There is a convention coming up at the end of October, and a bunch of my friends and I wish to do a cosplay skit. So, to keep us from sinking into the pits of stupid Naruto skits, I suggested a FFVII skit. So they charged me with coming up with ideas and writing it... and I have a few ideas, but being indesicive by nature, I don't know which one we should do.
Granted that my group is mostly girls (but most of us like to crossplay, so that wouldn't be a problem) we have a lot of people, but only one cotume finished... *hehe* My sister plans to cosplay Tifa and wants her hubby to do Sephiroth (he wants to grow out his hair, but that would take a LONG time to do, so we'd probably get a wig off of cosworx... and we have the shoulder guards) and I have a AC Cloud costume. But some of the skits could have slightly OOC costuming (I sew cosplay stuff for a living, you can't put it past me to suggest wierd costumes). Some of my ideas include OOC costuming.
My friends and I also have an uncanny love for theatre, so that's why the skits I have are music-central. We're not afraid to sing on stage.
So here's what I've come up with thus far:
1. FFVII Uber-Special Ending- during final battle with Sephy. One Winged Angel plays, fighting, Cloud's party dies. His last resort is to summon Knights of the Round, but can't do it. Cloud breaks down saying "I can't fight you… I love you!" *fangirls squee* and they sing a love song, and Sephy calls off Meteor, shrugs Jenova's influence from his body and everyone lives happily ever after without that stupid ditzy flower girl. (Love song- Be For You, Be For Me ~from Love Hina~ or I'll Cover You ~from Rent~)
2. Honeybee Manor Stage Sories- Aeris and Tifa introduce this one, walk off. Music cues- four ppl on stage in kimonos, backs to the audience, with parasols covering the backs of their heads. (turn around in turn to four cues in music) Cloud, Cid, Vincent and Sephy in kimonos quazi-matching their normal attire sing Sakura Mankai (by Morning Musume) dancing with parasols.
3. Costal Del Sol: Revisited- cast is walking around Costa Del Sol. (to Love Tropicana Deluxe) Yuffie gets giddy and starts to sing to the local music (Guu's part) while rest of cast sings the chorus, minus Vincent (Hare's part) who is constantly chiding Yuffie for singing.
So that's all my pathetic mine can come up with for now, any ideas would be appreciated.

Hmm.... How about this.....?
The ending battle with Sephiroth and Cloud (summon included) and then you could do the ending from Advent Children. With the summon, you could flash the lights every time Cloud runs into and around ("through") Sephiroth. In order to have that work, though, you'd have to keep the lights dim during the battle. You could have people singing One-Winged Angel during the battle and maybe Aerith's theme during the church scene. Actually during that scene, you could have someone narrating something about a baptism or training and getting ready to face life, which is the greatest challenge of all.
Anyway, just an idea. Hope you enjoy.

FF7 Jerry Springer?
Cloud is father of Aeris AND Tifa's babies, but Tifa was cheating on Cloud with Vincent at the time so it could be Vincent's but Vincent is married to Yuffie. It turns out Cloud is the father of Yuffie, and Aeris' baby is black.. Cue Barret's swearing mouth. Tifa's baby turns out to be a moogle, and she was faking the pregnancy the whole time. And in the end Cloud and Vincent fall in love, Aeris is stabbed by Tifa in the heat of the show, and Yuffie falls in love with Jerry Springer.
Confusing enough?

Thanks for the ideas- as it goes we might probably do the special ending battle because I have a lot of sephXcloud fans and they;re kinda loserish and yaoi nazis... XD

The whole coasta del sol thing sounds pretty good (and its the only one that doesn't scare me eek ) You could do it like a big musical sing along all kinds of synchronized dancing maybe more of a back and forth banter thing between Vincent and Yuffie, I dunno Guys and Dolls just comes to mind a lot well I hope you find that vaguely useful. xp

Thanks for all the ideas people! We've decided on the "Special Ending" one, with random bits from the other skits in it... Maybe have Aeris come back and try to beat up Cloud for forgetting about her? XD
But now the question is... Know anyone who lives near southeastern Pennsylvania who's willing to help my group out by being in it? We only have, like, three people, and need about six. T.T
