Kumiko wrapped the exploding tag around the handle of her kunai, completely ignoring the sparring boys beyond a curt hello to Shinzu. She tossed the kunai high above her head, then formed the appropriate hand signs and sent a pulse of chakra above her head, approximately toward the airborne kunai. There was a heartbeat of silence.
Clang! The kunai dropped onto a rock, sending a clear ringing noise through the glade. Kumiko sighed, striding over to the knife and picking it up. She had a lot of work to do.

Kumiko contemplated the kunai knife for a moment, then flung it up in the air. Once again, she performed the snake hand signal and directed a blast of chakra toward the kunai knife. It exploded in a spectacular burst of metal shards. One clipped Kumiko's lip, drawing blood, but she didn't care. She smiled, and withdrew another kunai from the sack.

Shinzu had tried to dodge but evidently he was just a tad too slow, as Masanori hit him in the side. Shinzu acted accordingly stepping to the side with the pain of the hit, but it didn't really hurt that much. 'So he can hit me just not too hard.' Shinzu thought as he let loose a punch against Masanori's own side.

The punch had hurt, enough to make him cough up some air and follow with his whole upper body with the punch, towards the side the punch was comming into. "Ouch," he thought to himself as he landed on his side in the snow to then smoothly roll up upon his feet. But he didn't retreat, he wanted to continue fighting in melee, atleast for another attack. It would please him if he succesfully connected another punch or kick.
He slowly move towards Shinzu to then move his left arm quickly up towards Shinzu, as if he were to punch, but stopped midway to then follow up with his right hand.

Shinzu took the punch again, so Masanori was appartently pretty quick with his punches. Shinzu made a mental note to work on his dodging abilities after the fight, however for now he had to defeat Masanori and to do that he had to keep things close combat focused. So for his next attack spun on his left foot to build up momentum for the kick with his right foot.

Kumiko wrapped the tag around the hilt of the kunai and, after making sure it was secure, flung it into the air. She quickly interlaced her fingers and, closing her eyes, sent out a pulse of chakra. There was a heartbeat of silence.
BANG! The kunai knife exploded, not quite as neatly as it had before. Larger, sharper shards cut into the frosted tree trunks, but they barely pierced them, partly because of lack of force and partly because of the frost. Kumiko smiled again.

Kumiko rummaged around in her sack. She'd only brought twenty kunai, which may not be enough. Foreseeing this, she'd also brought several senbon, but she didn't want to use these; they were much harder to dodge and much more dangerous if she didn't. She'd borrowed fifty exploding tags, though, from the shop across the street from her house, on the condition that she work the cost off in manual labor. She'd done that already, and now she had her tags.
Kumiko grabbed another exploding tag and wrapped it around the hilt of the kunai. She flung it into the air, and in a motion that was quickly becoming habit, interlaced her fingers to form the snake seal and sent a pulse of chakra toward it. The kunai knife exploded in a flash of fire. Another shard clipped her temple as a puff of fine dust glittered in the sudden sunlight.

Shinzu's foot swept Masanori off of his balance and forced him to land straight on his right side, coughing when his back landed with a loud "thump" in the snow. "Aaah.." he whimpered under his breath, before coming to his senses and started to quickly crawl up to his feet and to take a few additional steps away from Shinzu. He was about to begin with one of his speciality. He reached for his kunai holster and picked up two kunais in his right hand. He then pulled his right arm across his chest, holding now, the kunais at the left side of his body, before pulling his arm to the right to then release his grip once his hand were in line with Shinzu.

Kumiko reached into her bag and tried to grab an exploding tag, but accidentally grabbed two. With a frustrated sigh, she reached to put one back--and stopped. She had an idea. She grabbed two more kunai, wrapping the tag around each hilt in turn. She flung both up into the air, interlaced her fingers, and sent two separate pulses of chakra toward each knife.
Clang! With a ringing clatter, both kunai hit the forest floor. Kumiko gave a sigh of disappointment and strode over to where they'd landed. She inspected the kunai. One's tag didn't even look to be harmed at all, while the other's looked as if it's started to detonate, but had fizzled out, as evidenced by it's blacked edges.
