I feed my fish all sorts of things, as I beleive a vaired diet is very important to their overall well being. I feed my tropicals (betta, harlequin rasboras and porthole catfish) and my amano shrimp my special flake blend, which combines several major flake brands with powerized freeze-dried food and pellets, to deliver maximum nutirtion and variety, as well as hikari micro pellets, tetra freeze dried mini krill and assorted bugs I gather outside and inside my house. my oranda goldfish gets the same as my tropicals with the addition of HBH algae wafers and chunks of whole wheat bread from time to time. I feed my columbian ramshorn snail and olive nerite snails various leafy green vegtables and wild weeds.

My fantail goldfish are being fed premium goldfish flakes... might try looking for something else to add a bit of variety sometime. Fed in small amounts, at least two times a day.

The fish in my 33gal (betta, danio, tetras, guppies, ghost shrimp) get fed premium tropical flakes about twice a day, with freeze-dried bloodworms being a lunchtime snack every now and then.

My convict cichlid fry are fed the same food as the fish in the 33gal, but are fed more often with the freeze-dried bloodworms. Every once in a while I crunch up parts of a broccoli, and feed it to them (they sure like it! lol).

Eventually I'll get my hands on some live microworm cultures, and the like.

I feed my goldfish.. like.. everything sweatdrop

Sometimes, whatever I'm eating, I'll feed it a piece of it.. I just have way too much feeding it xd

I only use one commercial food.. which I don't really like. It's called Colorfin by Tetra.. and it IS causing odd coloration in my fishie. My Goldie is black and white.. and now I'm seeing gold spots o_O. It happened too fast.. I watched him in the pet store for a month, and saw no color change.. so I'm guessing the food is packed with color enhancers. So I try to avoid feeding it to him, and only feed it to him once a week to get more protein in his diet.

I feed him all kinds of fruit and vegetables.. Kiwi, banana, peas, lettuce, aquatic plants from work.. though I try to feed the fruit sparingly, don't want him loaded up on sugar. I also don't feed him grains like bread, since that kind of stuff could give fancies gas, so I'm told.

I also feed him live snails xd Kinda feel bad for the snailies, but they reproduce like rabbits, so I don't feel too guilty..

I would like to try making him some gel food, or buying some mazuri, so that I could switch off of depending on the Colorfin to give him a complete diet.

I feed my goldfish and guppies whatever green vegetables I have available in my refrigerator. (Peas, spinach, etc.)

I buy fresh cucumbers or squash regularly for myself, so I'm always sure to boil or steam a slice or two and cut it up for my kiddos every once in a while <3

Apart from that I feed them a varied diet of flakes and pellets (I try to look for dried food containing spirulina if it's cheap enough), bloodworms, and dried shrimps.

I usually stay away from brands like Hikari, or other more "pricey" foods. Even though they don't cost a fortune, I'm kind of constantly broke, so I have to make due with what I can afford. (:
