So, I was watching Attack of the Show a minute ago, and apparently, Bungie announced at a presentation in Amsterdam that there WILL be 4 player online co-op for Halo 3.
Reportedly, the first player will play as Master Chief, the second as the Arbiter (instead of an unoriginal second chief), and the other two as two 'special' elites, meaning that they aren't just expendable troops, but instead have actual Covenant names (instead of just 'Elite' or 'Honor Guard') that fight alongside Chief, instead of against him.

that sounds good... i herd they were also bringing the spartan 3's into the game

there have been rumors of multiplayer coop being up to 16 since before halo 3 was officially introduced. can't wait for 4 player online coop.
