According to the article, "Hodges said she felt rushed and couldn't adequately explain her situation to the judge, who found her guilty". If she couldn't explain the reason for speeding, why would it be the judge's fault?

If she couldn't explain the reason for speeding, why would it be the judge's fault? because she though was about to have a freaking baby! I dunno what that feels like but I bet it hurts

By the time she had the trial, she had already had the baby. And it also mentions in the article that she didn't actually have her baby that day - false alarm.
