“Oh! It was nice meeting you too, Vlasia,” Nall said with a shy smile. Huh. One of these days, he would actually have to check out other sections of the library besides those dedicated to plants. Xylia was older now; she probably could behave herself slightly better… at least, Nall could trust her to be alone for three minutes without getting too bored. Any longer than that, and he would have to pay the library for whatever books she chewed on.

But… it was getting late. He probably ought to get back to his own room and put Xylia into her little basket. “Xy? Come on, Xy-xy…” he gathered up his little dragon and set her up on his shoulder.
Xylia squawked a protest when she realized that Stolz was leaving. She didn’t want him to leave! They were having fun! And there was no telling if they would ever, ever, ever meet again! Her own trill was on a slightly sadder note that Stolz’s, but she accepted Nall’s help up anyway.
Fine… if Nall wasn’t going to seek out the lady and her dragon, then Xylia would have to do it for him. Xylia wrapped her tail lightly around Nall’s throat to help keep her balance as the young man started making his way back to the university proper.
