Malicious Toast

PostPosted: Thu Aug 02, 2007 10:09 pm

I'm making a challenge for myself. 231 days of working out and "dieting" (IE not eating bad foods). I've got everything all planned and ready. One thing that's stopping me is my parent's shopping list. They buy shitty foods, and don't fit in the healthy stuff.

So I was ranting to Alex about this, and then suddenly he goes off on me like "Hey, just because you want to lose weight again don't change our lifestyle!" and we were argueing about the foods in the household (consisting mostly of pastas, really bad for you frozen foods, and high-sugar foods) and he brings up how my past attempts failed, and I counter-argued that I never had any support from the family, and eventually the arguement ends with
"Oh, and make sure you put butter on the grocery list, we're running out. "<******** you."
"Fine, I'll tell them ******** you."

He's been so edgy lately, and snapping and getting angry easily. I think he's depressed because of the way things are, and if we were to change our diet, I'm sure he'd feel much better, but I don't think he quite cares about anything anymore.

All he does is play games on the computer. He doesn't treat anyone in the house with respect, so we don't treat him with respect, and he's just so.. childish. He eats all our food, insults us, and refuses to listen. He has no ambition to do anything, and everything he does is half-assed, and I always end up having to clean up.

Aren't you like 13?

It's not a good idea to be changing up your whole diet a lot while you're growing. There's a good chance you'll grow out of it in time.

Just getting some decent calisthenics in every day would probably be far more important for now. You don't have to get other people's support for that, work with what you have.

Yes, I am 13.

I honestly think I'm done growing.. like major growing. I haven't grown for awhile. But is changing your diet from shitty junk foods to healthy stuff really that bad while you're growing?

And I honestly don't think I'm going to magically *POOF* zomg I'm skinny and tall and supar prettay because I've grown up LOL. Dx I gotta atleast try to fit in a healthy lifestyle while I'm young so I don't have to deal with the fat I have now later on.

But yeah, I will do what I can. ._. It's just very VERY frustrating.

What if it doesn't work to your standards, are you going to change your diet again? A third time if it doesn't work after that? It's not magically *poof* zomg I'm skinny and tall and supar prettay just because I stopped eating s**t, either.

I'm not saying that you'd be depraving yourself of certain nutrients or anything like that cause I have no idea what you have in mind but since you aren't in charge of what food you'll be eating like you're implying I'm trying to say it's more important to focus on cardio-exercises as they are not harmful to the maturing body as opposed to working with weights or something. Just be careful is all I'm trying to say. It's very easy to lose all your weight from changing your diet and then gain it right back once you're reach whatever your target is because you still weren't eating right.

If you dont get support from your family, we will give you suppoert here.

And I have to say I used to be fat and ugly, and then it did seem like suddenly I was skinny and pretty. It was around end of jr high begining of hs, and I tink thats when most people do change.

Working out and eating better will do you alot of good not only outside but inside too, just dont go over board.

but pasta=good carbs right before you work out 3nodding

If you're changing the food you're eating, like say, cutting out foods with high fructose corn syrup, I'll give you a word of warning from personal experience - you'll crave it for a good long while afterwards, but if you do go back to eating something like HFCS you very well could get stomach upset from it because your HFCS loving bacteria starved to death. You can't, or shouldn't, completely change your diet overnight, that can upset your stomach.

So if you're changing to a more healthy diet, just be careful and make sure it really is a more healthy diet.
