"No, not anymore," Kip said, not entirely lying. "It's just, Dad told me once about the place where he was born, and it got me curious about what exactly it was like. But Dad also said that there was no one left there, and that would just be...lonely. I don't think I'm cut out to be a rogue like you and dad were before you came here."
Well, saying it made it a little better, the older son decided. Maybe it would end up all right in the end.

She took in her eldest son's words and thought on the subject, back to the lands of Mvumo's birth? She knew that Mvumo's brother had been killed there and that there was a drought that had killed many of them. But Kipanya leaving, going there? Aadil thought that would be a good adventure for a group of lions, but not one.
"If you want to go, do not let us stop you, you at least have the decency to ask, unlike your brother," she looked at her son with love, the spitting image of his father, "I will always be here waiting for you."

Kipanya took these words to heart, carefully pondering his future choices. This was just too much to take in at once; being an uncle, apparently having his mother's blessing, knowing his father might still be upset about him leaving...
"I will always be here in heart, Mother," he said. "Perhaps in form as well. If you don't mind, I need some time to think to myself."

Aadil smiled warmly and bobbed her head at her son's thoughts and quickened her pace to leave him to his thoughts, not saying a word, nothing needed to be said between a mother and her first born. She would give her blessing to him on anything, if he decided he loved males, or even if he decided that he was going to run off and try and become a hyena she would bob her head and accept it, after all he was her son.
Toddling off she thought hard on what to say to Mvumo if he approached her on the subject, her mate knew how much she loved her sons and that was all that needed to be said, she would give her blessing, and she was sure Mvumo would not question that, the great and loving mate that he was..but if he did..she mused as she walked off.
