Her only company was the songs of birds overhead and crunching leaves undertoe. Mismatched eyes continued their bored watch, before they spotted something new. Halting, Setsu uptilted her chin to peer at the dark mass. Another kitsusagi? Seemed so, but the first she had seen without any attire. The other was some trees away, still and quiet. She stood silently, like a cold void in the otherwise thriving woods.

Endless opened his softly glowing eyes after a long moment and let them rove around. With how quiet it was he expected to see nothing more than grass and trees and shrubbery but... there was something else...
Someone else. Someone that seemed vaguely familiar for a reason he couldn't identify, because he knew he hadn't seen her before. He remembered faces, if not always names. He lifted his head, and his ears, for a moment looking almost hopeful, not quite hopeful, not quite daring to hope that maybe somehow this could help him...
But then his ears dropped, and he sagged downward, though his head remained raised. His luminous eyes dimmed as the brief spark of almost hope drifted back into a murk of uncertain pain. How could anything help? And why would a complete stranger even bother to take notice? Perhaps it would be better just to go back to sleep... for a few years, maybe...
He didn't want to feel this sad. He wanted to be strong and feel better and be able to be normal again for himself and his family but... it just wasn't in him to do that no matter how much he wanted it. At least not yet... and the wait to see if things would change seemed interminable.

Two pale eyes had glanced up from the dark kitsusagi, and Setsu merely stared back at the other. She may be dead, but it hadn't been so long that she couldn't recall expressions. She raised a brow at his eager and hopeful eyes. As if he was waiting for someone to arrive or something to occur. But that was soon drowned with disappointment. Setsu gazed with blank orbs at the male, almost waiting for more to happen.
Nothing. How depressing. The cloaked kitsusagi scoffed to herself, before turning her head forward once more. She was no saint, and if the other was withering in his own pains, that was his choice. She wasn't here to alter the paths of others. Advice, perhaps, but she had no motivation to do so. Heh, she had recieved no advice since entering this world and was getting along decently. She did one more take on the dark kitsusagi, finding no bloody injuries or symptoms of physical ache. Just.....emotional ache. "Pathetic." It was an under-breath whisper, almost annoyed at the discovered fact.
Her scaled tails curled in aggitation, bored with sitting still. Giving them some acknowledgement, Setsu complied and decided to continue forward. Booted paws once more crunched aimlessly along dead leaves.

Quiet as that one word was it drifted across the distance to settle in Endless' ears like an angry bee. Pathetic. Maybe he'd felt it more than heard it... but really... it was true, wasn't it? What was he doing?
What was it Valefor had said when he'd asked her how she dealt with the pain of the situation with Aear? "I can either dwell on the pain or I can live my life... I've had enough of living in the past, so I choose to press on. I won't say it will be easy..." ...Perhaps he should follow her example.
He lifted himself up heavily, though he did perhaps feel a bit lighter than a moment ago... Or was the weight entire his imagination? He probably weighed a lot less than he had a few weeks ago. He hadn't been eating as much as he should.
Quietly he padded after the kitsu walking on her hind feet, still wondering why she seemed familiar. Had he heard about her, perhaps? It was the only thing he could think of. Say something... he needed to say something. "Are you looking for something?" His voice sounded strange, less because of the thinly healed emotions beneath it than the fact that he hadn't spoken that many words in a row or that loudly for about as long as he'd been neglecting to eat.

Once bored with one thing, Setsu's senses took control and alertness. The small wildlife of the woods continued its business, unbothered by the kitsusagi. All the plants seemed to vibrate with life, so much so that it was unseen and still to the eye. The female kitsusagi took all this in, despite her outward ignorance. How nice, this land seemed undisturbed by pollution...a good sign.
She stilled as her paws and tails began to tingle. The ground was being disturbed, and if she was correct, from the location of the other kitsusagi. Her ears pinned back, an obvious sign to keep a clear distance. She glanced from the corner of her eye to the other. He appeared sluggish, and almost sickly. No threat for now.
His words reached her, and she stood unmoving with her stony expression. That was something always asked. And though she spent so much of her time considering it, she didn't know the correct answer. "You should heal yourself, before offering to help others." What good would one be to others, if they were so near collapsing?

