I would like to think that Harry made sure that Snape got a portrait since Harry in the epiloge named his son after Severus and was one of the bravest man he ever knew

Potions Master Snape I would suspect that death or not, a headmaster or headmistress would get a portrait at the end of his or her term, seeing as they are all previous in one way or another. stare
Portraits are magical like nearly everything else in the wizarding world, Lestat. It would be logical for them to have the knowledge and personality of those they represent, judging both by how Phineas Black and Dumbledore reacted.
I wonder if any of the Hogwarts Founders have their portraits up. They should.

 Maybe there is no portrait because maybe Severus Snape is not dead!
That would be an awesome idea for an eighth book!

If Harry wanted it, I'm sure Snape got it.
That would be funny seeing him going around the castle via other paintings yelling at students. Not to mention harassing Harry's kids. XD;;
Though I see him making his sarcastic comments to students when the come up to the headmaster's office cause they got in trouble or something behind the current. xd

LoveSnivellus I dont think that Snape was headmaster long enough to get a portrait... and for all of you people who think that Snape is not dead be cause he didn get a portrait, you need to get over it and accept that he is dead. Dont get me wrong, I cried for like an hour when he died, I LOVE him, but he would have been mentioned in the epilogue if he was alive.

I do accept the fact that the book says he's dead but I'd prefer to think that he is alive, but isn't mentioned in the epilogue because no one knows he's alive.(but I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, he got out of it alive): because, he probably wouldn't want all of the publicity that would come with announcing his not dead-ness and his double spy role for Dumbledore. Besides, if he doesn't want to be found, he won't be. (i.e. No one knew he was a spy until the last book, except Dumbledore, because it was Dumbledore that he was 'reporting to' about Voldemort's plans and such. Bottom line, if he wants to keep is living a secret, he will. And if someone tries to out him on it, let's hope that God has mercy on them, because Severus will, most likely, not). And now that I've written a really long, drabble-paragraph, I will return to topic: Snape should have gotten a portrait, dead or alive may he be. If not for him being headmaster during 7th book [no matter how long he was headmaster], the Carrows would have tortured/killed all of the muggleborns in Hogwarts without mercy, and would have had complete reign over the school.Which would not have boded well.
