These Pokemon are moving really fast. One phantom commented, cocking his brow.
"Yeah, really fast." Mike agreed, having moved from one of the seats to the warm, soft ground. Warm yes, but the 'soft' ground was a sheet of natural shale. "I can hardly keep up with them." he said weakly, gravity slowly pushing him lower and lower. Both the Piplup and the Snivy appeared to have used Double Team considering how many of them there were. "Heh, they both have...the same move."
Did Kasiya and Hayley learn Double Team, too? Is it getting dark? I can't tell. Are those clouds?
"I hope...it doesn't rain..." Mike lazily groped behind him and pulled out his umbrella. He tried to open it but for some strange reason it appeared to be stuck. Lazily, the boy pulled the bottom of his shirt over his face from the 'oncoming clouds'.
Very very dark.
"Go Alphonse..." was the last thing Mike said before his busy day caught up with him and he was fast asleep on the Pewter City pavement. Being crazy is exhausting, after all. Pumpkin floated aimlessly overhead, blinking in curiosity as his trainer passed out.

"Are you just gonna stand there all day?"
"Yeah, c'mon, Sis! We told Ma we'd get you at least to Nacrene City."
"We'd like to cross this bridge sometime this year."
Juliet Forbes blatantly ignored her older, overprotective brothers as she leaned against the railing of the famous and expansive Skyarrow Bridge, looking out over the vast blue water that spread out below. She had been standing in that very spot for at least half an hour, despite her brothers' protests. Her mid-length, honey blonde hair was being gently tossed about by the wind, and she gathered it up with practiced ease and put it into a neat ponytail. She could vaguely hear her brothers still yammering away, trying to give her reasons why they should keep moving, but their voices were drowned out by the roar of the traffic below, something Juliet was more grateful for than she should be. "I don't need a babysitter," she said sharply, turning to glare at them. "Especially two. I totally could have gone all by myself."
The boys laughed at their little sister, missing the very dirty look she shot their way in reply. "Think of us as like, bodyguards," the slightly older twin, Cody said, flexing a manly pose which was quickly mimicked by the slightly younger twin, Corey.
Juliet's annoyed expression didn't falter and she resumed looking out over the water. "Babysitters, bodyguards. To-may-to, to-mah-to," she grumbled. "Besides, I'm not leaving. At least, not until I get to see a few ships go under the bridge," she added, her tone a bit on the defiant side. "You two dunderheads might as well go and entertain yourselves." The three Forbes siblings all looked up as a small flock of Swanna flew overhead, a couple of young and energetic Ducklett in tow. Juliet smiled at the birds, wondering what it'd be like to raise the cute little duckling into a magnificent swan.
The twins, however, had forgotten about the Swanna and Ducklett the moment they were out of sight and were now giving each other 'the look', the one where they seemed to know exactly what the other was thinking. In this case, they both knew very well that their stubborn little sister would stand on the bridge all day if the let her. They also aware of just how much pushing she'd needed to even leave home in the first place, so they decided to let her be for now. After all, how long could it possibly take for a ship to pass by? "Hey Corey, race you to the end of the bridge and back again!" Cody shouted quite suddenly, jumping onto his bike which had been parked nearby.
"You're on!" Corey shouted right back, and in seconds he was on his bike as well, and now the two boys were pedaling as fast as they possibly could, back toward where they'd just come from- Castelia City.
Juliet watched them with a coy smile until their silhouettes were hardly recognizable before she climbed onto her own bike, and she started to pedal in the opposite direction. I love my brothers, but sometimes they can be pretty slow, she thought, pretty pleased with herself as she turned into the corkscrew descent that would take her to the far exit of the bridge, Pinwheel Forest her destination.

