It was her! Matima lunged through the mud and managed to skid to a stop at her side.
"No way!" He argued and shook his head vehemently, just to emphasize. "And have ALL of us lost and alone?"
Better to have two of them together than all of them scattered like leaves in a breeze. He sniffed at the air; nothing. He couldn't even make out the cave behind them!
"Any idea where to go from here?"

Gzifa wasn't about to admit 'not a clue', but she didn't want to lie, so she just wouldn't answer. It wasn't like her to be silent, though. "Maybe this direction?" she suggested, straining to see through the sheets of pouring water.
She had to learn to memorize these directions for her sake and Khima's sake. This was just practice, she told herself. "Okay, let's go!"

"... Maybe?"
THAT didn't sound reassuring. Mati squinted into the rain (which thankfully seemed to be relenting a bit) and couldn't make out anything in the direction she was indicating.
Well, it's not like he had a better idea. The dog grinned and shook out his coat. "Alright! That way, then!"
