It is always irritating to an extent when he's right. But with no rest for the wicked, the dexturous foe of Trei parried the attempt of landing a harsh blow against his back head with a simple gesture of his blade in response. By switching the hold of his blade during the run, Snow switched his hold from a formal grapple to a sudden dagger hold, using the back of his forearm to block the frozen swipe while he continued the run.

In an instant, the contact of his blade against the frozen arm gave him the urge to increase his speed, jumping out of harms way before he whirled back, the weapon slashing through the air with a quick, soft screech.

To keep up the attack...

He then went for another dash again, switching his hold back to normal as the blade then skidded on the ground, drawing a big circle around the opponent - as if judging his next course of action.

However...

With the circle drawn on the ground....

What could it be?

((Dammit, what happened to my post?))

As his parry impacts Trei's frozen arm, the appendage shatters, proceeding to rain fleshy, bloody chunks of ice down onto Snow's back and shoulders. Appetizing, ya? Unfortunately, Trei's attack had been a one shot deal; at least, for that part of it. On a good note, as far as a blood elemental is concerned, the crusted over stump has been exposed, meaning he has easy access to a much larger "weapon," without sacrificing more stability of his own flesh.

Thus, as Snow circles one way, Trei will whip around in the other, swinging so that their paths will intersect... and violently, at that. As the collision nears, Snow will find himself charging face-first into a flail of bloody tentacles, eight sharp edges hurtling towards his face, sprung from the very wound he had inflicted only seconds before. Unless the warrior is immaterial, odds are his routes gonna have to change, rather than continuing his loop...

Might as well make the best of it.

Well, so much for washing the stains off his cloak soon. Dammit, and he was just planning to go to the laundry area soon to patch up on some tears on his cloak...

Ah well.

Seeing that Trei obviously wants to have a bloody, violent clash - face to face - literally, Snow can only oblige to the opponent's need for such measures with a dark smile. Lowering his weight a bit so that more pressure is forced onto his legs, as soon as he got close enough - judging, about, three feet away from the nasty looking tentacles - Snow lifted his sword up from the ground, the line on the ground continuing on as if something else is guiding it.

And with it, Snow muttered one word;

"Flow."

Shards of ice suddenly blasted out of the line he drew as it followed the intended trail, the sharp edges large enough to block the tentacles from fully reaching Snow himself.

Not to mention how it's erupting from the ground...if Trei plans to continue on - then he best as well be prepared for some multiple entry wounds if struck.

If all goes as planned, Snow wouldn't stay at one spot for too long, leaning his body back so that he can quickly shift strides away and evaluate the damage done to the opponent before attacking again.

There is a disgusting ~Shlrrrrpp~ noise as all of the flagellates suck themselves back into Trei's amputated elbow, causing his arm to skim along the side of the ice wall before coming level with Snow once more...

There will be a half a second of Trei standing there, arm levelled like a gun, before the chaos picks up again. Shards of chrystallized blood, condensed and hardened (roughly bronze hardness), burst from the severed extremity, a shot-gun blast of nasty that's hurtling towards Snow. If he gets hit, he's got two worries; one, the impact wounds. Two, the fact that its foreign blood entering his body, which will splinter on impact and spread through his blood stream. His immune system will immediately go nuts, and any organ that the blood comes in contact with will enter a state of rejection and shock that could very well cause it to shut down. Not fun...

((Btw; out of curiousity. I've spent a little over a third of my mana at this point. Yourself? ))

Just as expected from the previous post, Trei did come up with a rather nasty plan. But unfortunately for Snow, it wasn't his expectations that the blood of Trei can be withdrawn back and forth at will on the whim.

And not expecting what Trei just did, Snow - thankfully - already had his body in motion when the shrapnel blast of blood rained forth, speeding towards the fiery doom of Snow's right side during the motion. Using some of the ice that were left over, Snow made a desperate attempt to block most of the shots -

But...

His right arm was shot backward as a few of the shards managed to lodge themselves right into Snow's forearm, causing it to deaden and go limp from the blast itself. Realizing that his arm was infected with something when he felt his senses go berserk after the pain, Snow quickly darted in a backwards arc to the left, using that to gain some distance and to evaluate his damage.