The change from the cityscape of Castelia into the lush green Pinwheel Forest was quite drastic and Juliet pedaled slowly as she tried to take it all in. She wasn't really the outdoorsy type of girl but even she could appreciate the natural beauty of the forest, and she canted her head to the side as she heard the calls of wild Pokémon in the distance. For the first time since leaving her home back in Nimbasa, she truly felt excited to be on her own, but it had helped that she'd finally managed to ditch Dumb and Dumber. Again, it wasn't that she didn't love her brothers, as it was in fact quite the opposite. She adored them, all four of them, in fact, but they were all so over-protective and nosy and quite irritating in general. It had been her mother that insisted that the twins "escort" her "safely" to Nacrene City and possibly to the route beyond, as the trainers and wild Pokémon wandering the routes in that area were a bit weaker and therefore less likely to say, rip her face off or curb-stomp the newbie trainer into oblivion and back.
She sighed quietly to herself as she biked across a small bridge, stopping midway to look out at the small trickle of a stream passing by underneath. It seemed quite tiny compared to the vast blue waters that flowed beneath Skyarrow Bridge. The very thought that she, Juliet Forbes, needed protection from the outside world was laughable. Growing up with four older brothers had significantly toughened her up, and even if she had only just set out on her journey to become a Pokémon Trainer say, the other day, she wasn't exactly worried even if she'd likely get chewed out by her family the next time she contacted them.
Juliet looked down at the water, wondering if she'd see any Pokémon swimming around. She'd be happy enough to see a Basculin or something, but she quickly realized that the water was too shallow for that. She frowned and pressed onward. So far she'd seen very few wild Pokémon, as her brothers had taken them "the quick way" through the desert that stood between Nimbasa and Castelia City, and other than a few Sandile here and there, and the occasional Swanna she hadn't seen much in the way of wild Pokémon so far. She sincerely hoped that would change soon as she was looking to get some training in for her own Pokémon partner.
Juliet wasn't the only person currently traveling through Pinwheel Forest, but as she continued to bike along it felt as though she was. The few trainers she did pass by were either too busy with Pokémon battles of their own or focused on where they were going. This sucks, Juliet thought, pedaling a little harder. No wild Pokémon and no trainers, either. Maybe I should have stayed with Corey and Cody, at least they have Pokémon that Lottie can train with.

Fortunately for Juliet, her luck was about to change as she continued to bike along the main path through the forest. It would just so happen that a little green bug wearing a little leafy hood chose to drop down right into the path of Juliet's bike, and rather than slam on the breaks and risk flying headfirst over her handlebars, she swerved dangerously to the left and managed not to flatten the rather surprised little Sewaddle. She did a quick U-turn and skidded to a stop, an excited smile now appearing on her face when she saw the little Bug-type was still there. Perfect, she thought. A good opponent for our first solo battle!
Carefully, Juliet dismounted her bike, already reaching for the single Poké Ball that hung from the clip on her necklace. "Okay Charlotte, it's show time!" She clicked the sphere once to enlarge it to its full size, and she eyed the Swaddle as she threw the Poké Ball forward. Upon impacting with the ground, it opened with a flash of light to reveal Juliet's Riolu, Charlotte. She was approximately two feet in height and blue and black in color and already in a battle stance, her tiny paws curled into fists as she eyed her opponent. Sewaddle's gaze was fixed on Lottie as well. It hadn't been expecting a fight but that didn't mean it wasn't going to give its all. "Sewawa!" it cried before launching itself at Lottie. Juliet hadn't studied as much as she probably should have, but even she could guess that the little Bug-type was using Tackle.
"Lottie, dodge it, just like we practiced with Corey's Sandile," she said, feeling quite confident. While her little Riolu wasn't the toughest of Pokémon, at least not yet, they had spent a lot of time practicing with her brothers' Pokémon, and she liked to think that Charlotte was pretty clever and had learned a lot during those sessions of training.
Lottie nodded quickly, arms held out at her sides. "Rah!" she cried, and in the blink of an eye she was racing toward the oncoming Sewaddle. For a moment, it looked like the two Pokémon would collide head-on, but at the last minute Lottie vaulted up and over the Bug-type, actually springing over its back leapfrog style before coming to land safely on her feet opposite it. Sewaddle looked around, quite perplexed before realizing its foe was behind it, and it wheeled around, looking quite angry.

As a gym leader, Misty had gotten used to losing and being happy about it -- really, it was the betterment of her challengers, and she was glad most of the time to see them so happy after their well-earned victory. That being said, as much as she wanted to do her duty as a gym leader and as a teacher, she still liked to win. She was a competitive person, after all, and she didn't believe in holding back on anyone who came in here, which led to several scattered victories. She just didn't necessarily expect that this would be another.
As Starmie's Ice Beam hit true and Gloom was practically thrown across the gym, both Misty and the official ref, Liam, watched in stunned silence. The redheaded gym leader regained her composure as she recalled her Starmie, following the seemingly-stoic Train's example. "Uh," Liam began, the word echoing through the quiet gym. "The battle goes to Misty."
"Hey," Misty called out to the blonde girl, smiling. "You nearly had me there. I have no doubt that if you came back in here, you'd be walking out with a badge." She shrugged a little, not knowing why she wanted to comfort the girl. "I'll definitely be looking forward to our rematch," she said, waving goodbye to Train before loudly announcing to their few spectators and the trainers under her tutelage that the pool was indeed back open.

