okay, I have a small band of 3... a Guitarist, Drummer, and Basssist [I'm Bass] I love to fool around with musical instruments and creat cool little tunes... well I decided "Hey! I want to make a song" I have startes with the help from my band members... however I'm still can't get past an intro I created while randomly playing my bass.
NOTE: I HAVE NO VOCALIST AND PROBABLY WON'T GET ONE NO LYRICS
Infomation: I have been inspired for the name of the song for reason I cannot say [my mother would be embarrassed lol]
Song Name: Sleep Trippin' Decription: I'm going for somthing that will make you think I a movie in tecnicolor like "The Wizard of Oz" and then I will have some heavy stuff that would remind you of a large beast growling and chasing you... I love my imagination...
I havn't updated it that much on www.Ultimate-Guitar.com Sleep Trippin' - http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/m/misc_unsigned_bands/sivalion31_-_sleep_trippin_tab.htm
SUCKS I KNOW!!!

Choose a key (or not). Write a melody and work out what chords you can harmonize with the melody. You'll be able to find your key from looking at the notes your playing. Then just expand on the melody to create new ones, and add more parts to the song.

You should probably play bass or guitar (whatever instrument you want, or are going to play) for at least a year or two. During that time, study up on music theory and scales. Believe it or not, scales are the foundation of solos and song construction entirely (give or take chords, but that's in music theory.) So, study up on that. Either look it up on the Web, or get an awesome teacher to help you out.