"Sh--"

His right arm was completely dead, unable to be moved and used. Gritting his teeth, he quickly channeled some of his own stamina and energy to squeeze out the foreign substance, using his own blood as a catalyst to freeze and trap the infectious blood of Trei and spill it out of the impact wounds.

And now Snow stood there, holding with only his left hand and his right arm bleeding profusely with the attempted jettison of Trei's blast. Obviously, things aren't going too well for Snow.

So Trei can use the blood to his advantage...and use it like a whip...

Forced and cornered, Snow's only option is to rely more on his depleting mana, using that to wrap around his body a bit as he gathered moisture from the air, a partial method to replenish his energy and to also make up for his right side, now defenseless if Trei tries to attack again.

"If that's the case..."

Dammit. And just when I was planning to save this move for the finals...

He waited, using his toes to shift his weight apart for quick motion, seeing if Trei will take the bait to charge forth by putting himself intentionally at a disadvantage, a momentary gap where his defense is gone.

Or is it?

(( I'm charging up the energy I wasted by absorbing the moisture back - and using that to replenish some of my mana. I've spent about the same like you, but I'm recharging a bit. ))

For a brief, morbidly comical moment, the mostly-berserk Trei tilts his head to the side like a confused dog... however, this moment lasts for only a moment before he levels his arm at his opponent once more, the bloody stump seething with ichorous ire ((always wanted to use that one. >.>)). However, something changes... wisps begin to float around the young man's body, coming together in front of the stump to form a seething ball of energy, behind which three claw-like tendrils of blood emerge...

There is no further warning; no voice, no sound. In a violent explosion, the blood launches forward, a make-shift hand attached to a long stream ((Think Picollo's extendy-arm)) pushing the ball of explosive energy ((enough strength to blast 6 inch crater in solid hard-stone)) rapidly towards the apparently open Snow. If it hits it's target- the man's chest- Trei won't be the only one revealing his "inner self."

((This combined attack takes double the energy to pull off))

His eyes flashed red as the scent of blood got to him. Shaking the uneasy feeling of something crawling within his skin, Snow continued to maintain his pose, with his weight on his toes so he could give a burst of speed whenever he wants - either side, regardless.

But when the opponent's arm suddenly lengthened...

"Here we go!"

As if something is materializing out of Snow's body, a sudden thicket of ice blasted its way out of his clothing as it shattered and caused a bright brilliance of light - like a flashbomb - as Snow dashed to his left, going in an arc towards Trei's right position.

Moisture began to thicken especially around Snow and the area around Trei, but this move needs at least another post before it can be used - when the humidity in the air is thick enough to channel.

Using the decoy ability of the light was a method to momentarily paralyze and blind the opponent, buying Snow some time to prepare the move needed for the next assault. His right arm is healing slowly - the regenerative state of water increasing cell reproduction and repairs within the vessels and muscles, but for another 6 posts it won't even be useful until then.

I wonder... do you know what happens when you strike a cornered beast blind?

The flare works; the berserk blood elemental is effectively blinded, causing him to unleash a disturbing cry of pain that sounds more like he's drowning than anything else. However, the pain is coupled with still more rage, more 'fight" instinct to overwhelm the saner "Light psyche's" self-protective instincts. The result is brutal...

From all over Trei's body, Flechettes of hardened, razor-sharp blood burst out, hurtling with near-bullet speeds in an almost complete 360 degree x 360 degree sphere, a mad flail in an attempt to nail Snow before he can exploit the opening. These are not aimed, and by no means is it a carpet blast; however, there are enough to make dodging rather difficult. On top of this, Trei's artificial extremity, the bloody extendo-arm, whips back around, separating into multiple smaller coils what whistle through the air with enough force to lash flesh from bone. Again, this isn't exactly the most accurate attack; but what it loses in control, it gains in power...

In the darkness of Trei's mind, the light psyche's struggle continues, to stop his embodied id from pulling his own body apart in its attempt to kill the random opponent...

Out of desperation, a beast, regardless of being blind or not, will strike.
But Snow has not yet dealt the blow - and in such, the beast must be afraid of not what Snow can do -

But what Snow will do.

Like some sci-fi movie coming forth into reality, the move was prepared, and charged for use. Water which was floating around within the battleground of this hellish fight was compacted enough to give Snow the proper element he needs to compensate for his....right side.

And that is, fluidity.

