Arthur looked up and glared at his friend across the table, he couldn't be doing this to him now couldn't he? Though suddenly Arthur slammed his hands on the table and stood up with an angry look on his face. "Hey! You can't force me to make a decision like this Gavin! You were lucky to marry someone who's in your own species alright!? There are so many things to consider when you are in a position like mine and here you are not even allowing me to think about it! I've been with you through out your whole life and got you out of enough jams than I could count on my fingers! Cut me some damn slack alright!?" With a sigh of frustration he sat back down in his seat, he was starting to wish he never came tonight at all. Even though he was thinking about Melody what about himself? What would the others think of him back at the fortress and what about Isle? He has gotten close to her, even though they may not become an item there was just something about her that made him want to take it even more; so right now he felt like crap. "This is not fair!" He shouted as he leaned back in his seat, his hands covering his face before sitting back in his original position with a soft sigh. After a few minutes he shook his head and turned it away slowly. "I don't think I'll be able to Gavin...if things were different, if I was human I would be able to...I love your daughter with all my heart but it would sadden me to watch her die in my arms...I don't think I'll be able to get over it...I'm sorry..." Arthur let out another sigh, a harsh sigh as he placed his face in his hands once again; he hoped that Melody will one day find someone to love and hopefully be happy.

"I'm glad you had someone to before me, Daddy. Sometimes we just need hugs and that's okay, right?" Of course it was. There was nothing wrong with giving or getting a hug from someone when you were feeling sad. Cookies helped too. Maybe that was her way of hugging him? He'd rather have the hug.
"Oh..." He did see, it just took him a minute to think about it. "Are they still like that?" He thought so. "Sometimes she looks at me and she almost looks like she's gonna stand up and hug me. Then the light goes somewhere and she turns back to whatever she was doing." He kicked at a rock and sighed. "But sometimes I think that those times she does love me and want me." He nibbled on his bottom lip and then asked tentatively. "Ever felt that way Daddy?"
Gavin's face hardened and he shook his head. "Doona be yellin' at me! I deal with her Arthur. I watch her mope about when ye're gone and have to handle all her damn suitors. This isn't fair to ye? How about what's fair to others? Sure ye haven't encouraged her in any way but ye haven't told her flat out either now have ye? Instead ye keep her hopin' that someday ye jus' might look past the little lass and see the bonny woman she's become! Now, ye have yer decision, go tell her so she can get over ye and start movin' on with her own life." He shook his head nad muttered, "At this rate, I'll never have any bairn to bounce upon me knee."

Malik shrugged.
"Well, pet tasks I'm sure cna be passed aroudn a bit when other studies come first. but we do need to catch him before he trisp and falls and squishes the one he's got on his hands."
So he went out on his way to tag their son and get him to at least be a bit more controled.
"Malikhai! slow down, we don't want you to fall on you new pet do we?"

Arthur blinked a few times after Gavin just finished his own little speech, so that's how it was huh? She liked him this whole damn time and he didn't even see it? Gods be damn he felt like such an idiot right now how could he not tell? "Oh gods kill me right now..." He muttered and sat there for a few minutes before pulling away and looking at Gavin. "I'm sorry old friend I really am! Oh gods..." A small tear rolled down his cheek as he got up, he really needed to tell Melody about how he felt, she needed to know about everything. "I just hope she will move on...she doesn't need this...none of you guys shouldn't of...I hope you all can forgive me for my own stupidity..." So before he left he wandered over to his friend and braced him in a nice manly hug, patting him a few time before pulling away with a small sniff. "Sorry about all this..." Hey he couldn't help it, Arthur felt a lot of guilt for leading Melody on like this and she didn't deserve any of it, so with the hug now done he gave a small goodbye before heading outside, and once he wandered outside the doors of the forge he looked to see that Brahnel was gone! Melody must of taken him. "Oh gods Melody!" He shouted as he wandered out a little bit. "Melody!"

"Right." Resting his hand on his son's head as they walked. "Some are...but not here. There are no more Llothians here." More pointedly because there was no Lloth anymore. It was interesting to see what would happen in three years when the bane of an existance was removed. But another look to his son. "Perhaps she does...but people tend to stay thier hands when they're afraid they will do something that will cause more harm than good." Though his eyes returned to the path ahead at his tenative question. "No, I haven't." He wouldn't let himself be fool enough to be so vulnerable knowing full well what could happen. Zahara was simply one you had no guarentees with...
"Says the man who said 'Now remember, they're your responsibility Malikhai'." Giving him one of those saucey smartass smirks of hers before sighing lightly and raising a hand to rub at her sore head. That was a pain that just wasn't going away wasn't it? "And don't jiggle him he's just a baby." Smiling fondly as they followed thier son out to the little pen. Though she came to stand next to Lharika, petting at her sister's hair lightly. "Seems someone beat you Malikhai."
And screech to a halt at that, remembering himself and indeed slowing down. "I won't squish him." In fact his little shirtless self waited for his parents to catch up to him before he started in a walk again, and they all eventually came up to the pen, Malikhai peering through the fencing as he cradled his little draithix...who was in face several shades of blues and a few hints of other colors. But mostly blue, metalic a little on the scales look. "Look! They're all hatching too!" Giving a happy giggle at that. Hey this was exciting for him.

