Cool! And I think that's a great idea to translate the Swadesh list into one of your conlangs. It helps get rid of alot of problems plus you've got some vocab already. Can't believe I didn't think of that!
I thank you other wise I'd just be sticking to the method I'm using now.

Homurakitsune Yes, there are short and long vowels in English... It's just impossible to tell wether or not they are long since English spelling is wacko. And yeah, the silent "e" on English words makes a vowel long, but other than that there's no real way to tell. Thanks for the compliment! It's kinda nice to have good feedback because this was the first one I ever attempted. I was so happy when I found my notebook after all these years! heart And homework is YUCKY! gonk I think that the "short and long vowels" thing in English is a buncha rubbish. In actuality, they are just different sounds altogether, and a lot of the sounds they call "long sounds" are actually diphthongs. When I think of long vowels, I think of vowels that are distinguished by lenght, take Japanese for example. "a" and "aa" are the same thing, though "aa" must be held for twice as long, and so is the "long" equivalent of "a". I don't know why they use those terms applied to English, they make no sense.

I'm just repeating what they've always told me in English class. xD I dunno, your idea actually makes a lot more sense, but maybe that's just 'cause English terminology is seriously lacking sometimes. =P

Caffeinated Tea I love how the word for 'fruit' is 'yum'. XD Yeah. Most of the vocab in this language is meant to be humorous. Like "homework" = "yuc" I had great fun coming up with the vocab back when I started this one. xD

This is really cool! I love seeing the vocabulary of many of these languages, I have looked around your Niora language a while earlier a while ago and loved it! so I checked out this and was like, dude! amazing! I can definitely feel a romance type feel to this (language wise) though I am not sure why I cant see it actually being a romance language, or a European language, more of a southeastern tongue of some sort... but love it!

Oh wow, thank you. I haven't been around for a while so I didn't realize this thread had a new post until now. Unfortunately, this one is on hiatus until I finish Niora. Or.... well or when I get bored with Niora and come back to this one that is. xD
This was my very first attempt at a conlang so it's awesome to be getting such good feedback. =)
(Honestly, though I still like Niora best out of all of mine so far. ^_^ )
