The tan-stripped goddess felt that her life was still a complete mess, even though she had met Kizuka. Sure, Kizuka's help meant the world to Mo'onasi; she simply owed her life to the little mortal that had helped her without question. But an unease still settled over her since Kiz wanted to push them deeper into the lands. She knew that something had happened, but she had not been able to find out. Momo worried that the danger was because of her fault, but she kept her mouth shut with these feelings, for she did not want to concern Kizuka more then she had to. Instead she agreed to the move, and shove off the unease that settled above her.
Only now it was returning, after they had rested and relocated to this part much deeper in the jungle. Momo had no idea where they were, really, just deep in the jungle that she had been in so long ago. Everything seemed so long ago. Safi'theluji and meeting her in the snow. Showing the adorable Kimaji what flight was like. Even running for her life from a fallen god in this jungle. Even when she had met Chaos...
Her eyes glossed with moisture, but she refused to cry. She would be strong for what was growing inside of her. She had to, she knew it was the right thing to do.
Stretching out on the ground outside of their newest cave, the goddess looked out at the jungle in front of her, her wings and jewelry still hidden. Even though she had told Kizuka of her secret, she still felt it best to keep herself hidden. You never knew when strangers might appear, as Kizuka had when she stumbled across Momo.

Moving deeper into the jungle made him restless; for no other reason than the fact things were changing. The place he'd lived within, for so long had been left behind, and instead of having the border of the jungle beside them, they were moving away from it, seeking shelter in the slowly reviving plants. The fact things were changing should have made Ushaufu feel secure... happy he'd gotten this far, however, he couldn't shake the worry that he was leaving behind that what he knew and understood.
They'd been following Kizuka, these days, and he felt rather useless, being unable to so much as point in the right direction. An inmortal could get lost within these jungles; a wry smile reached his maw at the though. It was just as well, after all, for moving deeper into the jungle had been spurred for several reasons. One of those reason had been the pale, stripped lioness that traveled with them; he'd been acquaintanced with her only faintly, really. All what he knew was her name. That and Kizuka had ordered him (quite forcefully at that; she'd made sure to drive the notion through Deception's thick skull) to be nice to her.
Now, being one that was used to keeping his own secrets to himself, Ushaufu knew this 'Momo' character had her own set of them. It wasn't Kizuka's warning that kept him mostly away from her, but rather, her haunting eyes; they were almost listless at times, as if reviving a nightmare. He pitied her.
The thought made him roll his eyes. He'd been doing a lot of that lately; pitying and caring for others. Ushaufu was starting to think there was no longer any of his old being left within him anymore. It was probably that strange sense of pity that brought him to the foot of the cave that day, watching Momo's form laying idly at the entrance, "Oi," stepping out of the foliage, he turned to glance down at her, and despite the fact his voice was soft (softer than he used on others anyhow), his eyes seemed to glare, "You need anything? Food or water?" a pause as his gaze slid away from her, an ear flicking behind him almost gruffly, as if it took a great deal of courage for him to admit he cared enough to ask, "Company even?" the last statement was voiced in a grumbled whisper, his eyes looking away from her, his stance almost child-like, awkward.
His wings had long since been hidden away before they'd began to march within the jungle, and only Kizuka knew whom he really was, or so he figured. Likewise, amusingly enough, though he had his own concerns and doubts about Momo, he did not know of her nature. Kizuka had left that part of the story out.

The goddess' yellow-olive eyes glanced over to notice the large male that she had known, as well, only in name and relation to Kizuka. She had never had any serious contact with him yet, though much of her time when she was first here was merely recovering all the weight and energy that she had lost. She knew that he helped to take care of her, whether it was just part of the hunting or protecting. She made a small note in her mind to offer him a thank you when the time felt right; appreciation was something that was always welcomed, as well it should be. Though if he took it well or not, was up to him.
She shifted her shoulders around to help support herself as she rolled over to her other side so she could have a better view of him. It felt only polite, especially if they were going to be talking to one another. "I am fine, thank you," she answered quietly, not weak, but just shy. "Company would be something different, and perhaps pleaseant, though."
She didn't really know what else to add, but her attention didn't turn away from the male. Her mind wandered, wondering just what he really thought of her. She had fell quite nearly onto their laps, and was very dependent on them for a while, and perhaps even a while longer after that. She hoped that she wasn't interfering in something that would make him, or even Kizuka, bitter. The comfort of having Kimaji around did help a bit, though.
"Could I...ask you a question first, though?" She was nervous to ask, but it had been nagging her for so long, perhaps Ushaufu would tell her. "Do you know why we suddenly seemed to move more inward in the jungle?"

