Kilik's eyes widened as he watch Scizor fly through the air and land with a loud crash on the ground. He closed his eyes tightly as some dust was sent in his direction. As he opened them and the dust cleared, Scizor was standing up where she had landed. Her eyes were narrowed even more menacingly towards Raichu. She clamped her claws shut in a rage. Her wings flapped dangerously.

"Scizor!! Wing Attack!" Kilik called out, jamming a finger at Raichu.

She was gone in a green flash. "Sciiii--ZOR!" she cried out, her wings spread out as far as they could. Kilik looked over at Surge and gave him a thumbs up.

Elekid was now sitting on top of Kilik's head, making little jabs and kicks at the air to cheer on Scizor.

Flareon let out a bark of approval and hopped onto Kilik's shoulder, causing him to wobble towards that side, and continued to watch the battle.

Watching the gym match take place from the place she was leaning on in the corner for once she wasn't chearing for the challanger. If the kid won then that would probably put Giovanni in a foul mood, and it was probably all ready going to be hard enough to convince him to listen to her and him being pissy wasn't going to help. Meanwhile Meowth sat on Violet's sholder watching the battle silently as well not quite sure what to think. It had been a while since he had actually seen his former employer even though he had a new trainer now it was still a bit odd to break old habits.

"My my a Feraligator huh? Those are fairly strong, lets see where this heads Meowth." She said with a small grin on her face.

Meowth just shuddered. "Im just glad its not me facing that thing. It would probably make a meal out of me."

"More like a snack." She countered back.

"All right, Feraligatr!" the boy said, pointing at Rhydon, "Let's smack him hard! Attack with Surf!" The Pokemon growled lowly then closed its massive jowels. Water welled up in its mouth and it blasted outwards towards the horned Pokemon.

Rhydon roared in pain as the water smashed against its rock-armor plating. Giovanni raised an eyebrow. "Play the cards right and you might end up winning," he then shook his head, "But weaknesses must be overcome. A Pokemon who cannot defeat its weakness..." The Rhydon took a weak step forward, "is worth nothing!!" At this, a ball of electricity formed at the horn of Rhydon, "Attack with a Thunderbolt!" he demanded.

"WHAT?!" the boy cried out, taking a step back, "Rhydon can learn Thunderbolt?!" he gulped. He barely heard Giovanni over the sudden roar of anguish that Feraligatr loosed, but he swore he heard something about 'books' and 'studying'. "I don't need you to tell me how to raise my Pokemon!"

So defiant. This generation of children needs to all be taught a lesson.. he shook his head, Kilik liked books. He wouldn't have fallen into such an obvious trap. "Had I been a proper dealer, I wouldn't have had my hand still in play unless I had something up my sleeve. I know how weak Rhydon is to a type like your Feraligatr. If I wasn't so sure the cards were in my favor," he slipped his hand into his pocket, "I would have folded already."

"I too, happen to come from Hoenn. Lavaridge Town, to be exact." Themis rolled his eyes at his trainer's futile attempts at flirting, and sat down, licking a paw in his boredom.

"That's interesting," the woman nodded, pushing her long, dark hair behind her. "Say, why don't we have a battle? I've always wanted to see how tough Hoenn trainers are."

"Heh, sure," Keegan said, rising up to his full height. Right now he was very glad he'd opted to change his outfit later. "I'm up for anything you want to throw at me." He grinned broadly, not realizing just how dumb that sounded.

The girl, however, just laughed. "That's great. How does a three-Pokemon battle sound to you?" she asked, turning on a heel and putting some distance between them. "Oh, by the way, my name is Miko."

"Sounds great," the boy replied, scratching his head. "Nice to meet you, Miko. This is my friend, Da-err... Diana, and I'm Keegan."

"Likewise," Miko called back. "Let's get started, then! You're up first, Flare! Go!" She threw a Poke Ball out onto the ground, and from it came a very eager looking Growlithe. It barked several times, its tail wagging back and forth.

"A fire type," Keegan mused, glancing down at Themis. Normally he would have sent out Althena, but this girl was interested in Hoenn Pokemon. "Okay then, Themis, you're up," the boy called encouragingly, as the Electrike jumped up, the static generated by its body causing some of Keegan's stray hairs to stand on end.

Flannery placed her hands on her hips, and shook her head, clearly unimpressed. "Are you daft? Or is the heat just getting to you?" she shot back, annoyance shining on her usual pleasant face. She watched Nitro attack, and shook her head. "Unbelievable." Her expression melted into one of pure stoicism, and she pointed at Nitro. "Slow that overgrown lizard down with a Rock Tomb."

