 Confusion was written upon the pale, green marked adult lioness. She had been heading for the desert so...how exactly did she end up next to this large body of water that never seemed to end? Her brow furrowed and she frowned lightly. She flicked her tail behind her as she approached the water that seemed to dance far onto the sand before quickly retreating.
Her head tilted and her white 'bangs' fell across her violet colored eyes as she studied the water. Soon Malika'Eusi found herself next to the water's side, at least when it decided to dance up to her. She lowered her maw to get a better look at the water before sticking out her tongue to catch a taste of it on it's next trip towards her.
She suddenly jerked back and fell onto her rear, a shocked expression on her features.
It was SALTY!
Water wasn't supposed to be salty! What was wrong with this water?!

 With a rising wave, the growing mass of curly locks and blue fur that was Sikulu eventually swam to the shore. As he got onto his feet and walked onto the shore, completely drenched, with his mane plastered over his eyes, the adolescent sang a song, a bit out of tune, but otherwise loudly.
"Somewheeeere beyond the sea, somewhere, waitin' for meeeeee! My lover stands on golden saaaaands, and watches the birds that go flyyyyin'!"
The heir did a little time-step as he sang the song, eventually shaking his curled mane out of his face, and looking about. He was about to sing another verse when he noticed Malika's face scrunched up in confusion and dismay. Judging by her slightly wet chin, he chuckled knowingly, before calling to her, "You can't drink the water here, miss. It's got salt in it."

The female hadn't noticed the curly maned male emerge from the waters as she was too busy being confused about the water. She shook her head and shuddered as she ran her teeth over her tongue trying to get rid of the rather unpleasant taste she had barely acquired.
Sikulu's singing and words caused her ears to flicker before she turned her head towards him when she was addressed. "Salt....in water?" She questioned still extremely confused. "Why is there salt in the water?" It didn't make sense to her, what was the point of that water then?
She was so preoccupied with the mysterious water she didn't even really noticed that who she was speaking to was male, a gender she wasn't particularly fond of.

Sikulu opened his mouth to answer, before closing it. Why -was- there salt in the water? He didn't know the scientific reason, that's for sure. "Er.. well.. because the goddess of the sea wanted it this way!" he said, giving a sage nod.
Padding over to the female, he shook his mane a bit, before gliding a paw over it to smooth it out. "I'm Sikulu, heir to the throne of the Bahari'mtoto pride." He stood tall, smiling confidently. "And who are you that wanders into our territory?" By now, saying these two lines was a ritual for him whenever he met someone new. Although it made him wonder how so many lions wandered here and didn't know about the ever-growing pride?

"Goddess of the sea...." The pale lioness replied slowly thinking back. The word Goddess made her think of the two gods she knew, K'Anatak and the rather mean Ushaufu. She shook her head to focus on the male before her. "I suppose that makes sense..." She replied rather meekly biting down lightly on her bottom lip.
"I..." Malika started her voice trailing off. She wasn't really sure if she wanted to let the other know who she was, she wasn't as trusting as she used to be but...he did give her his name. Letting out a slight sigh she attempted to smile lightly. "My name is Malika'Eusi....rouge." She had no idea what the Bahari'mtoto pride was but didn't ask since she wasn't extremely interested, mainly because the last pride she had been in had turned into a disaster.
