O.k. So heres the deal. I like to role play. And I do try to spell as well as I can. But I am NOT a good speller. Its not like I'm 10 either. I'm just plain old NOT good at spelling.
Even though my spelling aint lke ths I do still get people telling me to watch my spelling all the time.
I personally think people are getting to picky, because we do all make mistakes, but still. I can't stop them.
What should I do? xp

Sometimes on your computer you have a program contected to google that can (once you highlight your text) check your spelling. If you don't have that, try to use a microsoft word program or something like that, you know the kind you use to write your papers and stuff for school with. That has a spell check on it too. By keeping that up and copying your posts on to that you can check both grammer and spelling at the same time. ^^ It's pretty simple if you have the stuff. If not, you can always try downloading something like that or finding a website that can check spelling... within paragraphs or something.

Download the Mozilla Firefox web browser. It has a built-in spell check. It even has a user dictionary similar to M$ Word.

It's free. I use it all the time and I love it.

Some people just aren't great at spelling. It's not your fault, but double check whenever you can. Write down words you spell often that you have trouble with, and keep it near you when you role play, etc. I have done that before, helps a lot.

Well, I myself am a horrible speller as well. When I was last tested (I don't know how long ago) I had a 4th grade spelling level. I am sure that has gone up by then, but I also can't spell very well.
I encourage people to try spelling to the best of their ability, which from the sounds of it you have.

I live off my google taskbar. I can't remember where I loaded it from, but it has a spell checker right in it, and I can check my spelling for each post, or for anything over the Internet. Saves me time seen as I have no other program with a spell checker build in.
The other suggestions also are good ones. My opinion is that, as long as I can tell you are actually trying (like not spelling you as u and stuff like that) then I have no problem with bad spelling. As long as I can read what you are trying to say, it is all good to me.

I just let people correct me because I naturally spell quite well. I think. If I notice an error, I let the other people in the RP rat on me. If it bugs 'em, I'll change it. As long as its readable, I think, it's fine.

Usually small errors are ignored. But if you are really not that good at spelling, google the word. Usually it'll have the write spelling of the correct word. Unless you messed up really bad.

I use it all the time, however sometimes I spell a word so badly spell check goes "huh?" If I can't find another word that correctly portrays what I want to say I just let it go.

I think you should try doing what Backwords said that way you can learn the word better for yourself ,instead of relying on the programs when you write it out more and do more with it ,it will get stuck in your head and come more naturally instead of using and depending on programs all of the time.

With me, when I notice that my spell checker is catching me on the same word a few times in a row, I try to remember how it was spelled so as not to repeat the mistake. I use spell check to learn how to spell words right. 3nodding

I can tell that it has improved my spelling already. My spell checker doesn't go off as much as it use to.
