As Alice began to leave she'd here a high pitched sound resembling air being released from a pin p***k hole in an inner tube ">HAAAAAAAROOOOOOOLD!<" The voice called in what for Vorpal would translate as a shrill scream. Coming down from above a Driftloon with her 'hair' in a bun would float over to the Driftloon and it's cookie, fury in her face ">HAROLD! WHAT HAVE I SAID APPROACHING STRANGE CHILDREN!? YOU KNOW ABOUT YOUR COURT ORDER!<" She screeched, the other Driftloon suddenly cowed as it sniveled ">...yes dear....<" Apparently he was weak to more than Dark and Electric-types.

The seas were rougher this time as the boat tread through the water. Canoes weren't exactly designed for large bodies of water. He watched the island get closer. As the boat made landfall, he slowly proceeded to exit the boat carefully so it wouldn't tip.

It seemed Hiro qas quite lucky... perhaps he was destined for greatness. Or perhaps Peek-a-boo needed to work on his maze-making skills. However it was, Hiro foundhimself faced with... himself. Or rather, his body. It lay on an upraised wooden platform, surrounded by glowing pumpkins... and a couple friendly Pumpkaboo, which stood guard. From an outsider's perspective, it merely seemed like Hiro was sleeping, more deeply and peacefully than most humans could ever achieve. The body's breathing was worryingly so, but it didn't seem being separated from its soul had any real damage.
>Well, well, well!< From above the amaze floated down the Gourgeist, who would come to a hovering stop just over Hiro's body. >Impressive! That's the fastest I've seen a former human find their body... perhaps you're more naturally attuned to the spirit world than I gave you credit for.< The Pumpkaboo below him chattered curiously, but Peek-a-boo only had eyes for Hiro. >As promised, you found the center of the maze, so I'll return you to your body... and I'll even give you a little something extra.< He would lean forward over Hiro's body, and slip something into the unconscious youth's hand. >But...< Here he'd lean in close to Hiro, smiling. >Are you certain you wouldn't like to stay here with me? You've taken to death quite well.<

As Tao exited the boat, he'd find himself faced with a familiar rocky landscape....
Restless Volcano
A strange rocky land that always seems to be hot, no matter the time of day. The ground occasionally churns beneath the feet of any poor traveler who happens upon these shores. Keep an eye out whenever you take a step—you’re likely to take a fall down a particularly jagged rock slide, and you might not like what you find at the bottom. Still, as any good adventurer knows, it’s the roughest paths that brings the most rewards!... Sometimes. In the very least, it’s where you are now, so suck it up, roll up your pants, and try to avoid any lava.
When Hiro reached his destination, he discovered himself a pretty much unharm, which was a relief, and he was quite surrounded, which meant no funny business.
It kept him on his best behavior as he listen to the ghost's compliments. He of course would have proudly proclaim his greatness to the world but really right now, he was all for not being dead anymore or ...half alive or whatever was happening to him right then.
So, he was on his best behavior for the sake of survival.
"Oh no, thank you so much, but being a ghost just doesn't agree with me. You see ....its kinds of fun going through things and such, but you know, I got other responsibilities and ...my body is calling me and such. So, you just got to listen to that sort of thing."
The boy explains as he goes close to his body. It wasn't like he knew what to do to get back in it, and so, he simply went with the flow and decide to try and touch his body to see what would happen.

Peek-a-boo chuckled at Hiro's response-- still so young. Perhaps he'd ripen, or perhaps he'd be crushed in his prime. And so impatience. >As you wish. A pity; in a few years, you'd have made a wonderful Trevenant...<
With a swooping, graceful move, the Gourgeist would swing himself behind Hiro's so, and give the ghost a spiritual shove. Body and soul would merge in a blaze of light and energy... once again, Hiro would be knocked unconscious.
But when he woke up this time, he'd be in his body. And out of the graveyard-- Hiro had been returned to where he was when he'd met the Gourgeist. His body no worse for wear, it'd be easy to dismiss the whole situation as a dream... if not for the Persim Berry that now rested in the palm of his hand. [Hiro gains a Persim Berry!]

Well, this Pokemon seemed... agitated. And an agitated Pokemon was a potentially dangerous one. Alistair's instinct was that of fight or flight; to retreat or push blindly forward. Honestly, he was still getting used to the concept of battles. Given his last battle against a grass-type had gone poorly for his opponent... he stood back, watching and debating.
And again, her trainer was waffling. With a sigh, Lucy leapt off her trainer's shoulder to land in front of the Roselia. >I'm sorry about your cousin,< she remarked sincerely. >But he wouldn't let us move forward, and my trainer and I have a mission. We'll fight you if we have to, but don't make his mistake.<

Hiro woke up feeling more than a bit disoriented as he press one hand to his forehead.
Why was he out here?
What had happen?
And, why was he laying on the cold ground?
Slowly the boy would get up and stretch as he feels something in his hand. He would take one look at the Persim Berry, and everything came rushing back to him. As Hiro would look around nervously before pocketing the berry.
He had never before come so close to defeat, and he had to admit, he didn't like it at all. His eyes shifting to watch the area around him as he would do something that he almost never did before. He would call out a pokemon as the reddish light would form into his recently captured Dwebble.
The pokemon looking around at him, he of course had been expecting to appear in the forest first, but this wasn't to be.
"Hi, Fluke, look I need a traveling companion in his place. You feel up to the challenge?"
He asked the bug type as he quickly nods, and Hiro picks him up off the ground to carry with him. He would not be caught unaware a second time.
Hiro continued his trek through the crater. The place was odd to say the least, but he kept on the middle path. His vision was straight and true as Fluke would wiggle a bit in his grasp. It was one thing to be in his jacket, but another one to be carried constantly.
He would flail around a bit after a small jump over a cervices in the earth. He would land a bit heavier than normally as he would lean down put the bug pokemon down.
"I guess, you are saying you want to walk."
"Dweeeble ...Dwee."
he declares to Hiro with a nod as they continued their track side by side.. (6/10)
Tao looked at the volcano once again. Another day, another climb. He began walking up the barren rock keeping an eye out for any pokemon wanting to attack him.

Tao continued along his way. No pokemon about. Yet. The warm climate always seemed to rise the higher you went. The boy slowed a bit as he felt himself begining to get exhausted. He pondered how far he'd get this time with only one berry and no other supplies. Hopefully, further than the last time.

The boy certainly didn't mind being alone. Encountering pokemon wasn't so bad either. As long as they were no humans, he didn't mind. He slowed his ascent as the incline became steeper and craggier.

Tao wiped his brow and took a small break before moving on again. He certainly was no hiker and all this excercise was starting to take its toll on his stamina. He continued as he regain his breath.
