The Great Sesshomaru, an Afghan hound? They are quite sleek, well built and have long hair, but are not white and are too fragile looking for OUR Demon Lord!

An afgan hound is an interesting theory. Just off the link you provided, the shape of the face seems very similar, and the ears look very similar too. On the other hand, the long fur is all over the body, as opposed to only in certain places on Sesshoumaru. However, since there have been other demons who look different from there non-demonic relatives, it's not impossible. The fact that the afgan hound is very fragile looking is another good point, but I could go either way with that one. It does look a bit too fragile to me, but other demons have been much stronger than they're non-demon relatives too. We've seen plenty of insects, lizards, fish and serpents that were much bigger and stronger than regular lizards, fish, serpents and insects. On the other hand, those demons tended to be relatively weak unless aided by a jewel shard, the extreme muscles on a usually frail species without adding extra power seems a bit much to me. On the other hand, I could be putting way too much thought into this sweatdrop I guess what I'm saying is, it looks like a definite maybe to me.

How about a Siberian Husky? Or an Alaskan Malamute? (I hope I spelled those correctly. xD)

It's an interesting question, I've never thought about it before. My comment is that he probably wasn't meant to be any breed of dog in particular, since you don't see many that breathe acid fog, and whose saliva will dissolve solid rock. xd The Afghan hound idea is an interesting one. Not a breed that you see too often, but it does seem to fit. Of course it won't be a perfect fit, no breed could be... Although you could blame the differences on the fact that he's a demon and not a normal dog.

I scoured the internet, and when questioned, it seems that Takahashi-sama more or less fashioned our beloved Sesshomaru after the great white Samoyed. They are pure white, the furry coat is very similar to our beloved Sesshomaru, agile, and when angered, look remarkably like him in his most fierceness. For the effect needed of a great Demon such as Sesshomaru, the coat was made a bit more wild looking, but the Samoyed has quite long hair.
