If this is a repeat topic of any sort, I apologize.
While I'm sure many people who roleplay have come across a lot of Phantom of the Opera roleplays, I wonder if anyone does other musicals?
After all, if we roleplay books, movies, and even television shows, why not musicals?
I just thought it would be interesting to see if anyone has done this or has one going on. Also, to discuss any musicals that would be fun to roleplay or if anyone's seen any musicals turned into them. After all, there have to be some roleplayers in this guild, right?
And if anyone is indeed interested in something of the sort, do check a link in my sig for a modern Jekyll & Hyde based off the musical.

I don't roleplay much, but it sounds fun - imagine the possibilities.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch roleplay? I would pay good money to even just read those.
But something like an Into the Woods roleplay has lots of potential. Any musical with sub-plots, etc.

I simply find it interesting that people can successfully pull off a roleplay just from the musical, even if there is no character singing involved. The most common as I said have been PotO ones, but I think that's simply from the uprise in such fandom from the 2004 movie and all.
It's rare that I find an illiterate roleplay based off such things, too. But it is pretty funny when I do find them.

Hmm... I don't say I enjoy fan RPs without made-ups. So boring. But at least in musicals there aren't stupid n00bspkrs.

Depends on what Musical you do. More common ones tend to bring in a few that enjoy talking like they're trying to set a world record for the shortest abbreviation of every word in the English language.

I've RPed Sweeney Todd tons of times, as most of the characters.
You know what would be SO MUCH FUN?! A Spelling Bee RP. YOU KNOW YOU WANNA DO IT. If we ever do it, I'm calling Leaf Coneybear THIS VERY MOMENT.

I was recently in Oliver the musical and played Nancy and some of us (yes me) got into charcter a bit too much in the dressing rooms so backstage was like one big role play. It was such good fun! I love playing the rough east end jezabell with a heart!

I started a RENT roleplay in this forum. Because RENT is a great musical, and yet it was so... Lonely.

I've roleplayed Wicked before. I played a made-up and we've been roleplaying since April. Two nights ago Elphaba 'died' in the roleplay. Since we were so into our characters and since we were roleplaying for so long and got to know each other so well, we ((Me (Puppy: My made up), Courtney (Elphaba), and Brianna (Glinda) )) All started to cry. We were IMing each other and telling each other how sad it was that it was nearly over...then we realised, we had already planned a Wicked 2. It was sort of funny. If you ever want to read the roleplay, it's up on neopets. You'll have to sign up in order to read it. Once you're on Neopets, look up emilyb4793 and go to my guild. Then go to messages and you can read the roleplay. You'll have to go back to the first page, though...

I find to do musical roleplays pretty difficult. I've been in a POTO one and its just hard to really come up with something to do, not to mention living up to the character's standards. ><