Camerupt, although looking a bit shaky from the Charizard's fierce attack, roared loudly as a quartet of sharp rock pillars shot up from the ground, encasing the Charizard in a stone prison. Flannery stood very still, her eyes focused on the battle, and nothing more.

Riding slowly through Azalea Town, Miharu made her way towards the entrance to the famed Ilex Forest. She was a fairly short girl, with chin-length green hair and expressive green eyes. She wore a dark outfit, black Capri’s and a black shirt, mid-length sleeves with purple rings adorning the cuffs. She wore a simple pair of black shoes on her proportioned, small feet, A fair-sized, metallic Pokemon floated behind her, occasionally spinning and twirling in the air. They passed by the gym, Miharu gazing longingly at it as she came to a stop. "Not yet," she murmured, gasping as the Metang bumped into her, having not noticed that its trainer stopped. "Watch where you're going, Tingle!" the girl shouted, rubbing her shoulder where the Pokemon had run into her. The Pokemon gave a shrug, humming to itself. Miharu gave an annoyed sigh, and stared at the ground for a moment before she glanced up at the gym again. "Someday soon," she nodded, kicking off and riding away, becoming aware after a few seconds that her Metang was not following her anymore.

"TINGLE!" she hollered, making an unbelievable amount of noise for such a tiny girl. She turned around and hastily made her way back to where the Pokemon remained, one of its long, clawed forearms held straight up in the air while the other touched the ground, the strange Pokemon was spinning like a top. "You're such a retard!" the girl sighed, holding up its Pokeball and recalling it.

Sparks flew in every direction; the Raichu was looking as enraged as Scizor was. Surge gave a hearty laugh, his hands on his hips. "That's enough," he said, holding up a hand. A surprised gasp escaped the Raichu, who stared at Surge in disbelief. "There's no need for senseless damage to be done, the outcome of this battle has already been decided." After a second or so, Raichu became calm, his ears drooping a little in disappointment. He dashed across the floor and leaped up onto Surge's shoulder, looking relieved. Deciding it was safe, Flash jumped up from his position and trotted over to where Surge stood, his ears twitching from the excitement of the battle.

"I knew you had it in you, boy," Surge nodded. He snapped his fingers, and from behind them, an expressionless Magnemite floated out into the arena, making buzzing sounds as it reached Surge. The gym leader reached out, steadying the magnetic Pokemon with one meaty hand while he detached something from its side. He nodded, and the Pokemon floated lazily back to whatever it had been doing before it was summoned. The large man tromped across the arena, and stood, towering over Kilik as he held out a clasped fist. Slowly, he uncurled his fingers to reveal a Thunder Badge. "Wear it proudly, y'hear?" He also handed Kilik a clear case, contained within was a yellowish disc. "It's Shock Wave. I reckon your lil' Spark Plug'll make good use of it." Once the spoils of victory had been distributed, Surge held out his hand once more. "Good going, Kilik. Nothing makes me happier than to see rising young stars in the world of trainers. Don't be a stranger, drop by if you're ever in Vermilion and we'll have a rematch."

The attack was super effective, but Nitro's near double level advantage left the Rock Tomb more than a glancing blow. "Type advantages may be in your favor, but Nitro and I have trained together for a long time. I'll show you not to underestimate me!" Mike had been belittled and never taken seriously for too long, he was sick of not being recognized. I can raise a damn good team of Pokemon, just watch me Flannery. I'm more of a trainer than you'd ever believe! He grit his teeth, trying to hold back his frustration. A warm trickle moved down his face. Huh? Mike had bitten his lip in anger, a little trickle of blood sliding down his face. He messily wiped it from his face, a rather sinister smear decorating his cheek.

"Nitro, show her that type doesn't mean everything, Fly high and strike hard!" The Charizard roared in confirmation, flapping it's wings. In second Nitro was in the air, lining up the hopeful finishing blow.

You're my last hope Nitro, don't let me down.

Keegan rubbed his hands together, eager to get started. The same feeling was reflected in Themis, who barked sharply himself, snapping his jaws at the puppy Pokemon. Deciding it best to not waste any time, Keegan immediately set the Electrike on the attack. "Quick Attack!" Using Thunder Wave would most likely be too obvious; the boy crossed his fingers, hoping that Themis's Static ability would kick in.

"C'mon Flare! Ember attack!" Miko cried, a glimmer of excitement appearing in her eyes. The Growlithe reared back, loosing a small burst of flames at the Electrike, who charged right through them. He lowered his head, ramming into the Growlithe. It yelped painfully, turning and growling menacingly at the Electrike. Not letting himself be intimidated, Themis growled right back.