Endless took the hint to keep his distance. He'd done that to others often enough before. Her words gave him pause, and he stood silent for a moment before answering. "I... have been spending too much time on myself. I think concentrating on someone else would help me more than returning to my revolving thoughts."
He sat, his starry pelt shimmering slightly with the movement while his glowing eyes gave her a second look. "Though I'm not going to push it if you don't need or want my help. I just... thought I'd ask."

Her head turned with her hum of acknowledgement. There was nothing wrong with time spent on oneself. You just had to know how to use it. Otherwise...you'd end up like the dark male before her. No sympathy was expressed by the femme. She simply continued to stare forward, as if watching a film in her mind. Finally, she thought nothing better to do but speak.
"Perhaps." The shadows under her eyes only darkened when she turned to face the male. "What I'm seeking is a different dimension." Sounding crazy or not, she didn't care. It only prooved if he was on the same level of thinking as she was. "Can you be of assistance in that manner?" She wouldn't waste her time if nothing was produced of it. People fell in and out of depression al lthe time. Just because she stumbled upon one did not demand her to kneel to his aid. Over time, however, words could be spoken.

Endless almost smiled. "All I'm really good for is glowing in the dark." A little good natured humor at himself. Oddly enough it made him feel better. He canted his head slightly, thoughful. "Though... I'm friends with a family of wizards. I don't know if they can manage dimension hopping but... they'd get you farther than I could." Maybe the others were right about getting out and talking to someone...

Glowing in the dark? The reserved female blinked at the other, stumped by such information. Peculiar, but fascinating all the same. She shook her head with the tiniest of smirks, before she let gravity take over. Her body eagerly and gracefully fell into it's natural pose, all paws balancing her on the ground some distance from the male. This sounded somewhat promising...
"Wizards, you say." Magic wielders of any kind, surely they'd be of some use to her delay. Question was if it was a matter of high caution. She was still unsure of how this world functioned, such as alliances or forbidden actions of unnatural types. But, as she had told herself before, there was nothing more to lose. Red and indigo eyes turned to the male. "I'd like to see that." It wasn't a question.

He nodded. "Well... I can show you where they live. They're nice people, so I doubt they'll mind talking with you." He paused and frowned slightly. "You can tell them I directed you there, if you want. My name is Endless. As... pathetic... as it might be I can't introduce you myself. Not right now. I don't think I could handle seeing her or her family again yet..."

It sounded like a decent plan so far. And by his plural use, there were many magic-wielders to be met. His pause made her glance sternly at him, pondering what could be of such hesitation. If there was a threat of approaching, he'd better make it known. She may be determined, and somewhat unforgiving in her search. But she wasn't arrogant enough to ignore cautions. Ahh, girl issues. Her ears pinned back, as if the core of his concerns was an insult to her. But, she had no blood to boil, thus remaining a chilly and indifferent mask.
"I suppose there is no other locations of magic that you are aware of, Endless?" If this was her only option, she'd take it without pause. The femme wanted to be aware of any and all opportunities.

If he thought for a moment he'd insulted her, well... it wasn't going to change how he felt, and she seemed indifferent toward him at best so he felt no reason for concern over it. As for her question... "There are others around here who are magically inclined, but they're more likely to be able to help you in that department than I am. Most of the others I only know about. There are a few at my house, too, but they're not capable of what you're talking about." He shifted himself to start walking, pausing before he actually left to ascertain if she was ready to go or not.

Setsu nodded to his reply. That sounded about right; at least now she knew magic was a spread quality of this world. Seeing that he was ready to leave, she hefted herself up on her hind legs. Dusting off her front paws, she tilted her head to Endless. "Well, thank you for your assistance, it's appreciated. I'm Setsu."

((Is it all right with you if we leave off here? XD I can't think what else to post aside from him leading her to the way to Gaia and to the lake where the path to Trel's place leads off. And it would be up to you what sort of RP happened with Trel at that point... o.0; ))