Letting out a sigh he had not known he'd been holding, he allowed himself to lay down beside her; far enough to give her space and near enough to be able to talk to her. He was secretly glad she'd not told him to turn around and be on his way; that she'd not told him to leave her alone. Tell truth, he wasn't all too sure why he was glad, but he was glad regardless; after all, he didn't know her. Not really, and could not have anticipated what kind of personality she'd have. Even judging by the fact she was close to Kizuka, he was surprised by how meek and polite she sounded; she bordered being shy, which he found amusing as all hell, for he'd been feeling awkwardly shy about approaching her to begin with.
Content with just laying in silence, he found himself blinking as she spoke to him. Large, almost child-like eyes turned to face her for a moment, "That..." a pause followed during which he tilted his head to one side; he'd spent so long in the form of a cub that some childish qualities had stuck, even within his adult form, "Is a very good question," he mumbled, his eyes suddenly narrowing, and all child-like qualities were long gone from his features. It was almost as if he could change from facade to facade in the blink of an eye, "I'm not all too aware of the circumstances; all I know is that Kizuka didn't feel safe near the border anymore, and is seeking refuge within the pride that lingers within," innocence long gone, he spoke to her seriously, as if he'd known her all his life; he didn't seem to care that this was the first time he'd spoken something other than a greeting to her, "I'm thinking it'd have to do with that red lion she spoke to, earlier on, and I'm also thinking it has to do with the fact we have the Queen's blessing as a group, to finally move inside."
Rolling his large, broad shoulders into a shrug that seemed to revert him back into a child, Ushaufu turned his eyes upon her again, "I wouldn't worry though; being on the inside is better anyhow," this was his own pathetic attempt at comforting her, even though his words were a complete and utter lie, taking into account he felt restless about leaving familiar territory. An awkward pause followed before he roughly moved his head, indicating her stomach, "Heard you were pregnant and all; don't worry, I'll protect you, too," and at this point, he lifted his head proudly, huffing softly.
Something about this female made Ushaufu feel like she was supposed to be treated like an elder, or a teacher... something made him feel that she should be protected. Not that he'd had much respect for any elders before, however, he couldn't quite place his paw on what it was, that made him think 'this Momo-chick' was somewhat different. The fact she was being polite to him, and not judging him from outer appearances was no doubt a point her favour however, at least.

Mo'onasi was pleased that he had indeed decided to go through with his offer and her acceptance in that offer. It was a bit comforting to know that though she felt like a complete mess, there were still others that were willing to speak with her, to get to know her. That shattered confidence was growing back, a bit stronger with every word shared. Even though there wasn't much there to begin with, she was fighting with her inner demons (almost literally) to stay strong, if only for Kizuka at times.
Her tail's tip twitched behind her, flopping from side to side as she thought about their sudden movement again. She did not, and would not, question Kizuka about it. She had no reason not to trust her, but knowing just why they were moving would be a bit comforting to the goddess.
Well, that was what she thought until she focused in on one thing that Ushaufu had mentioned: 'that red lion'.
Momo's body grew chilled in that instant, her eyes regaining that soulless look. Red....lion.... Her mind threw her back into the past, into that moment where her life, and even bits of her personality, had changed. The sly way he had made conversation, how she had not gotten a very good vibe from him. To the attack, and to her being knocked out. And the next thing she knew, she was crawling towards Kizuka, wanting nothing more then to die. Her skin felt prickly as she yanked herself out of those memories, doing her best to not show any outward signs that what he had mentioned had bothered her so much.
It could just be another lion, she thought. Red isn't the rarest colour you've seen, you should know that. Though most of her agreed with what she was thinking, there was a piece of her that would always assume some sort of attack was coming from him. She couldn't help it, not when her trust in the wonderful world around her had been shattered. At least it was only shattered in trust with gods; she felt like she could still trust mortals, and Kizuka, Kimaji, and Ushaufu had reaffirmed that.
She shook her head and did her best to pick up where she left off, trying to snatch up as many words as Ushaufu was saying. That didn't quite work until she also focused on the word 'pregnate'. It didn't hold as much of a sour tone in her soul, but it still didn't seem very pleaseant. She would have to be good with them, though, for it wasn't their fault that they were being born into this world under such circumstances.
"Yes...thank you so much, Ushaufu. It really does mean a lot to me, especially since otherwise I would be alone and defenseless." She smiled, a bit of warmth peeking through her thin smile. She was grateful, and hoped that he would pick up on that. The tip of her tail returned to it's swaying metronone-like movement, her eyes slowly coming back into focus of the green lion next to her.
She laughed lightly though when she really thought about it. Being pregnate brought in so many fears that she only thought mortals really carried with them all the time. "Though I will admit it isn't an easy feat, not with having to be careful, always tired, and always so worried if they'll like you or not!"