Scizor remained on the battlefield, still itching to battle against Raichu. She felt that unless her opponent had fallen in battle, it wasn't a win. The boy held up a Park ball and called her back. "Enough's enough, Scizor." He watched her disappear into the ball. He then looked back at Surge, taking the badge and disc. Elekid sparked about happily. Flareon stared at the Jolteon then to the Raichu that was on Surge's shoulder.

"Thanks, Surge," Kilik said, "I'll wear this badge with more pride than my others. And anytime you want, I'd be up for a rematch." He gave the Lt. a thumbs up and headed toward the front door. He then paused in the doorway as it opened. "And Surge? Next time, I'd like to test Flareon out against Jolteon." He disappeared from the Gym, elated that the ThunderBadge was finally his. He then looked up at the sky, causing Elekid to grip his hair. "Elekid! We won! And we got a new move for you." He spun the disc casually around his finger. Something in his pocket moved. Quickly, he pulled out a shaking Pokeball and Weezing burst onto the scene.

"Weezing!!" it cried out. The Pokemon was in tears, spewing out heart shaped smoke. Elekid let out a frightened squeak. It bumped up against Kilik's face, causing Elekid to fall onto the ground with a thud.

"Ele! Ele! Elekid!" he whined, tears streaming down its face. Flareon blinked at the two crying Pokemon then looked at Kilik. The Fire-type began to make short, consecutive barks that sounded more like a laugh. Weezing spewed more heart shapes into the sky, still crying heavily with Elekid.

"So, Weezing, you're overcome with emotion! I get it!" Kilik said, trying to push the Poison-type away, but was continually bumped up against. He sighed, "I never get a break with you, do I?"

Miharu climbed back up on her bike (it was harder than it looked for one so small), and continued to ride towards the forest. An explosion caught her eye, and curiously, she headed towards it, in time to see two female trainers both recall fainted Dratini. Her curiosity far greater than ever, she hopped off her bike and found a place out of the way so she could watch the remainder of the battle. She nodded in approval at the sight of a Vulpix and a very cute Totodile. She sat down on a patch of warm grass, not at all surprised as a second later, one of her Poke Balls started to shake, and a Bulbasaur popped out. "Hello Lily," Miharu smiled, patting the little grass Pokemon as she settled into the girl's lap.

Mag and Sunfire exited the cave. The bright sunlight streamed upon them. In the distance they could see the outline of the great Cerulean City. "Well here we are bud." Mag said to his pokemon as the two began to naviagte their way down the ledges towards the main path that lead to the city.

"The deck wasn't shuffled like you wanted?" he laughed, "Luck must be against you." Rhydon clenched its stubby fists. "Let's attack with another Thunderbolt, shall we?"

"Feraligatr! Move in with an Ice Punch!" The alligator Pokemon ran forward slowly, its fist drawn back and icicles forming around it. The fist collided with Rhydon's stomach just as a bolt of electricity struck him. Both Pokemon were sent flying back and landed on the ground with massive crashes. The smoke cleared to reveal a double-knockout.

"Hmm," he grumbled, holding up a Pokeball in his ringed fingers. A red beam shot out and collected Rhydon, pulling it back into the confines of the ball. He slipped it into his pocket, pulled out another and flicked his wrist. The lights were nothing compared to the flash that revealed his Kingler. Part of its massive claw was chipped. A piece of its crown was missing completely. Scars marked all over its body.

"Feraligatr, return!" he said. The Pokemon disappeared into the Pokeball. One final ball was thrown, revealing a green Pokemon unfamiliar to the Kanto region. "A Treecko that needed to be nursed back to health..thanks to me!" He laughed. A Sceptile let out a soft growl.

"The deck has been reshuffled, the cards redealt and it's a whole new game.." he whispered, "So let us play." He snapped his fingers.

"Damn, that spearow still isn't giving up... Alright Enough Larvtar, counter with bite attack!" Larvitar opened his eyes and immediatly the storm began to calm down, but it's remnants continued to spin. As the Spearow came darting downwards at Larvitar, he opened his jaws wide and leapt forward to meet spearow in the air.

Dante watched the battle with slight amusement, and a bit of confusion. He was leaning agains't a wall with a small smirk on his face and Kenny was still hanging onto his shoulder half in the wall and half out of it. One he was amused because he liked watching a good battle and was hoping Keegan would provide a battle for his amusement, that and the fact that he was going to do his best to mess up Keegan's flirting. A wicked little grin on his face he called out to Miko. "I bet my boyfriend can beat you!" He cast a sly almost dark grin at Keegan, after all he did need to find a way to amuse himself and this would help his image of being a girl. he hoped anyway. Kenny just snickered from his shoulder finding this whole situation amusing.