Zykariel felt his father's palm on the top of his head and he walked a bit closer, laying his cheek against his father's hip and reaching for one of those ever present belts to hold onto. "Right cause the bad woman is gone and they all were her slaves." At least that's the way he had heard it.
"I wish that light wouldn't go nowhere Daddy. I wish it would stay and she would look at you the same way." He stopped for a moment and then stepped in front of the bigger drow and lifted his arms in the 'pick me up' gesture. "You don't love her either, do you Daddy? But you like her? A little bit?"
Lharika lifted her head and grinned at her sister. "Yup, I was scouting out a spot for my party when I heard the noise and since this morning none of them had hatched I came to check it out. It's about time anyway." She noticed that Malikhai had a little bundle in his arms and she reached down and gently stroked listening to a soft squeak from the creature. The others in the pen had started to make noise as well. "They're hungry..."
Gavin watched the emotions cross Arthur's face but said not one word. It wasn't Arthur's fault that Melody had harbored the desire as long as she had. Nor was it Arthur's fault that Mel refused to speak of it. He hadn't led the girl on though he did need to tell her straight. Wrapping his arms aroudn the other men he gruffly patted his back. He didn't do tears. At all. "good luck..."
Mel was just riding back up on Brahnel and she jerked to a stop and dismounted, busying herself with getting him all settled once again. "Leaving, are you Arthur? Guess I can't convince you to stay longer, now can I?"

Arthur was a little happy that Mel was just coming back but he felt a little sad, he didn't want to break her heart but if she has to move one he needed to do this, but one thing how was he going to start this off? Sighing lightly the elf wandered over to his friend and paused a few feet from her. "No I'm not leaving yet Melody...I gotta tell you something anyways...and it's important..." His gaze had a sadden look to it and he could barely look at her but he was able to keep his eye locked on to her own as he placed his hands into his pockets. "I...well I know that you like me Mel and it's just now that was able to figure it out...and I gotta tell you..." He paused for a second as he watched those beautiful eyes before turning his head away slightly. "I wont be able to show you the same affection...I'm sorry Melody for leading you on like this...it's best if you just get over me and be with someone else who can stay around here and love you...a for me I just can't do that I only see you as a sister and there would be so many things to worry about if we got together..." He sighed lightly as he looked back at his friend, he really hated to do this to her. "I'm not thinking just about myself just so you know, I'm also thinking about you Mel, you need someone better than me and trust me you can find it...just do yourself a favour and put the love for me that you have back where it belongs and find someone else, trust me it be better for you in the long run..." Sighing lightly the left shifted his weight from one foot to another as he watched Melody, he wished there was an easier way to do this. "I hope you can forgive me Melody..."

"Well look at that. I'm a pretty good convincer then aren't I?" she chuckled to herself but then his eyes turned sad and she immediately got worried. "Arthur, what is it? You can tell me, you can always tell me." She listened in silence, her eyes roving over his face and searching his as he apologized for something that was never his fault and she felt something inside her break. Taking a deep breath she met his gaze, her own shimmering with tears before she swiped them away. "So he told you. He always said he wouldn't but I knew if I just waited long enough he would." She was quiet for a moment, collecting her thoughts and forming what she was going to say. "Alright. If I can't have your love at least do me one favor." She glanced around to make sure no one was listening. "Make love to me Arthur. Please. I-I don't want to give it to anyone else..." Her cheeks flared bright crimson at her request but she held his gaze and stood her ground. He had to do this one little thing for her. Really it wasn't much.

When Arthur saw those tears running down her cheeks he couldn't help by close the gap between them and brush away at the new ones that started to follow the trail that was set by the tears that first rolled down, he hated it when she cried he didn't like to see her that way. "Oh Mel I'm so, so sorry..." He whispered as a single tear appeared from his own eye as well, oh gods if only he was human he would just sweep her up in his arms and take her back inside and make her happy for the rest of their days...but he couldn't things were a lot different between them and they couldn't change it. "Well I'm sorry about that...we got into a conversation and he just...told me about hoe you felt and your suitors...at least you can finally be with someone now..." Though he paused for a second when Melody spoke to him about a favour, well he would do anything to make her happy but what did she want? Well when she finally spoke of it his face flushed a deep red as his head tried to wrap around what she was asking of him. "W-what!? Y-y-ou want me to..." He paused for a second to make sure no one could hear him. "To make love to you!? Mel asking me to do this it's...gods what do you see in me anyway Mel? I mean..." His voce trailed off as he tried to think of what to say but nothing came to mind, he was lost for words.

