The white cub was a strange thing, he wasn't like his siblings and was far from his mothers favourite. He as too soft, much too soft and though he was punished by his mother often it didn't make much of a difference. He was just too happy but he wasn't in the best mood today. His mother had punished him just minutes before and he was limping because of the pain.
"Stupid mother...pfft!" He moaned as he walked along. Why are parents so restricting? He wanted to cause trouble, do something naughty which was odd for him but he was angry and in pain! Maybe he would find someone near the water hole.

Mother had left her mostly alone today, which she found refreshing. Usually she was kept close to Motomilia's side night and day. She was feeling particularly confidant just now, having just caught a kangaroo mouse stupid enough to be out too close to the dens. She was still trying to get rid of the thing's tail, which had managed to lodge herself between her teeth, when she spotted another cub not too far away.
The little white male was easy to pick out amid the dense heat waves rising up from the sand, but Kivuli still had to blink to clear her eyes before she was sure that she was seeing anything at all. Feeling particularly courageous, she picked herself up from the too-hot sands where she lay and jogged toward the male cub.
"Why're you limping?" She asked baldly. It was a sign of weakness, said Mother, and she narrowed her blue eyes at him.

He hadn't noticed the approaching female which he should have. He was just too lazy to care who was about, it would either be firekin or slaves no one else would dare come here. When she spoke he turned to look at her, he didn't recognise her at all but her colours were true so he didn't question her.
"Mother punished me. She always punishes me." He added a small snarl at the end which sounded rather amusing and not much like a snarl at all. He wasn't going to say why he was punished either, she would only laugh at him. He didn't want to listen to stories from the past, he would much rather play! Oh and he shouldn't share things with cousins. He hated rules.
"Who are you anyway?"

She nodded in agreement, still looking him over but not so condescendingly, now. Mother did punish her often, as well, but so far she'd escaped with only a few light cuffs, at most a bruise or two. "I'm Kivuli'Mwale, daughter of Motomilia and Keenihabu'bwana," she announced proudly. Mother always told her to be proud of her bloodline and family heritage. "Who're you?"
She wanted to ask him why he'd been punished, but maybe those hits Mother had landed on her lately had taught her to be less talkative and inquisitive. She was starting to think about things before she spoke, and she thought that maybe it was something he might not want to talk about.

Intuthu had the same problem as her, he liked to talk too much and ask questions he shouldn't do but he wasn't to know she was like him so kept his mouth shut to. His leg hurt too much to think about asking anymore questions that might lead to him getting hurt again.
"I am Intuthu, son of Nyeupe'moto and Ra." He didn't say much else though he would go to boast about them but then there is a possibility that boasting was a reason to be punished. He loved his parents, they were so different, one being black and the other white. It was different from the normal red and he loved them for it.
"Do you have any siblings? I have five of them, one sister and four brothers." He had done it again, given information before it had been asked but he was unaware and she was blatantly of the blood so it wouldn't matter would it? After all she seemed okay.

"I have a sister," she answered, happy to have someone else ask the questions for a change. "You have a big family," she continued, her eyes widening a little. A seven-member family... it was huge, compared to what she was used to. Her golden sister was usually off with her father; most often she was left with Mother as her only source of company.

Just one sister? That seemed odd but then his parents only had one sibling though he hadn't met either of his uncles and had been told by his mother that his fathers brother was mean. Intuthu had no longing to see him in the slightest.
"Do you get on with her? I do have a big family, us six, mother and father. We don't see each other much though, we all do our own things." He adored his family apart from when his mother was punishing him, then he wished he had a nicer mother but it would do him good one day. He had to be taught while young or his mother told him he would be thrown from the pride.
"Whats your family like?" He couldn't help asking questions sometimes, he was naturally curious. As long as he didn't say anything too important about his own family he couldn't see any reason why he couldn't ask others about their families.
