After she was done cleaning her lenses, she held them up to the light to make sure they were clean, then put them back on her face. She looked over her shoulder at him and nodded. "Yep. I'm ready."

Mari kicked off her shoes and sat down on the bed beside him. She let out a sigh and moved her hands up to her face so she could take her glasses off. She couldn't move her fingers that well, but she managed to take them off and put them on the nightstand.

She layed down on her side and faced towards him. She smiled gently and reached her bandaged hand over to play with his hair a bit. She didn't respond to his statement. Her actions were speaking louder than what any word would. It was what she was supposed to do. It was what she wanted to do, mostly.

She rolled towards him so her back was against his chest. She wanted him to hold her like that. The smile didn't fade from her face and she didn't press into his chest too hard because she was afraid she might hurt the gun wound.

She closed her eyes and let out a sigh. She didn't see how she saved his life. She didn't block the bullet and if it was anywhere closer, he would be dead right now. "I don't know how I saved your life, but I love you too."