He stopped for a moment, picked up his son and continued on. Why had this suddenly become about him? He thought it was about the child and his feelings, not his own. Apparently the child had different ideas now didn't he? "Lights can't stay on all the time...they need rest." Best way he could think to explain it for the time being.
Though he gave a sigh. "I like her. When she's in a good mood at least. And love...well...love..." Hm, what did he want to tell the boy. "Love is not meant for some, and for others it's horribly elusive." Malik was right, Sevilin did love her...in his own way. Not that he would openly admit that or want to entertain the thought...after all, he knew it would just make for disaterous results.

"Miss Piper's does." Only thing he was going to say about that. He rubbed his face against his father's shoulder in his common needing reverie gesture and yawned. Frowning he ran the new word over in his mind. "What's elusive?" Then a pause. "Well, I think you deserve love Daddy. She might not but you do."
She didn't want to hear excuses or recriminations. She didn't want to be told that she was being fanciful or stupid. She just wanted Arthur to agree and do what she wanted. She stood there for a long time, just watching him and then sighed. "Don't worry about what I see in you. You need to tell me once and for all. Will you do what I'm asking of you or do I need to go find somebody else to do it instead?" She pulled away from him, unable to take comfort and swiped at the tears on her cheeks, getting herself under control. She hadn't let that many fall, only one or two. "Well?"

"I'm sure she has her moments too." Hell, Sevilin had seen a few of them. Her light could go out of her eyes too, just like anyone else. Though freaking little optimist that she was, it just didn't happen too often...Piper didn't like to appear anything less than capable and in charge in front of others. But the child didn't need to know that and Sevilin only pet lightly at his hair. "We'll get home, get some dinner, and then...how about we read a story and get some reverie?"
Though it seemed the child wasn't quite done yet either. Oh those were some powerful words for a child, even if he didn't know it. But he chose not to call that to Zykariel's attention and Sevilin merely tended to the simple questions. "Elusive...it means to be good at hiding, good at making sure no one or not many people see it."

Arthur paused for a second, he couldn't believe this! Just one difficult decision after another isn't it!? And it plagued him to the point where the cure wouldn't even work anymore! Why was he always in these kind of situations? Sighing lightly the elf stood there with a decision, to make love to Melody or to allow her to go off to the nearest human and ruin a perfect experience for her? After all he could easily out last her, elves had more endurance after all and he could make sure that...no accidents happen and she would wind up with something afterwards. Besides if he could give her something for hurting her; well this could be it, he could give her a certain kind of love that may be able to satisfy her body until she finds someone who will be able to take his place. Well with his mind made up the elf walked up behind Melody and placed his hands on her shoulders, he wanted to be careful with this of course, one slip up could screw them both up. "Well..." With a small smile on his face he turned Melody around and embraced her in his arms, his lips now pressed against her own soft pair for a moment before he pulled away. "How's that for an answer Melody?" He asked as his breath became more unstable, his blush growing darker as he held her close to his own body.

"I like that plan Daddy. It has food and storytime in there too." And that meant he'd get to curl up on Daddy's lap and listen to it which was one of his favorite places to be. He filed away the new word and then giggled. "Bugs are elusive sometimes when they see me coming. It's like they know I want to collect them."
She held her breath and waited while he made his decision. Yes she knew this was hard on him and yes she knew she was asking quite a bit. But really, it wasn't anything he hadn't done before or so she assumed. Most males her age had already been deviriginized and many of them had even sired a few bastards. She watched the light in his eyes dull and turned away thinking he had indeed made his decision. But alas, he was just a little slow. She kissed him back and then broke it. "I know of a perfect place." She grabbed his hand and led him into a small cave that she had used for her secret place when she was a child. Meeting his gaze, she easily shed her clothes and stood there waiting. "I don't...really know what to do..."

When Melody told him that she had a perfect place to allow their actions to take place he just nodded lightly and allowed her to lead him, after all he was the one going to take her virginity so he just needed to prep himself for the task ahead. So on the way he just tried to think things over he'll be making love to someone he cared so deeply about so he just allowed his mind to go over a few things to consider, after all she was human so things maybe are a tad different. Once they reached the place she wanted to go to he smiled lightly as he was lead into the small cave, it was kind of cute and he had a feeling no ne would be disturbing them so he felt safe. But right after they arrived Melody broke away and Arthur stood there, his eyes watching her as she took off her clothing until she wore nothing at all; and yet she looked so beautiful as she stood there waiting for him, but her words made him smile lightly, he had a feeling this would happen. "Don't worry Melody..." He said as he started to shed his own clothing, he disrobed his upper body first before walking over to the woman in front of him, he had to be gentle and he would make sure of it. By the time Arthur reached Melody he was down to just his pants, though he allowed his eyes to roam over her form before he reached out and pulled her closer to him, allowing skin to skin contact as his lips here placed inches from her own. "I'll take my time and when I'm done..." He smirked lightly as his fingers started to pulse with warmth once again. "You'll remember this night for the rest of your life..." He whispered as he brought her in for another kiss, his fingers starting his gentle assault as he gently lowered both of them to the floor, what happened soon after would only stay between them as the cave echoed the noises they made back unto themselves, and it sounded like sweet music to the ears.
