This Old Oscillator
I open their myspace and the first thing I see, before I even hear the music is that they're touring with Aiden.
Automatic fail. Now I don't even have any desire to hear what they sound like.
You aren't missing much.
They aren't a bad group. All in all, I consider them a fairly entertaining act. However, they're not at all unique. They sound exactly like every other MySpace-generated synth-pop group. Even within their own body of work, there isn't much variety musically. Hell, I could swear "Aim for the Head" and "Look to the Skies" are the same song with only one or two synth differences.
Though, they aren't totally mediocre. They have some genuinely sharp lyric-writing, which is by far their strongest suit. Their body of lyrics is very comparable to Voltaire's "BRAINS" "Vampire Club" or "Graveyard Picnic". Allusion-heavy couplets, but well thought out.