After a quite boring and uneventful shower, Leon had examined his clothes, deemed then clean enough, and pulled them back on. He looked out of the window and, judging by the way the sun was beating down on the island, felt that he did not need to wear his jacket today. He slung it over his shoulder and motioned with his head for Muuma to follow him before exiting the room. He dropped off the key at the desk and pulled out his newly acquired Sableye's PokéBall as he left the building.x=x=x=x=x "Yeah," Train mumbled, not loud enough for anyone to hear. She realised, however, that leaving like that would make her seem like an incredibly sore loser (which, perhaps, she was). The girl straightened herself and looked at Misty. "Thank you for the match," She spoke up, clipping Gloom's PokéBall back on to her belt. As the spectators filed back into the pool, she turned and exited the gym with another sigh.

"Nice job, Lottie! You're the best," Juliet laughed, happy to see that her Riolu's spunk was in full force today. Lottie grinned cheekily and beckoned for the little Bug-type to try that again; she could do this all day! Sewaddle gave an angry growl before it began to charge at the Riolu once again, and Lottie's grin widened as she proceeded to spring up and over the bug once more. Angry yet undeterred, the Bug-type seemed to think that the third time was the charm and it dashed forward, this time fully anticipating the Fighting-type's dodge. The little bug skidded to a stop just as Lottie jumped up, and it suddenly shot out a sticky string of silk that wrapped around the very-surprised Riolu's leg. With a growl, Sewaddle then proceeded to yank on the silk string, very literally hauling Lottie out of the air and making her land forcibly on her back with an audible thud.
"Lottie!" Juliet called, taking a step forward even as her little Pokémon got to its feet, growling as she ripped the silky threads from her leg. Juliet exhaled quietly, and shook her head. Dodging could only get them so far. "All right, Charlotte, it's time to go on the offensive! Quick Attack, go!"
The Riolu growled sharply and ran at her opponent, a shining, white light trailing from behind her and making her look like a little blue and black comet. Sewaddle attempted a second String Shot but this time Lottie saw it coming and avoided it with ease. She closed in on Sewaddle and veered to the right, thrusting out her left elbow and smashing into the side of the bug's head. It cried out from the strike but recovered fast, pretty much throwing itself at the Riolu. Making contact wasn't an issue this time as the two Pokémon were in such close proximity and Lottie cried out painfully from the hit an was knocked to the ground.
Juliet's eyes narrowed and she did her best to remain composed. Charlotte was okay, she could totally handle this! Plus, she still had her super-secret weapon to use, and now seemed like as good a time as any to use it. "Lottie, you can finish this up in one shot," she shouted. "Blaze Kick!"
Lottie gritted her teeth as she got to her feet, fury burning in her eyes. Juliet was right, it was time to end this! With a fierce growl she raced toward Sewaddle before leaping into the air. The small Fighting-type did an aerial somersault as her right foot literally burst into flame. Sewaddle's eyes grew large, reflecting the flames as the burning kick was swiftly delivered and being super-weak to Fire-type attacks, the bug was down for the count.

“Well this is certainly turning out to be a familiar turn of events.” Isaiah said, scratching the back of his head after recalling his Pokemon. “Alright Kirly, let's go.” he looked back at the bladed Pokemon behind him and nodded to Kitsune. It dropped Sasha's beret into his trainer's hands and stepped forward. Isaiah brushed off some stray dust before returning his attention to the battle.
“Never seen one of z'hose before.” Sasha mused, pulling out her PokeDex. “An alternate form of Kirlia. I s'hought it looked familiar!” Having run around Hoenn quite a bit, she'd seen many Pokemon of that evolutionary line, but never one that looked so...masculine. While it was no shock that someone like Isaiah would pick the more macho form, the thought of the big tough biker training a Pokemon with a tutu gave Sasha a slight case of the giggles.
“What's so funny?” Isaiah frowned.
“Nos'hing!” Sasha lied. “You two are very suited for one anos'her.”
“Oh yeah!” the cue ball replied, completely missing the jab. “I'll show you! Kirly! Psycho Cut!” Striking a disciplined pose, the Gallade sliced the air, sending a purple wave tearing through the air, too fast for the wounded Ninetales to dodge. The attack slammed into Kitsune's side and sent her tumbling back to her trainer.
“Can you get up, Kitsune?” Sasha asked sweetly, though the answer was pretty obvious when the Ninetales' trademark tales flopped to the dirt. “Oh, ma pauvre amie.” The pink-haired girl walked forward and planted a gentle kiss on the fox's nose. “You rest now.” After Kitsune had been recalled and her ball placed back in Sasha's bag, the girl locked eyes with Isaiah and flashed him a smirk. “Pretty impressive, Isaiah!” she said, reaching for Roulette's pokeball. “But I have someone here z'hat will knock z'hat hat-stealing ruffian's block clean off!” She reached back, winding up her arm for the toss. “Say hello to Rou-” As she began to swing her arm, a blast of light shot out from her bag and onto the battlefield. Sasha froze on the spot, dropping the Fearow's Pokeball on the ground as her mouth hung open in shock at the Pokemon that had just released itself into the fight.
“'ril!” the overzealous Omelette grunted, flexing his stubby arms at the much larger Gallade that he had just challenged.
The screech that came out of Sasha rivaled that from any Pokemon, and surely lowered the defenses of all nearby. By two stages. Permanently.

