I was rewriting an old fanfiction and I tried to spell desert... And spelt dessert. o-o It wasn't until after I looked at my dictionary that I noticed it was wrong. xD Same thing with "spazz". I don't know if it has one or two z's at the end. >>
So what words always get you confused? o-o

Soulless. I wanted to use it for my GCSE creative writing piece, and I spent so long agonising over the thing. Did it have a dash or not? gonk I had no internet then, so dictionary.com wasn't an option, and searching for a real dictionary was out of the question too. Eventually I gave up and used another word.
'Apparently' too, because I'm convinced that spelling it with an E is wrong, but spell checkers and everyone I know disagree.
I can't think of any more. D:

I always spelt it 'souless', but then I learned that it's "soulless". ^-^;;
I've never had a problem with 'apparently', but I looked in my dictionary and it says it's spelt with the e. o-o

I know that apparently is the correct spelling, but for some reason, my brain can't accept it. sweatdrop

xD I see.
I'm like that about some words also. o-o Like 'island'... It shouldn't have that 's' in it. >> So sometimes when I spell it, I miss the 's' and have to go back and fix it. ^-^;; But I still can't accept that it's spelt like that. ^^;;

The English language is awkward like that. So full of silent letters and ones that just shouldn't be there.
I'm so going to go and try to think of more words I hate now. whee

The English language is retarded because it's made of so many different languages that there's no definite spelling system. That's why I prefer Japanese... it is *always* spelled based on sound, even foreign words... but anyway, there's so many words that bother me... especially ones with double letters and "ly" endings, like "definitely" and "especially." I also hate sound-alike words because I get them mixed up, like "accept" versus "except" and "effect" versus "affect." XP

I know what you mean, KitsuneChan. o-o I definitely prefer Japanese over English as well. I'm usually pretting good at the sound-alike words 'cause I had to study'em like crazy when I was in 4th and 5th grade.
"Cautious" and "cautiously" are some annoying words. >> (Especcially the second. The "ly" part on there just doesn't look right. xP)

My heart is closed up and I feel it crumbling down...
Wow, I completely forgot about this board. >>;;
One word that really annoys me is "eerie". XDD I always have to spell it several times until I get it right. I've gotten kind of used to it now from spelling "Eerie Queerie", but I still have a brain-fart occasionally. XDD

xD I see. I don't usually have problems with double letter words. It's the silent letters that get me usually. XD;;

Silent letters I'm used to for some reason. XD "Knight" makes perfect sense to me.

I hate words with "-able" in it. x - x
For example:
likable comparable describable
I can spell them right, I just always use the wrong spelling first without thinking, and then I have to go back and fix it. xD;

There are just random words I can't spell, generally heavily polysyllabic ones. Such as polysyllabic. One of the worst for me is bureaucratic/bureaucracy. I don't think I've ever spelled any of those forms correctly.