The retaliation was, unfortunate, what Snow had to expect. With all the blood under the opponent's command, it only meant to Snow that projectiles - like the shotgun blast which riddled his right arm before - would be used again when he blinded the foe. But since that he can't get close without being attacked by the flailing beast, this is the method in which he was waiting for.

Water began to materialize in midair before forming a shield in front of his position a few feet away, immediately solidifying and causing the bullets which were flung by the opponent to ricochet and be blocked by the shield's....spherical surface. It was only for a few seconds in which the moisture he's using for his attack acted - in a surprising effective manner - a method to defend before the calm of the storm. And like a torrent which is ever so agile, the frozen solid piece of ice - approximately two to three feet by radius, shattered itself apart and launched the roaring surge of water right towards the opponent's blinded body.

Because of the buoyancy and the flexibility of the water in a state of liquid, even the thrash made by Trei's hand would pass through it, not stopping the water from lashing forth to the position --

As thin, but deep cuts and hacks were suddenly visible on the ground in which it left its wake. As if the water itself is turning into razor-sharp shards of knives by just using the speed in which it travels...

This would make more cuts on the dexturous opponent, and also act as a failsafe to block and fend if Trei launches anymore volley blasts of blood against Snow.

There was one extra benefit...but depending on the situation, Snow'll have to keep his distance and get away from the range of the blood blast to evalutate and judge on the spot.

Speaking of which...

Just how much blood can the opponent use before there's the symptom of...too much blood loss?

Good news; Snows attack works. Bad News: As long as Trei has any form of organics left in his body to consume, he can make more blood; though it may come at the cost of the final vestiges of humanity, the golem organs that allow his body to function like a humans rather than becoming a pure being of Blood. Luckily, it has not come to that yet... he has been metabolizing loose matter within his blood stream, as well as food from within his stomach, though that's running low now. Like I said; if the Light Psyche doesn't regain control, the Dark Psyche will tear Trei's body apart...

Another unfortunate thing is that Trei's vision is coming back, impaired as it may be, and he can see that something's not right. Once more, the tentacles retract; however, the ball of energy that was carried within them is released as they do, being flung through the stream of water towards snow once more; not as fast as one might have hoped, but still pretty quick. Unfortunately, Trei's desparate attempt to get an attack off forces him to take slashes across the chest, shoulders, arms, and thighs, cuts that he rapidly rushes to either clot or turn into spider-webbed zones, depending on where they are.

Fool me once, shame on me; the spiderwebs on Trei's left forearm begin spreadingout, consuming the flesh beneath them to build into their blood supply as they shift and move, becoming a taloned gauntlet, it seems. What remains of his right arm does the same; however, rather than reform an armored hand, he leaves his elbow as it is, not wishing to waste energy that could be used for attack or defense. If he had any sensations left, the pain would be magnificent; his skin being stripped away, consumed by the blood, eaten by his own powers, as it were. Luckily, he's spared that.

For a moment, his eyes clear amidst the torrent, and three words escape his blood-crusted lips: "Rain for me..."

And with that, he moves, his arms crossing in front of his body as he turns to face the torrent head on (if ithas been held up past his original shot), and fight his way through it if necessary...

All in all, the decisive battle between the two injured foe was almost even. Losing his right side to the shotgun blast before, and Trei being nearly impaired in eyesight and body from his last attack, Snow was already moving beyond the borders of middle range combat just as Trei threw the remains of the spherical energy at him.

With distance gained, it only meant that Snow had more time to react rather than be dumbfounded as he again lurched to the left to dodge the strike, currently his more predominant side since his right is disabled.

One shot...if only I can get one shot in...

If it weren't for the loss of his right, he could've dealt a much more fatal blow...

Gritting his teeth, his blade trembled under his grasp as he manipulated the water once more with the blade, letting the roaring wave of the increasing force swerve this way and that in the air like a striking snake. Since Trei has shown him sincerely what he can do with his blood...

Then Snow will show what he can do with water.

He pointed a finger at Trei - approximately 2 meters away, give or take during his self retreat - with the blade held up, pointed towards the sky. The rushing water that went forth to bombard Trei suddenly splitted itself apart, both sides breaking away from Trei's defensive block in front of his body --

Only to return the momentum of the strike right at Trei's spine and hip joints.
Water, to Snow, can be manipuated like a missile. He can let it bombard the enemy repeatedly like a barrage, or let it swerve in midair to attack the enemy's exposed areas on the whim.

