So, I was reading my news subscriptions (made up of bizarre/odd news, more or less), and I thought, hey, why not make a thread on MPRILC where you can post some news about some moderately entertaining occult- or religion-related stuff? We could then discuss it for various lulz.

So yeah. Post interesting occult-themed news articles - they can be from pretty much anywhere, provided they're factual and entertaining.

This one I found a couple of years ago, and quietly obsessed over finding out as much as I could about La Llorona and Bloody Mary. It's pretty damn fascinating.

This is fairly recent. Man cuts off his hand for Kali. Hm.

I know of dozens of scientifically proven psi articles... but very few news articles... if I think of any I'll post here.

Numerology Murderer

Now I'm aware this site is a bit.... well, it's not the most reliable source, but this murder was solved by a Crimewatch appeal on the British TV Channel BBC 1. The murderer's motive remains unknown, but numerology appears to play a part in why he committed the murder, and was one of the clues in catching him.

That's pretty creepy, I just saw an X-FIles episode where one of the agents thinks that the killer they're trying to catch is using numerology to pick his victims. =o

Some chick gets picked up by the police during a ritual.

Princess Martha Louise of Norway has apparently made contact with angels.

Nothing particularly exciting, but 'eh.

My response to this one would be... if it's a gift, something you didn't have to work at to get, then how on earth could you teach it to other people? On another note, angels are everywhere. It's pretty much up to them weather or not they wish to be seen, and if they want to share their powers with anyone. Anyway, that's what I think about the whole situation.
