When did roleplaying come to mean exclusively writing?
I do realize that it is the main way we do things here. I was just trying to tell my story in a slightly different manner. Sorry for the disturbance.

Role-Play. Verb:
1. To assume the attitudes, actions, and discourse of (another), esp. in a make-believe situation in an effort to understand a differing point of view or social interaction.

I really don't see what the big deal is. If anything drawing up a comic like that seems to be more time-consuming than writing. I don't think you guys should jump all over Mag just because he tried something different.

I don't mind the comic, I would rather a post with words but as long as some one put effort into it...

Well, maybe a comic strip is harder to calculate point wise? Give them more points than they would have gotten if they had written it because in many ways it was more difficult. Or maybe not, maybe a person can draw up a strip like that with ease and actually find it more difficult to make a paragraph or two. I suppose the same would go for writing out ones post since people can be naturals in the art of written creativity. Or maybe that has absolutely nothing to do with it and it's just a personal preference that winds down to our own personal OCD-like tendencies. The point is, a request was made to not have it be in such a form and that's that. Rather than be the advocates of the revolutionary in all of us we shall let lying dogs lie. It's 11:40 pm and I'm really really tired. Don't know why I decided to post this, or even what I mean by it cause I can't make heads or tails of things right now. But I've been trying to click on the "X" in the corner of the window and something in the back of my mind won't let me do it until I've made this post. On that note, rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub. Good night Massachusetts!

1) I can see it being hard to determine the points. 2) The whole explaination section pretty much talks all about writing. 3) I made the RP intending for it to be written. I realize I am no longer in charge, but I'd be nice if my opinions were still respected.
Now, I have nothing against trying something new and I'm sorry if I seem snappy, but I feel really that the RP should remain word-base.

@Melph: If only dying in a fire weren't so painful, I'd definitely do that. :>
In regards to a comic being posted, I agree with Mitsu. I don't think we're jumping all over him. And, in fact, I think it's a neat idea and would be cool to see worked with if the image was accompanied by a full post. Or even having the post done, then have the image posted here in the OOC for the other posters to get an idea on how the writer wanted the battle to appear. However, Mitsu stated clearly in her rules that it's a text based RP. If she wanted to include images/allow images (outside the Wild Pokemon Appears!), then she would've expressed that in the original draft of the rules.
It's her RP. We can deliberate all we want, but in the end, it's what Mitsu says that goes.
The end.

I'm sorry to interupt the middle of a coversation such as this, but I'd like to say I'm finally coming back. For real this time. I know I've said a couple times in the past that I was going to become active again, and then have done nothing about. But I'm serious this time, and hope you don't all hate me for suddenly just letting my characters die out of the roleplay.

Sir Upper Crust the 3rd Well, maybe a comic strip is harder to calculate point wise? Give them more points than they would have gotten if they had written it because in many ways it was more difficult. Or maybe not, maybe a person can draw up a strip like that with ease and actually find it more difficult to make a paragraph or two This certainly took more time. I had to do an outline of what I wanted, draw the characters out of the scene. Do a scrap layout of the whole page and then proceed to draw the actual image. Of course I find drawing to be easy but writing is not particularly difficult to me either. I just haven't felt like writing for quite a long time, enough to actually stop RPing all together. But in an effort to keep myself invovled I did this comic.Max Slasher I don't think we're jumping all over him. I don't feel like I was being jumped on. I'll admit that my first reaction was that my creativity was being smashed into a million pieces but I know that I was a bit aggrivated that day from other things. I perfectly understand the other side of the arguement.Max Slasher However, Mitsu stated clearly in her rules that it's a text based RP. If she wanted to include images/allow images (outside the Wild Pokemon Appears!), then she would've expressed that in the original draft of the rules. Then again, it wasn't specifically outlawed. But where the rules are silent it is better to say things are not allowed than to assume that they are.Max Slasher It's her RP. We can deliberate all we want, but in the end, it's what Mitsu says that goes.
The end. Not so fast! For the most part, this is an American roleplay. Hence it could be considered more of a democracy. And with all (true) democracies there is the power of impeachment of the leaders or the power to add ammendments to the rules. Of course I do not mean to start a coup against the way this RP is run. I'm presenting this as one who enjoys debating and making ridiculous metaphors.
And welcome back Twilght Tulip. heart

And, dear. There is no such thing as a true democracy and never will be. <3

@darkmag07; Thanks. =]
@Mitsuko`; Remember mangagirl050? Or, Train/Kurine? That's me. =] My old account got banned, so I joined here as TayumiXIII, then ended up changing my screenname.
And, if I may, I'd like to add an opinion into that little argument... I think that the comic-roleplay might actually be a good idea for those who want to try it, but TTR has been a regular word-roleplay for so long it'd be too strange to change it now, so why not just create a different thread in the other roleplaying subforum for a comic-roleplay, and then both people are happy? Or just have an official Guild comic, that people can use to illustrate what they posted and put it there? (So I basically just said the same thing twice, but I hope you know what I mean. ^^; )

It took me a moment to remember who your character was when you first posted Train.
Comic roleplays are even less appealing than writing ones. Sure, some people may not be good at writing but they may be even worse at drawing. Plus not everyone has a scanner and the other materials that are required for a comic roleplay. Plus I don't want to run my own roleplay.

Welcome back, Train! 3nodding
I think that if someone feels the urge to draw up a comic of their character(s) they should feel free to do so and put them up in the OOC. Or we could make a TTR Art/Fanart/Comic thread or something for posting images and the like so they aren't lost in the sea of OOC pages.
I 'unno. Just a suggestion. I like seeing TTR art and stuff.
