"Ha! You always seem to know what I need eh?! But hell a drink between two best friends is called for! So I accept!" A small chuckle to that but when the man called for Melody he looked back to where she was but noticed she was gone. "Maybe she left something in the forge? Oh well I'm sure she'll be fine!" He said with a large smile, Melody could take care of herself, after all he had grown up with her and he seen what she could do. So he wandered over to the table and sat down with a light grunt as the two mugs of ale suddenly appeared on the wooden surface. Alright then you want to talk? Then let's do so cheers..." A small clink of the mugs before he took a sip then set it back down on the table. "So as Melody tells me you got some good business flooding in..but who is this unknown fella? Does he live around here or what?"

"Oh, well see now I know these things." Not that he didn't already know thing, Sevilin was quite good with a sword in fact, but he jus preferred his polearm. Though wasn't it cute how all he was concerned about was whether he could still ride or not? Oh to be a child and that carefree, something Sevilin would never know. "Bet you could even gallop." Yeah lets slap our own death on there why don't we? The boy deserved what he wanted and if that meant Sevilin passing out when it was all over...well then so be it.

Malik finished his meal and first things first, went right up to his bedroom with Piper and stepped inside.

"How are you feeling? everything alright? no more double vision?"

Hey his turn to be concerned lover. After all he knew what head injuries coudl do from experience. he'd seen the effects.

She was getting reaquainted with the ceiling...or more so laying on the bed with her head hanging over the edge staring at said ceiling. Hm, probably not the best idea to let large amounts of blood run to your head when you've had a head injury. But she was known for less than best ideas wasn't she? Though her eyes sideglanced to Malik as he came back in and she sat up, then stood, rubbing at her head lightly. "I think I'm fine. I took something, and well there's only one of you standing there. We'll see what tomorrow brings. And yes in case you are wondering I did eat all of my dinner and enjoyed it without comaplint." She held up a hand at him and wiggled her fingers. "My hand is still crampy, but I think that's it. Have yourself a good dinner?" Okay, so she could still be angry with him and pleasant at the same time...was that scary in any way?"

"You think your fine but we don't know for sure. and I'll be keeping an eye on you. and yes, we had a good dinner, Malikhai is tending to that egg of his."

adn he walked over, taking her hand and rubbing it lightly, massaging where the cramped areas were. after all, he got those too, and knew how to deal with it some.

"If you want me to stop with these lessons, I will. But even as a toddler he's doing a fine job and I'd rather him be able to use something with skill to defend himself if he had to. I'm sorry I undermined you about it."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 25, 2006 6:47 pm

"I kind of figured that you would." Of course he would keep an eye on her, that was Malik's way. Even if he wouldn't admit it, he did hover sometimes. Letting him have at her hand without complaint, though here came that talk she was trying to avoid. "No you wouldn't. You and I both know that. You'd just do them in a way that I would never know about. And yes that is what I'm angry with you for...because now I am the bad guy because all I do is say no and that he's too little for things. While you are the good guy and you make everything just all nice." Taking a moment to pause and make sure she wasn't screaming or talking with that negative tone. "Knowing how to use a blade isn't going to save him if something bigger comes along." They knew that too. "The point is, why didn't you just even want to talk about it with me before you just went ahead and did it? You know how I feel about it."

"Which is precisely why I did it. if we talked about it, we'd argue, you'd look like a real bad guy. you're not the bad guy like you think. Nor am I the good guy. I don't let him do alot of things, and I don't plan on it. and your right, something bigger it may not help with. but it'll give him a fighting chance. And he is too little for many things, and I tell him so."

Leaning forward some.

"Wether we want to admit it or not, no defenses are foolproof. no matter how much magic or runics or power we can pour into defending our home, there's always something that can get through. or places we don't see. that's why I want him to learn magic. and swordplay. I want him to be able to at least defend himself enough to run. I would rather he knows how to take a stick and make it really hurt something and run than to flail with it and just get hurt worse."

Okay, a little paranoia there, but this was the underfoot, after all. not a friendly place.

"Would you rather I scream at you or be so angry with you that I wouldn't speak to you?" Which was more or less what had been happening a little earlier when she walked away from him without so much as explaination. At least is she was screaming he could calm her down then explain things to her. "I'm the one who always says no anyway...and when you tell him no, he doens't hold it against you. It's you imparting your ever wonderful knowledge. Not that I'm holding that against you, mind you because I know he hero worships you anyway." And half the time it was probably being a tiny bit overprotective, but hey this was the underdark...things liked to kill you for fun. Piper gave a sigh. "Yes I know that you were raised like that down here, and that I wasn't and that you would know better than that, but I can't help but want to coddle him. He's only three and probably the only child we're ever going to have unless a god intervenes next time or I'm drugged out of my mind." Though despite all her talking she was doing, she already knew she was going to give into him, didn't she? "Just...keep teaching him. At least it's you who's doing it. Besides, you've already given it to him, if I go and take it away...well things would just be bad."