Train couldn't help but walk a little sullenly to the Pokémon Center. She laid the PokéBalls of the three members of team which she had used against Misty in a tray and handed it to the nurse behind the counter, not saying a word. After the nurse had taken the tray and disappeared into the back, the female trainer pulled the last PokéBall off of her belt and pressed the button once to enlarge it, examining the ball as if she could see the Pokémon inside of it through the red top. She shrunk it once again and moved over to the wall covered in region maps, clipping it back to her belt as she examined them. The map she had in her bag was only for Kanto, and boy was there a lot more out there than that. She quickly skimmed over the maps, noting that a new region had been put up, called "Unova", which surprised her. it didn't feel like it was that long ago that Sinnoh had been opened up to the public, but she was glad to see the rest of world was becoming more inviting.
She had lost the battle, but the damage had not been severe to any of her Pokémon, and so she did not have much time to dwell over the maps. Nurse Joy had soon returned with her Pokémon, all fully healed and in tip-top shape. She thanked the nurse and put the balls in their proper place. She held Pikachu's PokéBall for a short moment, debating whether or not the let him out, and then decided that she did not yet want to inform him of their defeat.
Once outside, Train noticed that it was beginning to get dark out, and while she was surprised at first, she realised that it had been a very long day, and yet suddenly it seemed to have flown by. She looked down the streets and bit her lip a little before turning and going back into the center, feeling around for the key, which she had stuffed into the buckle of her belt.

Despite not having any idea of where she was going to go now, Miharu had turned to leave the Pokemon Center, feeling as though she'd wasted enough of Damien and Karrigan's time. She didn't get very far, however, as quite soon after she'd turned her back, Damien's egg had decided to introduce itself to the world. Even with her gloomy mood, Miharu couldn't help but smile as the newborn Pokemon was released, though the sight of the little purple fish was almost disappointing. It was quite energetic though, and almost a little cute and for a few seconds, Miharu almost felt normal again. However, when she reached for her PokeDex out of pure instinct, coming up empty-handed shattered the euphoric feeling and she gave a small sigh. "Congratulations on your new Pokemon, Damien," she said, pulling herself together enough to force a smile. "I'll talk to you guys later, okay? I'm going to get some air."
It took nearly all of Miharu's willpower to stop herself from running out of the center, but she kept herself at a controlled walk until she'd slipped through the sliding doors and out into the warm air of Castelia City. Her eyes darted back and forth as she tried to pick a direction and finally she settled on straight ahead, as she had a clear view of the pier directly in front of her. Normally very cautious, she glanced from side to side again before darting across the busy street, causing some of the more impatient drivers to blare their horns at her, but she paid them no attention and ran until she was at the very end of the pier. In her haste to leave the Pokemon Center and her new friends behind, she hadn't noticed that she'd been followed. Miharu carefully sat herself down at the edge of the dock, her feet dangling over the side. Not even ten seconds had passed before her tears had started to fall, and within a minute, her tears had escalated into full-blown sobbing. ===== "What."
"Baaaaass!"
"It's a fish."
"Fee-bass!" Clearly, Feebas was a lot happier with the situation than Damien was.
"...Swell." The newborn fish continued to flop around in her trainer's arms, so energetically, in fact, that Damien nearly dropped her, though he wasn't exactly trying all that hard to not drop her. Why couldn't you have hatched on the ship? Then I could have dumped you safely in the water, he thought sourly, yet he still managed to find an empty PokeBall and smack the Water-type on the head with it. The purple fish flopped even as she was enveloped by a red light and sucked into the red and white sphere, and as it clicked shut, Damien was sure she continued to flop around uselessly despite now being confined to a PokeBall.
"Feebas," he repeated, testing the name on his tongue. It sounded as dull as the fish looked, and he too took out his PokeDex to look up the fish's entry. He nodded along to Karrigan's short explanation, quickly finding the aforementioned evolution listed directly after Feebas. He raised an eyebrow, and even smirked a little bit. Okay, so maybe it wasn't the worst Pokemon he could have received. He didn't think much of the odd colouring either, looking over at Miharu as she announced that she was heading outside. "Thanks," he murmured, looking to the redhead once Miharu had left, though Damien did notice the woman in the white coat leave the Center a few moments afterward. "Okay, so here we are in Castelia City, and I've got a fish. What are we going to do now?" he asked, finding it to be a bit of a relief now that he had both hands free to habitually remove and clean his glasses.

