ok... for some reason I always thought Gackt is the most popular Jrocker ever >.< but btw Gackt and Miyavi, Gackt has less vote than Miyavi-san... kinda confused on that part. it's not like i don't like Miyavi... but Gackt is older, therefore should have a larger fan-base?

I was surpised myself when I went to the S.K.I.N. concert. People cheered for the names as they popped up and they cheered loudest for Miyavi. I think he might be more popular because he's younger and his music appeals to the younger fan base.

I agree, I think because Miyavi is kinda new and his music/vocie is different like Gackts. I think Miyavi Miyavi steps outside the safe zone, like have multiple tattoos, and oddly colored hair that people are more interested in Miyavi because of that + his talent in playing the guitar so well.

Miyavi is younger and seems to understand what teenagers seems to like music wise.
Gackt is older and appeals to older women and young adult women with his sensual moves, his deep voice, and his sex appeal.
Miyavi = Teens, Rockers, Punks
Gackt = Older/Young Adult Women, light rockers
That's my opinion biggrin

hmm no idea why.. i'd cheer for Gackt the loudest!!!!
miyavi.. doesnt appeal to me as much. he's a bit too eccentric for me. i guess i'm not there yet or something. but Gackt... (: <3

I personally like Gackt best, but I understand that the people cheered for Miyavi loudest. I had heard of Miyavi before I heard of Gackt. I think it may be that he's better known than Gackt in the US.

What some of you have already said....Miyavi appeals to the younger fanbase. His music is for "hip" and out there. His style, personality, and attitude is sort of out there as well.
((I don't know how to express that better))
For some reason the younger fanbase is attracted to that.

even now i'm not really, but Gackt is slowly changing my mind...
i havent heard of miyavi.. until i got on gaia which is about a year from now

well some gackt fans aren't really on gaia & on the internet, due to them being a little bit older
plus, i think gackt has more guy fans than miyavi has guy fans
and guys usually don't obssess over them like we do and therefore aren't usually found in fan guilds =3

I've been listening to Gackt (almost religiously) for about a year and a half now. I know Gackt, Malice Mizer, HYDE, L'Arc-en-Ciel, Shimokawa Mikuni, Globe, and others that I can't think of right now. But, quite honestly, I've never heard of Miyavi before. sweatdrop I feel like I should though...
EDIT: Okay, so I've searched around and found some Miyavi songs. He's pretty good. Gackt's still better in my book. But I am a fan of Miyavi now. ^^
