Tanana looked around. Then she stopped. "I do, but..." But it was Ohahira, and no good would come from that. She strongly considered telling her brother to turn and run, but before she made a decision the female was already too close to them.
In her jaws were two rabbits, fairly small ones, aged somewhere around adolescent most likely. She stopped in front of the two cubs and opened her jaw just enough so one toppled down, landing in front of them.
Then, wordlessly, she walked past them.

Sethatta saw what Tanana saw and froze. But before he knew it, it was over. No roaring, no beating, nothing. He was shocked. His mother did something.. for them?
"Tanana. What just happened?" He looked at her in surprise. And then looked back at the creature that lay limp before them. "Is it a mirage? Am I imagining it?" He rubbed his eyes gently with one paw.
He didn't understand. Why had Ohahira done that? What was coming over these.. these lions? She had never acknowledged them before... One moment she's fuming over a stare from across the desert, the next she's performing life saving tasks? Seth rolled his eyes in disbelief.
"Let's grab this baby and get you back to Kienge!"

Tanana didn't looked surprised; Tanana looked suspicious. She stared at the direction their mother had gone long after she was too far away to see, a mere black dot on the desert.
"I'll take it to Kienge," she agreed. "Please check on our sisters." How was Fatia doing as a slave to Uzulu's other son? Was he as bad as Kienge? She scooped the rabbit up and nodded goodbye to her sibling, turning and bounding away.