Gavin thumped his mug against Arthur's and then downed about half of it in one gulp before grinning and wiping the froth off his face. "Well 'is name's Gildon and he jus' showed up in town one day. Came over and ordered a bunch of things. Ye ask me, I'll tell ye the truth. Lad's got his eye on me lass and he be thinkin' the more he orders, the more time he can spend with her. 'Course she don't see it and he's only frustratin' 'imself but that's not for me to be messing in. Let the lad make 'is own mistakes, I always say. Besides, that's the way I found my Missy."

"You do?" He thought about it for a minute and then it clicked. "Oh, yeah of course you do 'cause I just told you." He giggled at that and then grinned. "Well then what are we waiting for? Can't we go riding again? Unless you'd rather go swimming Daddy?"

Zahara chuckled inwardly and cleaned up the food that she had set out, ridding the area of any evidence that three elves had been there. No need for any Underdark creatures to sniff around and catch their scent then chase them down. She glanced at the blanket and gave it a tug. "If we're leaving, you guys gotta get up so I can fold this and we can get going."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 25, 2006 8:38 pm

Another nervous laugh on his part. "One thing at a time son...still working on the horse bit." And he was already getting anxious too, kind of twitchy. But a look over to Zahara as she tugged on the blanket and he got himself up and off the blanket, moving Zykariel as well too. "Yeah what are we waiting for...other than to have an anxiety attack or fall off and break our skulls." Of course that last part was mumbled under his breath and covered with a cough.

A small sigh.

"I'm not worth being hero worshipped...I don't want him to think some of the things I've done are 'good to do'. Hell I wish he wanted to be an archer like his mommy rather than a shadowknight like his father. Though I think the thought of necromancy doesn't mix well, so I don't have to worry about it so much. at least for now."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 25, 2006 9:08 pm

"You are to him, you're his father. And of course all the fun little stories I tell him. It's always about you Malik. He looks like you, wants to be like you. It's not such a bad thing dear." Shaking her head. Sometimes Malik was indeed very hard on himself when it came to such things. Though one of those passing 'I've had an amused thought' looks and a light shrug of her shoulders. "Maybe he'll want to be a paladin then...shadowknight without necromancy, right? He's not reserved enough to be a strict archer, I can already tell that." But then one of those looks of hers again. "Does it help if I say you're my hero too?"

that got a chuckle.

"A Paladin. the anti-thesis of the Shadowknight. father and son on opposite sides of the line between powers."

though a look over at her.

"Am I? I would think that Isle woudl be your hero, you both are little devils when your together."

taking her hand and giving it a kiss.

"It means alot to me, you know that."
PostPosted: Mon Dec 25, 2006 9:32 pm

"I think he'd make a right fine paladin. Perhaps teach him a few little shadowknight tricks and well that makes it all the better doesn't it? No necromancy yet the awesome fear insipring aspect when needed. A shadow paladin if you will." She could just go off on silly little tangents couldn't she. But she shook her head. "No, Isle is the elf ten years older than I that took it upon herself to 'expose me to fun' when I was old enough to drag around." A little chuckle at that before turning triple colored eyes up to his own steely ones. "Of course I know, I'm your wife. I know all those things about you...though they are nice to hear out loud, aren't they?" Just like when he would mention that he would rather have her with lopsided ears than without. She knew it, but it was better to hear it said sometimes. Most things were like that. "Now you're supposed to be on vacation, not worrying about little things. Don't tell me I'm busting my a** around here for nothing."

He ran over to the horse he had picked for the two of them to ride together, more than happy to be going and waited impatiently for Daddy to get himself in gear.

She heard it and shook her head at him though a grin was clearly on her face. "The things we say sometimes...if only others knew..." Giving him another sweet little innocent grin and walking over, hoisting Zykariel onto his horse before heading over to Faete. A few pats of affection and she was mounted and ready to ride. "So, Kariel, do you want to ride further or head back home?"

He debated for a moment and then shrugged. "Up to Daddy. He's not thrilled to be out as it is so he can decide. If he wants to go home that's okay with me. I got my ride so I'm happy."

Aww, wasn't that cute? Sacrificing his own enjoyment for the good of others. And this was the very reason the child was better off away from her. She would have never stopped riding early just because someone else wasn't happy. Sevilin had taught him that and good for him too. Thus raising an eyebrow at the other drow with a smile. "Where to Raven?"
