Well the most obvious way to make gold on gaia is to spend your real cash on collectable monthly letters and then sell them. However, if you're like me (poor), you'll just have to invest your time on gaia to make up for the lack of cash. sweatdrop

Here are some steps to follow:

Step one: If you're a rather generous person, avoid giving away gold everytime you feel 'rich'. Believe me, if you think that 50k is a lot of gold... It isn't. Don't go making guilds or visiting charity threads until you have at least 200k in gold and/or items.

Oh, refrain from buying any art either. >_> Once you get hooked on visiting user-made mini-shops... You'll start a buying and collecting. Collections are expensive, remember that. burning_eyes

Step two: Reach 20k somehow.
Fishing: If you buy grade F bait for 25 gold, you could make over 100 gold with a full bucket of fish. It also depends how good you are and where you go to fish. Durem Reclaimation is the hardest, but if you can catch Peebos, you'll earn about 13 gold a piece. The better the rod, the easier it gets. Personally, I used strength rods because it's easier to reel them in. However, if you get a distance rod, there's more of a chance you'll get a better fish per cast.
Word Bump: A great game in my opinion. It's educational AND addictive. The pay out is pretty good. Unlike other games on gaia, it's not (as)frustrating.
Cards: Very frustrating. You're basically winning what you lose. There are 3 opponents to beat... The guy, the girl and the robot. If you beat the guy, he'll give you 25 extra tickets, if you beat the girl, she'l give you 50 extra, and if you beat the robot you'll get 100 extra. So unless you're hunting for items at prize and joy, I don't recommend you play to gain gold.
Slots: As frustrating as cards, but worst. There's the slight chance you'll win big, but unless you're willing to use tonnes of gold... Well, you get my drift. It's almost as bad as a real life casino.
Jigsaw: Really not worth your time. The pay out is crappy too.
Rally: You don't get paid for this. =___=
Other: You can open up a mini-shop yourself if you have a computer/internet talent to offer.

Step 3: Once you have about 20k on hand... Start investing. Donation letters are a great way to earn cash... Even if you have to wait a couple of months. Even if you're not, after the 15th of every month (when they annouce what items can be found in a donation letter) the price fluctuates. Everyone is at the market buying and selling... And if you're lucky, you'll be able to buy cheap and sell expensive. Don't worry if a letter is worth 11 000 gold. Sell it back for 11 100 gold! Keep doing that and you'll be 1k richer much faster than if you were playing games.

Step 4: Hoard letters.

Step 5: Wait a few months, or a year, or a few years.

Step 6: Sell them.

Step 7: Repeat steps 4-6 until you reach 500k.

Step 8: Go ahead and indulge with shopping and collecting! (Don't forget to repeat 4-6 though wink )
