Ok, it's one thing to defy NASCAR officials and restart second instead of 12th where he was originally ordered to start, but taking out Ambrose who would have won the race on the restart? That was just downright dishonerable.

You know, it really was bad that Robby took out Ambrose, but give me a break, he really got put in a bad spot. How could he maintain caution speed if he was spun!?
And by the way, Kevin Harvick took out the 41, which takes out several other cars, and effects the outcome of the race. And he gets to win the race! That just goes to show how much NASCAR hates Robby Gordon, and loves other drivers.

The way Harvick brought out the caution is different because he wasn't disobeying orders from NASCAR at the time and acting as a "ghost" if you will, like Gordon did when he took out Ambrose. I think if Gordon wanted to even think of an appeal he should have just passed Ambrose clean because what he did was totally uncalled for because he wasn't supposed to be there in second place.

this right here says a lot "But top series officials are still seething. He disobeyed two directives, celebrated as if he had won a race from which he had been disqualified, then showed sheer defiance when he went before NASCAR to discuss it. "
he's an idiot and disrespectful, and he should be parked from all forms of NASCAR for a good period of time till he learns his lesson....and now I'm off to find out what his penalties are.

My head hurts thinking about this whole deal. gonk
Just remember one thing though: NASCAR is a dictatorship, albeit a benevolent one, but a dictatorship nonetheless. What they say, right or wrong, fair or not, is the way it goes.

Soultrain My head hurts thinking about this whole deal. gonk Just remember one thing though: NASCAR is a dictatorship, albeit a benevolent one, but a dictatorship nonetheless. What they say, right or wrong, fair or not, is the way it goes. Gotta give them credit though. It's not like in hockey where they can blow a whistle and stop everyone for a while. These guys have officials monitoring team operations everywhere and have to make fair decisions while cars are doing 190 mph while laps tick away. It's not easy being a NASCAR official.

I never implied it was easy, and I do give them credit. They make lots and lots of good calls, and do a great job. I'm just pointing out to people who say 'it isn't fair', that NASCAR doesn't have to be. If NASCAR says Robby has to go to 13th, he has to go to 13th.
