The Wind Through The Grass

User Image

Name: Yasou

Meaning of name: Yasou is a Japanese word meaning: wild grasses; field grass; wildflowers. Since his egg shell has the image of a field of wild grass, TA-DA!
Past Stages: Egg Kitten
Mate: None yet.
Parents: Who knows?
Siblings: None yet.
Friends: None yet.....
Enemies: None yet, but let's keep it that way.
Likes: TBD
Dislikes: TBD

Background: There is a legend, passed around the islands, that every century or so, nature itself creates a Buttercat. The forces and powers of the elements combine to create a new life.

Whether this is true or not, caretakers over the ages have sometimes discovered eggs that seemed to just pop out of the earth itself.

Yasou was discovered bound by wild grass in a distant field. It appeared as though the field itself had given birth to him.

Believe what you will, but remember: the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Description: More will be added here as he RPs.

Breeding: Not yet!
Roleplay: Sure! However, only 1 or 2 more Buttercats, please. PM me if you are interested.
Posting Color: TBD. For now, it is DarkGreen.

The evening sun hung in the deep blue sky as a young dark-haired girl walked down a worn path, leading away from Buttercat Hall. Clutched in her arms protectively was a large egg covered in sleek, deep green fur. Smiling tenderly, the young girl turned her emerald gaze upon the egg. Whispered in a voice so soft and gentle it was similair to silk, was one word from the maiden's lips. "Yasou."

The rays of the rising sun greeted the sleepy Island of Arenaith, many of its people still sleeping. Determined, these rays penetrated the thin curtains of one particular home in the Common Quarter.

Pushing the white, shall-like curtains away, a dark-haired maiden opened the window wide, smiling gently as a warm breeze flew in and tickled her face. In the light of the morning, her clear emerald eyes seemed to glisten happily as she hummed a little tune while she made her way around the home.

Mostly barren, the house gave the impression of a newcomer to Arenaith. A few brown boxes and crates littered the floor of one room. Another room contained but a large, four-poster bed with deep blue sheets. Cradled in these sheets was a most strange egg.

The egg was large, about two hands tall and one hand wide. The egg's shell depicted a field of wild grass below a blue sky and a yellow sun. The egg also possessed a strip of sleek, deep green fur that seemed almost like a mane and tail to the egg.

Twirling about her home, the young girl was wearing a pale blue sundress. With no shoes upon her feet, she danced across the smooth, wooden floors from room to room, tidying up idly.

Twirling into the bedroom with a brush in hand, the young girl prepared to smooth and comb the egg's fur. Upon entering the room, she let out a gasp and a clatter could be heard as the brush fell to the hard wooden floor below.

Enveloping the egg, which was now floating a few inches above the deep blue sheets, was a thick, sparkling mist. The egg was shaking lightly and spinning slowly in mid-air.

The young girl ran towards her egg, pulling it into her arms. Once safe to her chest, the egg seemed ready. Glowing so brilliantly the maiden had to close her eyes, the egg seemed to become jelly-like in her arms. Instantly, the jelly-likeness was gone, so quickly that she must have imagined the sensation.

When she opened her emerald eyes, she was holding a small, fragile Butterkitten in her arms. Colored just like the egg, the kitten wore an expression of laziness on his face. Locking eyes with the girl for but a second, he curled up in her arms and promptly fell asleep.

After many days of simply being held and sleeping, this morning was just like any other. The sun broke through her curtains, falling in beams upon a sleeping Butterkitten.

Wait a second! That's no Butterkitten!

Sleeping in a ball of fur and limbs lay a real Buttercat, though a young one indeed.

Stretching and yawning, the young girl soon awoke with a scream, successfully waking half of the island. Gaping for a moment, she scrambled to lift Yasou into her arms. The sleepy cat opened one yellow eye and regarded her with a look of content.

Fully awake now, the girl put him on the bed, where he stretched out, turned his yellow eyes on his mother, and smiled.

"Good morning, mum!" she heard echo in her head. After a few more seconds of gaping like a fish, she was able to sputter out : "G-good morning, Yasou." The cat grinned. "Not used to me talking, eh?" she heard again, now noticing that his mouth didn't move when he spoke.

Using common sense, the girl asked, "It's telepathically, isn't it?" The cat grinned again, showing a very Cheshire-like smile. "Yep indeed, mum!"
