It was close to the afternoon, where the sun was slowly rising its way into the sky. The heat was starting to warm up the surface, as it did every other day in the Pridelands. It was a nice, happy feeling to wake up the the heat blasting on the backs of theirs coats as the lions awoke from their dens. This day was was like every day before it. A smiling lioness left her quiet den, as she revealed herself to the sun's rays. She left the cubs in her den, so that they had the chance to sleep in. Cubs were usually cranky when they did not get enough sleep!

So, Miamba found herself padding into the grasses, towards a large boulder. It was the best spot, in her mind to go basking for the heat of the day. Her tail flickered about on the ground as she spotted the rock, awaiting her arrival. The sun had already gotten to it before her, which made her even more happy. The rock would be very warm when she made it there! Eventually, she placed a paw onto it with a grin and then circled it before collapsing onto the warm spot. She purred lightly with joy.

Having settled into the idea of once more returning to the pridelands, Siku stalked the grasses of the early morning, mind torn between hunting and the family she left behind. Some day, eventually, she would have to face up to the mother and life she had abandon for Kiji. Her ears twitched as she listened for any sign of prey, trying desperately to take her mind off of her old family. She had Kiji and her children now, and wasn't attatched to that life anymore! But, no, that wasn't important now. She needed to focus on hunting.

And, at that time, Siku realized she heard the sound of a familiar purr. Blinking slightly, she pushed herself up from the grass, looking around quietly and attentively. It was coming from somewhere nearby, but where? If she just focused on the sound, and followed the direction...

Turning her head to the sky, it hit her. Not any actual object, no, but the shock of seeing a figure she hadn't in so long. There, perched quietly a top a sunning rock, was the last lion Siku was ready to see right now.

Her mother.

Trembling slightly, Siku padded forward, sitting quietly in the grasses before the rock. Breathing deeply, she called.

"M..mother?"
