Hey,

For my completer program in school, I am doing a work release program in the place of either two years of foreign language or two years of an advanced technolog class. What happen is my Spanish teacher left for a maternity leave in the middle of the year, and did not come back until the end of the third term/semester/etc. (There are four semesters/terms/etc in a year.) Having a new subsistute teacher each class was not the best thing in the world. I got confused, the teacher did not know a thing. There were periods of time that the whole class would be getting 'D' and lower. To pass you need at least a D average. However, I do take blame for failing. I should of told the school that they needed someone who knew Spanish, or at least I could of hired a tutor or something. (Still, ******** up planning. They knew the teacher was pregnant before the school year started. They could of used the time to find a long term sub that knew some Spanish. Not just "hola", "adios," and "si.")

To the point---

Earlier this week, the teacher (from hell) that is part of the program called me and that she said she found two jobs that she would be looking into for me: a teacher's aide at the middle school or working with kids at a local ay care. She told me that she expected me (literal) to wear a silk white blouse, a long black skirt, fish nets, and heels. Considering she did lecture me about this for over fifteen minutes. She has even hinted that she wants me to wear a full-blown sut.

And I do not think that outfit would work, considering that only a small percentage of teachers wear those kind of outfits. A lot of my school teachers dress nicely, but not overly nice. Moreso they wear nice, clean clothes that have a hint of being professional. That, and I do not think dressing up nicely, as the teacher stated, would be a good idea if I am going to be around children/pre-teens of any age. It is not as if I plan on walking in with my band t-shirt and a pair of old jeans. I have nice shirts that can go with everything from skirts to jeans to pants to etc.

I just don't think wearing really, really nice clothes like she described would be a good idea around children. Even teachers have a variety of styles they wear. I have already bough work friendly clothes under the advice of my mother.

But I am scared. Not of the job. Not of the program. Of the teacher.

The first time I met her she insulted me, yelling at me because what I was wearing was not work friendly. She went up to my face, and told me what I was wearing at the moment reflected what I would wear to my future interviews or jobs. What I wear in my free time is a lot different to what I would wear at a interview, my job, a party, a wedding, etc. Despite telling her this, she did not seem to get this. Telling me that she knew I would wear a t-shirt and jeans to a interview. The ********? She barely knows me, and already she assumes I will wear the same type of outfit to a ******** interview. Which, in my opinion, is absurd.)

She continued to make rude remarks about my weight---telling me that no one would hire a fat person. Despite the fact that she looked a lot heavier than me.

One of my friends is in the program. Last year he has this well-kept, nice hair that barely evn went up to his chin. One day she started to lecture me, telling him if he did not cut his hair then he would fail me. (She gives us grades.)

Everything who knows her seems to hates her. Minus teachers.

I am ******** afraid of this woman.

She sounds entirely insane! Is there anyone you could speak to about her remarks?

If so it might be worth starting an incident diary, with what she says, how it makes you feel and any witnesses. She may be scary, but no-one should be allowed to insult you, for what appears to be no real reason.

I'd wear what you feel is appropriate and just generally try to well document the entire situation.

I had issues similar to this a while back and if it wasn't for some of the documents I had to support myself, it would have just been my word against theirs.

Just my two cents anyways. Good luck with the entire thing, hope it works out soon so you can enjoy your placement.

Ok, nobody wears fishnets to an interview or to any professional job... unless they're an exotic dancer or escort talk2hand

Especially not if they're working with preteens or younger... what would the kid's parents think?

My mom got mad at me for wanting to wear fishnets in my spare time because she thinks it looks slutty and tacky.

If my mom does not approve of fishnets for casual wear, they are not dressy... no if, ands or buts, anybody that tells you to wear fishnets to an interview needs to be b***h slapped by me personally.

I have no advice to the rest right now, 'cause I'm still in shock about the fishnets.. but she doesn't sound like she knows what she's talking about so tell her to stfu... or tell her boss that he needs to tell her to stfu.

That woman sounds awful. >.< As for fishnets, I dunno, maybe she has a creepy old lady crush on you that subverts into agressive berating or something.

I'd go with what RHShipper says, she sounds very smart.

that that dont kill me....can only make me stronger.

If the b***h was honestly more heavyset than you, than I would have said 'Well then, it looks like you're going to have a pretty hard time getting one yourself once I have you fired.'

Then left.

i need you to hurry up now. cause i can't wait much longer.

I might keep a diary. The school system here will not believe you or do anything unless you have some sort of evidence that it did happen. I was being harassed last year, and the school was not doing anything because they claimed you can lie about verbal remarks. At least with a diary they would at least know I took the time to write everything down.

Which is what I am planning to do. The minute she tries to fail me is the minute that I talk to the prinicipal, or the board I have to.

I sort of wish hI did that. It would of been worth the look on her face. (And she looks heavier than me.)
