~How do you take care of your lovely volumes, series, friends: books?
-I keep them all on my 3 book cases. That way I know if they are tampered with.

~Care to share your tips, tricks, or advice on taking care of your books?
Never let people borrow them unless you really trust them. I let my one friend borrow a manga once, the binding was mince meat because of her dog.... crying

~Paperbacks: frayed edges making you ill? what do you do to protect your fragile friends?
I actually tape the edges down with the clearest tape I have. Since I don't sell my books, I don't really have to worry.

~Where do you store/keep your reads?
If it's not in my purse, it's either on my nightstand or book case.

I keep some of my books in ziploc bags, but most of them I just stick on the shelf. And I rarely lend my books out to friends without collateral. Like, their mother or a sibling. Almost all of my books are organized alphebetically on my two bookcases, and the only person I let touch them is my mother, on the occasion that she runs out of books to read herself. Although, I might stop that, because she got some weird black stuff on the back of my brand new Harry Potter book this week. I maintain my books with love and dust rag. And clean hands. And no koolaid, I've already lost one copy of "To Kill A Mocking Bird" to mistakes like that.

Frayed edges and bent corners etc. i can't even think about!

If i ever lend any to my freinds which is very very rare i tell them like a huge list of things not to do haha and i give them a bookmark (thin one) i hate people using big huge bookmarks it bends the pages if you knwo what i mean and when people just pick stuff up and use them like chocolate bar wrappers and things (my bro does it eek eek )

I also hate it when they are left bended over or people who fold the corners down omg! if someone did that to one of mine id break their fingers haha and if tey wrote on it.

Mine are all kept on shelves i have and they arent near any windows where they might get wet hehe.

I try not to eat when im reading or drink as well because i was at school once and my freind split her can of coke on one of my books crying crying crying crying

thats about it hehe i'm very very very bad with keeping my books all neat and tidy i want to get some of the plastic covers they have at the library for them if anyone knows where i can get some good cheap ones let me know please thanks blaugh

I take very good care of my precious books. I store some in a plastic container. I would never write in any of my books.

i cover the top of my books (the ones i could fit on the shelves anyway) with a towel or something, otherwise i discovered they get A LOT of dust! I don't let my sisters touch them until they clean their hands.

The idea of frayed, tattered paperbacks scares me. gonk

I kep all my books on my bookshelf, on top of my bookshelf, nightstand, dresser, bookbag, various other places around my room because I'm running out of places to put them.
I really don't like lending my books to anybody because I'm soo afraid they'll spill something on it or rip the pages or something like that. I freak out if anyone dg ear's a page in my book, if anybody wrote on it I would probably try to kill someone. xd

I don't mind if they get a little wet,but I don't like leaving them in the car because I don't want the pages to turn yellow.
My sister hates books so I don't let her get near mine because she'll destoy them! gonk
One time she left one of her books (one of only 3 she owns) in the car and didn't take it out for about 3 weeks and the ens of all the pages turned yellow, I freaked!
I'm slightly over-protective of my books, but I can't help it.

Well, for paper backs, I don't recommend putting it in a book back around a bunch of other books that are much larger and heavier. I had a bad experience with that. I borrowed a friend's book, a paper back one, and well, when I wasn't reading it I put in my backpack. Well, one day, I went to get it, and I couldn't find it so I thought I left it at home. I checked there and then thought I must have given it back to him. Anyways, some time had gone by, and I had to take some books out, and guess what I found? My friend's book, crushed under the mighty weight of the other ones >.< It was horrific sight, seeing the book crushed, the first couple of pages with irreversible folds, oi and the cover...yeah, I was really mad and felt really bad when I gave it back. How did that happen when I kept my big books in a different compartment then my friends. Well, there's a little divider that was made of the same material inside the bag, and it was sown to make two seperate compartments. Well, it turns out the bottom are had come unsown, and the book ended up it the same compartment as the others. Needless to say, I now am very VERY careful about that. It really sucked to see any book suffer that same fate. >.<

wow, i feel kind of left out. see, i'm not so worried about how the book looks so long as the pages are still all there and the writing is all legible. other wise, i'm cool with it. i guess because a lot of the books i have are from this one yard sale thingy, where if you stuff a grocery bag with as many books as you want, it's only five dollars. my mom got a great encyclopedia set for $10! but yeah, not all of those books are perfect. but they're old, and look experienced, and i'm into that old and used look. some books are from the early 1900s, so it's really interesting. ok, i'm going bye-bye now... yeah

Well, I love my books and having the luxury of living in a varible desert I don't get rain or weather damaging elements. ^_^ Although my usual treetment of all books is generaly, read them on my bed, then place them to the side, fall asleep then come back to them at the end of the day after I wake up and go through my day. When I am finished with the book they find their own place on the side of the bed I don't use. (( I am starting to run out of room for all the books so I had to migrate a lot of them to a shelf somewhere recently))

I'm pretty overprotective when it comes to my books. I try to keep them out of the way of any element...really, ANY element...and I never lend out my books. I'm also very fussy when it comes to the pages; dog-ears and bent pages give me heart palpiatations! xp

I do that sometimes, but normally, I hate messing up the cover if it's a hard back, so I just take it off and put it in a safe place until I finish reading the book.

I try to keep my books away from any kind of moisture or falem (I light candles in my room and what not)
I let friends borrow them and I trust them a lot, because they let me have at it with theirs. ^^

I don't really have any tips. When I read paperback books, I just kind of take it as easy as I can. Oh! And if I absolutely have to put it in my book bag, I put it at the very top on all of my books so it doesn't get its guts pumbled out. gonk

Well, right now my books are in storage, which I trust because it's sealed shut with in a dry atmosphere. But, when I have them, I just keep them all on my book shelf so I don't trample them and what not. ^^
