In all of fantasy and sci-fi, there is always that one uber spooky and creepy character that never failed to make your blood freeze.
I don't know about you, but Darth Vader was, when I was a kid growing up in the late 70s and early 80s, the ineffable stuff of nightmares, a malevolent black knight spawned from the deepest reaches of some unnameable netherworld. O_O
The runner-up for this would be Maximillian, the bloody crimson robot from Disney's cult classic, the Black Hole. Tell me he wasn't a scary mofo! O_O

I met the Boogieman once. Turns out he was just a guy that loves to boogie to disco music, hence the name.

The few creatures and villains in movies that scared me in movies when I was a kid were the Skeksis from "The Dark Crystal" and the goblins from "Labyrinth." I outgrew being afraid of the goblins.... the skeksis still creep me out though.

I wasnt afraid of any characters growing up as a kid, heck I loved the T-rex and raptors in Jurrasic park.

Jareth, the Goblin King, from Labyrinth.
David Bowie in a wig and skin-tight bulge-showing pants horrifies me... eek

When I was young at least 10 years old I would check under my bed and in the closet to make sure the boogeyman was not there. So as a child I believed he was real.

When I first saw The Wrath of Khan, I was only about nine years old or so. I had recurring nightmares about Khan for weeks after that.

Scooby doo scared me. Not the villians, but the dog. A talking dog just creeped me out.
