An immaculate white building, with very small windows set near the ceiling sits kiddy corner to the large lab of the .NET Hackers. Through the flimsy white curtains you can see an odd glow and there seems to be a machine-like hum emitting through the partially open windows. In carefully cast gold letters, the large and ornate characters spell out, "Points and Data Bank".

With a shrug, you take a step inside to be confronted with the glare of many computer screens. A tall computer sits near the entrance, noticing the lack of any living beings around, you tentatively take a step forward. As you do so, a voice announces, in a dead voice, "Welcome to the Points and Data Bank. Please insert your portable device into the appropriate slot. Your points and data will be updated automatically. Thank you."

As you insert the device, the computer downloads all of your information and its screen flashes your new account data to you. Before you can remove the device, the computer blurts out an automatic, not very pleasant sounding, "Have a nice day." With considerable amusement you retract your device and head on your way.

On who keeps the tallies:
While we do encourage you to keep track of your own, the roleplay mods and managers will also be keeping tally. At the end of each day, someone will hop onto the mule and post the tallies of the day for everyone at both the thread and the guild. This will give you a chance to dispute the tallies we have and also show you where you're at. ^^

What is the point system?
The point system is something we devised so that you can get the most points possible towards growing your pet -- and it won't be dependant on what a judge or moderator thinks of your writing. (Which can always be biased.) So, we chose the most unbiased way we could think of to assign point values to -- Gaia's random number and dice games!

Ok, I get it. But how do I earn those points?
I'm glad you asked! You can earn points by general thread activity (i.e. posting), basic roleplaying, making long and literate roleplay entries, by completing tasks/missions/quests, journal entries that meet or exceed three paragraphs, and participating in events.

Sounds all right, but how do I earn points in this? And how much do I get?
For general thread activity, you pick a "random number".
1-30=1 points
31-50=2 points
51-80=3 points
81-100=4 points

For roleplaying activity, you pick a "random number".
1-15=1 points
16-30=2 points
31-50=3 points
51-70=4 points
71-90=5 points
91-100=6 points

For posts that advance the roleplay, you earn points based on how many you've written.
20 posts means 40 bonus points
30 posts means 60 bonus points
40 posts means 80 bonus points
100 posts means 250 bonus points

For quests/missions/tasks they will be assigned a rank. To do a mission of a certain rank, you need a certain amount of points. For the completion of a mission you will receive points as well as points for each post made during the mission/task/quest.
D Rank - 100 points for completion, 50 for unsuccessful
C Rank - 200 points for completion, 75 for unsuccessful
B Rank - 300 points for completion, 100 for unsuccessful
A Rank - 400 for completion, 150 for unsuccessful
S Rank - 800 for completion, 300 for unsuccessful

For journal entries that meet or exceed 3 paragraphs, you will earn the normal roleplay points plus 10 points per entry of that length.

For event participation you will earn 25 points per event participated in.

So what were those levels you spoke of?
The levels are for ranks, you need a set amount of points to attain each level.
Level 1: 200 points
Level 2: 400 points
Level 3: 600 points
Level 4: 800 points
Level 5: 1,000 points
Level 6: 1,200 points
Level 7: 1,500 points
Level 8: 1,800 points
Level 9: 2,000 points
Level 10: 2,300 points
Level 11: 2,600 points
Level 12: 3,000 points
Level 13: 3,500 points
Level 14: 4,000 points
Level 15: 5,000 points

How do I know what mission rank I can pick?

Levels 1-3|D Rank
Levels 4-6|C Rank
Levels 7-9|B Rank
Levels 10-12|A Rank
Levels 13-15|S Rank (The Elite!)

When do I do the random number action for general thread activity?
When you make your post.

So...does that mean my bumps count?
No. For each "general thread activity" post you make that is at least one to two full sentences you can earn points. All others will be ignored, because while we want to use the general thread activity points to help you if its abused by excessive bumping (i.e. emoticons only, or just bumps) we'll remove the general thread activity clause.

So how do you determine a failure or a successful mission?
To find out if a task/mission/etc. is successful, use roll the "random number" post action, from 1-100. The higher your points, the greater chance of success.
0-500 points Any multiple of 6
501-2,000 Multiples of 6 and 8
2,001-4,000 multiples of 6, 8, 13
4,001-6,000 multiples of 6, 8, 13, 5

You may fail up to three times at a task/mission/quest before it is deemed an official failure. However, you need only succeed once to have it classified a success.

So how do I attain the adult and elder stages?
You will need 1,000 points to become an adult, and the completion of an S Rank mission and 6,000 points to become an elder.

Ok, so when do I start gaining points?
From the moment your character grows to a child, you can earn points.

How do I exchange my points or data?
Think of it this way. Your points or data are your "money". When you go to the Points Exchange & Acquisition Services shop, you would roleplay transferring your data points from a portable device to Quesdin's computer. You would tell him what you want in exchange, whether it be data packets, growth, or anything else we think of for his shop to have. He would then roleplay either activating the program to grow your Hacker or transferring the data packets onto your portable device. You then both roleplay a goodbye, and you leave.

Ohh, okay! But how do I know how many I have?
We'll keep a constant tally posted at the guild and in a Points Bank in Quesdin's shop. So you'll just have to check there and double check with us if that's the most current tally. If it isn't, we'll do a fast tally for you on it. All past transactions will be kept recorded in the guild's Points Bank. Data particles and packets information will also be kept in the Points Banks.