But the problem is that it's starting to take its toll on his weapon -- after all...

That's the channeler in which he uses it to channel and enhance his own attacks.

The berserk blood elemental watches for a moment, his good eye baleful and dark as the wave splits; however, no creature is foolish enough to sit still for the scissor. As the wave splits, he bursts forward at full speed, moving faster than he has all fight as his make-shift extremity reforms and hardens, forming a mighty armor that he thrusts forward to break the coming wave.

As the arm thrusts forward, a second ball of wisps forms, then warps, spreading out into a buckler about 3' in radius and gently curved, to help divert the water around his hand.

There is only one goal at this point; one desire that drives him forward.

Reach Snow.

And smash his face in.

As Snow would love to say, if one plan doesn't work, improvise.

Since Trei seems to have abandoned the method for being a sandbag for Snow, the idea was impressive, to say the least on how Trei used his hand as a buffer for the roaring torrent of fluids and water. But since the initial strike didn't work, Snow quickly aimed the lethal edge of the blade at Trei, muttering something under his lips.

Immediately the water still in front of Trei halted its movement, some gently striking the opponent's body while the water behind him rushed after the opponent at high speeds, caging the fighter into being bathed under Snow's manipulative water.

And here is where the second idea comes in.

Just as it seems all is lost for Snow, the water curved this way and that to, instead, wrap itself around Trei's head...

And suffocate the ability to breathe by going up the exposures within the eyes, the nose, the skin pores, and literally drowning the opponent under the fluids itself.
And to add an extra catalyst to deliver the next consecutive strike, if the opponent still tries to rush...

Snow lurched his left side back, now turning the blade so it's ready for an impale.

But not an impale, as there was a secondary factor he would deliver, once the tip of the blade comes into contact with the exposure of water he left on Trei.
PostPosted: Wed May 23, 2007 8:57 am

The water rushes in, and Trei shifts his body slightly, holding his breath and gathering another burst of energy; how does he shift, you ask? By turning his body sideways, "Shield" first, and lowering himself directly into the oncoming torrent, he turns the "shield into a sail that yanks him forward thrusting him with blinding speed towards his foe, his left arm giving birth to a two and a half foot long blade of blood that the whisps immediately begin to circle around, bathing it in iridescent light. As he hurtles through the air, he holds this blade in a stabbing position behind him, about halfway down the blade's length...

The plan: Ram into Snow shield first, without actually touching the man. Then: stabby stabby. At least, that's what it looks like...

(( Hmm...I'll need to find another method to drown you then. domokun ))

Very well then. Since both are now fighting at optimal strengths and now losing energy as much as they're spending, Snow decides to deliver a last-ditch attempt to bring Trei's damned blood down with a Hiken (Secret) Technique;

It was initially an incomplete move, and Snow wasn't planning to use it because of not knowing the side effects or the outcome if he delivers it. A risky move to take, and especially with his remaining defense and offensive capabilities on his left side, he decides to risk it to end Trei once and for all.

A blue, silverish light began to bathe around the hilt of Snow's blade, rising and circling the droplets of water clinging onto the metallic surface with a low hum. The spectators who may be watching the show would feel a slow audible thump within their bodies as the blade began to resonate with the water, sending ripples of infrasound and soft melodic tunes into the air, vibrating like an orchestra playing its last finale piece before the Grand Concerto.

"Speak not my life."

Some of the waters coating Trei's body began to seep into the skin pores, where the muscles and the blood vessels resides.

"For life is ye, ex Inferius mortae."

And with it, Snow stabbed right towards Trei's position, the water in front of the two foes bursting apart by the immediate solidifying of the liquid itself. Using the water as the catalyst, it was a chain reaction that caused the exposed water to contract and transmit the sudden freeze to the fluids in front.
With the bubble of water still held around Trei's face, the exposed skin - eye pore, mouth, nose, ears - those that were exposed to water would be immediately solidified - and able to be shattered by the merest touch of breadth itself.

It wouldn't stop Trei from ramming right into Snow, but he's well determined to halt Trei's advance, even if Snow himself may be seriously injured in the process.
