Lab-NET Hackers Vice Captain

Smiling as he watched the red and orange-ish yellow egg float across his screen, he nodded thoughtfully to himself. "I just hope this hacker isn't another trickster...Litae, Trisste, and Kane are more than enough when it comes to mischief makers!" Hearing the beep notification his laptop gave off when a download had finished, he removed the drive from his port and scrawled on it in his typical fashion, "Blind".
Pondering at the name the owner-to-be had given his hacker, Fiach set himself to organizing files that he'd organized countless time as he waited the arrival of the owner.

Sakura pulled down her Jeep's visor and puckered her petite frosted lips and did some damage control on her liquid paper white eyeshadow with an experience pinky. She slipped her large black aviators back on her little round face and stepped out of her jeep, rolling up her loose knee-highs and grabbing her winged mini backpack.
The little yamanba girl pushed open the glass doors to .NET and promptly tripped over the merge between the door frame and the sidewalk, squealing like a pig in embarrassment. She rubbed her lips together and checked her white high heels before strutting herself up to the counter. Pulling of her obnoxiously large sunglasses, Sakura slipped them into her leather pouch and put them back in her little pink backpack, revealing startling panda-rimmed eyes and a cheerful smile. "HI! I'm here to pick up my hacker creature!" She swayed back and forth on her heels excitedly, tapping her American manicured nails on the receptionist's desk with a chipper click-click. Her father had come up with the money for her new pet and she was ready to be one of the first to sport it back in Ainu.

Wincing slightly at the girl's behavior and appearance, Fiach quickly smoothed his features to form a pleasant smile with his soft lips. Clearing his throat, he tilted his head before inquiring, "I assume you are here for the hacker named "Blind"?"
After a slight pause, Fiach continued in his deep and lightly accented voice, "Did you have any questions about the hackers, before I give yours to you, by chance?"
Even as he asked, Fiach settled himself in and began to wonder why Adalia couldn't have chosen this moment to barge in as she always did. Scratching at his now heavily stubbled chin, he peered at the newcomer with is brilliant blue eyes.

"Yeah that's the one!" Her shrill voice rose an octave in excitement. "Naw, I think I'm good... If it's anything like the usual techie pet I'll be fine, like those tomagachis! I ruled those puppies..." Sakura stated oh so proudly, though her black eyes were glued to the counter as she picked at a few specks of dust.
Sighing, she looked back up at the receptionist with a bored smile. "Sooo... Can I have it?" She batted her long black lacquered eyelashes.

With a slight grimace, Fiach handed over the jump drive containing Blind. "They're not really a thing like tomagachis I'm afraid. The hackers are AI units. They enjoy being around humans to learn from us and they eat computer data as food." A slight grin stretched across his face as he asked, "I don't suppose our tomagachi did that?"

The little girl flipped the USB drive back and forth in her hand as if it was some alien being. Well it had a strap which was kinda nice, she could attach it to her winged backpack, but it wasn't pink and... not very exciting. She dangled it by the strap a few times, eying it in doubt.
"Ooookay well! It isn't really like a tomagachi, huh? but I'll have you know! Tomagachis soo ate data... well.. if you count little pixels. And they pooed! So there!" She felt proud of herself as he nodded, a triumphant smile splitting her white lips.
"So..." She changed the subject, looking at the boring jump drive, "What... How do you turn it on? Where's the screen?"

Blinking several times at the young lady that stood before him, Fiach couldn't decide if he should laugh...cry...or just be very stoic about it. Eying how the girl was flipping the USB about and seemed to genuinely not have much of a clue about what was going on, he voted for stoic and schooled his face into as pleasantly serious of a face as he could image.
"How does one be pleasantly serious, anyway?"
"They eat data as in your computer files, not pixelated..." stumbling over what to call it, Fiach settled for the more intelligent sounding, "...fecal matter." Coughing lightly, he continued, "You have to plug the drive into a USB port on your computer. Then you use the computer screen, to see the hacker....you do have a computer, right?"

Sakura turned the USB drive around and tapped the rectangular metal head as the receptionist explained.
"Ohhh okay..." As if she really knew what he was talking about. The little yamanba girl tuned Fiach out easily, until he asked her a question. "Well of course I have a computer!" She whined a bit defensively. Truth be told, it was still sitting in the box it came in. She only bought it (well her father bought it) because everyone was buying one. She had to keep herself updated!
"So I jes plug it in and I'm ready to go? That'll be no prob! Oh! Does it come with a warranty?" Sakura asked very seriously. When it came to her digital pets, she was savvy on the care and maintenance (especially when money was at stake).

Coughing lightly as a small blush brushed across his cheeks, Fiach inclined his head, "Of course you have a computer, my apologies. All you do, then, is plug your drive into the USB port and your hacker will do the rest."
After a short pause of just staring at the girl for her last question, he mumbled, "Do you come with a warranty? The hackers are living AI, not digital pets you control. There is no warranty on life, I'm afraid, and if they decide to leave you - there's really nothing we can do about it. Just like you can't control a human that much, we can't control hackers that much."

The young girl frowned thoughtfully at his reply. Seemed a lavish roundabout way to hide the fact they came with no warranty. It must mean they are crap! But they were so expensive! And it's so new, she'd hate to not take it just because it all seemed so bizarre. Then again, it wasn't her money.
That put the smile back on her face. "Okie, I see then..." Her vacant smile said differently. "Well if there's nothing else I need I'lla jes take it hoooome!" Her words began to steady increase into a high octave squeal. She bowed lightly and, placing the flash drive in her designer purse, Sakura pulled out her compact mirror just to check about. But everything was perfect, as always. With that she left, all but bouncing out the doors in her excitement.
