Ok, I need a little help with something. About a year ago two of my closest friends started communicating with spirits through an ouija board. Actually part of this is my fault because I introduced them to it. However at the time I saw it as harmless fun, and anything that was conjured I knew how to get rid of pretty easily. I warned them though to not to try to summon anything unless I'm around (because I've been dealing with spirits for a long time) or they know how to get rid of it.
Of course they didn't listen and they summoned a spirit. They've named 'Cyn', and he/she has been running around with them. First, yet again, I thought he was either imaginary or just a playful spirit that would go away eventually. Most of the time spirits can't hurt you too bad.
Then they started to change. For example their memories of something that just happened could be completely warped in a matter of minutes, when before they could tell you the detail of anything that happened years ago at the drop of a hat. There are several other changes, but you wouldn't get them because you don't know them.
Now they seem to pretty much worship what ever this 'Cyn' thing is. They believe everything he tells them. I've confronted them about it back in December, and they freaked. They started accusing me of things I didn't do, and started to ignore me because their precious 'Cyn' told them to.
Cyn can talk in their heads, and the thing that bothers me is that some of the things she/he says are true. There is something sinister about Cyn. I brought them into this so part of it is my fault that this has happened. I think I need to get rid of him. But how?
What are your opinions on this? Do you have any ideas? What should I do?

Opinion: Your friends are idiots. Just because someone doesn't exist in THIS realm, doesn't always make them wiser than you, and certainly does not mean they want to help you or be your friend.
Ideas: Personally, I shy away from the "Hay guyz, I can kill demons let's hold an exorcism" approach. If your spirit has half a brain, they'll be able to avoid being destroyed by a bunch of kids. If this spirit is able to affect them THAT drastically, it's pretty dangerous.
If I were you, I'd ditch said friends (since they've already ditched you anyway, by orders of their spirit). If they wanna me some schmuck's little servants, that's their problem.
If they ever come around, maybe there's hope for them, but as long as they refuse all help, there's honestly not much you can do.
Conclusion: they're screwed.

Wow, thanks Knola, you make me feel so much better. I'm not planning on going back to being their friends, oh no, I never make the same mistake twice. I don't know, I guess I wanted to just get rid of it for the greater good. You're right though, there isn't anything anyone can do if they don't want help, and if they believe everything this thing says. They are idiots.

First off: ouija boards are dangerous. I wouldn't touch one with a stick.
Second: I agree, your friends (or ex-friends) are stupid. They need to grow a brain.
Third: Have you been able to identify what kind of spirit it is?
Opinion: I say get rid of it. It's eating them away and it could do that to anyone else. After it's done with them, it will leave them and search for a new host, most likely a child. If all else fails, get a deity to help you.
Hopes: I hope no child will be exposed to it.

Yeah, that is what I'm mainly concerned about. As bad as this sounds I could care less about what happens to them, they've become bad friends and they are very, very stupid. I'm worried about what it will do after it is done with them. I haven't been able to identify what type of spirit it is, which is part of my problem. My guess is a poltergeists of some sort, or something that isn't that complex, but has gotten more and more power kinda like a blob effect. But I'm not perfectly sure.

Get some salt and rainwater. Both are purifiers. Leave both out in the moonlight (preferably a waxing moon) and a little sunlight (like dawn). Get both of them to drink the rainwater then sprinkle some rain water and the salt around their house. They might get severe headaches but they'll be more cohesive. After a month, they'll be worth talking to. Just make sure you repeat the process again after the new moon. Do so for a while until they can do it themselves. I know you don't want to involve yourself with them, but it's kinda needed for the safety of the community.

Thanks for the idea, unfortunatly they don't want to interact with me either. I was considering charming an object and giving it to the one it's mainly attached itself to. However I'm not sure what spell to use.

Do as Meako suggested; it sounds incredibly strong... But, if you cannot get close enough to these friends of yours (ex-friends?), then you need to try some kind of banishing technique... The trick is getting close enough to them. This spirit is far too malign to face alone... Perhaps you have other Pagan/Wiccan friends whom can help you? (in the flesh, I mean). If you have to, take Meako's suggested mixture, and sprinkle your friends with it, when they least expect it. It may go against a few Wiccan guidelines (like not interfering with someone unless they want your help) but it is for the greater good. This thing will drain them, since they are too weak to resist it, and it will prey on others. The one I spoke of was very forceful, and angry... I had another spirit following me around at the time that I ran into the negative spirit. I had a name for her, but I've forgotten it (it's written somewhere, and I believe she told me her name) it ended in "Ray" I believe... Anyway, she shied away from this spirit....she was terrified. Shortly after, I stopped sensing her as well. If all else fails, call upon spirit guardians to help you drive this negative force away.

Not all poltergeists are mean though. I know one that owns a nightclub/bar for spirits, likes the color pink, is gay, and likes looking like a girl. He's nice. His name is Rosealee. He employs nice bouncers too. But this spirit of yours/theirs has got to go. Do you go to school with them?

Are your friends adept at banishing negative energies as well? And Meako is right; not all poltergeists are mean...some are tricksters. They like to hide your stuff, or give you a good scare once in awhile. I've had my fair share of them, too. Meako: Yours is gay, and has a nightclub? eek How much of this can you see? I have trouble seeing spirits unless they are particularly forceful.