If Scarlet could say anything about young Bradley, it was that he could most certainly set a mood. I mean, not an especially cool, mood, but he was only a kid, what was he gonna do? Bradley didn’t do anything else but smile with his weird shadow over his face, leaving Scarlet scratching his head and staring up to watch leaves rustle.
“Uh, while we’re waiting on Captain Melodrama’s Caterpie to grace us with its presence again, how about you bolster your defenses?” Scarlet said, only able to hope that Jett wasn’t dealing with anything this weird. And unfortunately for the ninja worm, the white sheen overcame Sledge, indicating Harden number four was successful. Not that the Bug Catcher noticed.
“Hey, what do you mean ‘melodrama’!?” The cool grin left his face in an instant as he scrambled to his feet, waving his net around as wildly if he were directing airplane landings (very badly). Bradley shoved the brim of his hat upward and glared at Scarlet. “I was setting up the mood! Uh, atmosphere! Ummm, am-bye-ance! Just because you’re ancient doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to appreciate my brilliance!”
“Hah! Yeah, you’re so brilliant you can’t say amb… am…. Okay, I can’t remember how to say it, but that isn’t relevant, kid! There’s no time to not pay attention!” Scarlet aimed a finger at the boy’s chest, eyes narrowing in focus. “Take this advice from an ‘ancient’!”
As Scarlet delivered his sermon about focusing on the battle at hand, however, he neglected to notice the tiny caterpie inching its way silently down the bark of one of the numerous trees on the western end of the battlefield. And as poor Sledge was blind, and deafened by bickering over battle etiquette, Caterpie lowered himself into the grass, beginning to circle Sledge. A line of webbing darted from his mouth, and the sound of it splatting against the Roggenrola’s leg finally alerted him. The Roggenrola let out a surprised click, clumsily trying to lock on to a sound he’d never be able to hear; the skittering of the caterpie’s tiny legs was overshadowed by what Sledge hoped was the most enthralling conversation Scarlet had ever had in his life.
“You don’t know what cool is! Cool got up and walked away from you like five years ago!” Bradley posited through gritted teeth, shaking his fist as, unbeknownst to him, his Caterpie had completed a fourth circuit around the rock monster’s leg, and with a strained tug, David had sent Goliath toppling to the ground.
“What!? I’m the epitome of cool!” Scarlet stomped like the mature role model that he was. “My mom thinks I’m the bee’s knees!” The exclamation came out, though its speaker was completely unaware of the fact that Sledge’s distressed clicks were becoming muffled, as the fallen Roggenrola was entombed in a cocoon.
Neither trainer noticed what had happened until a tired, but victorious “Piiiii!” almost broke the sound barrier, the huffing worm standing tall and proud on his last four legs. He turned his head toward his trainer, letting out another proud “Pi!” I’m finished!
Both boys stared incredulously at the scene before them, Bradley’s jaw somehow having dropped lower to the ground than Scarlet’s.

Isaiah laughed at the current situation for two reasons. One: he admired the little guys gumption, and two: seeing the usually ever-confident Sasha in the throws of a complete conniption was wildly entertaining.
"Omelette!" she shouted, both before and after a string of angry français. "I wasn't going to call you, get back in your ball!"
"Ah ah ah!" Isaiah protested, wagging his finger. "You know the rules. In a set match, once a Pokemon is out, it's out."
Ugh, he's right! There is no way z'hat Omelette stands a chance against z'his Gallade. Dammit! Sasha snarled, once at Omelette for having put her in this situation, and once at her opponent for being right. Okay, two for Omelette. The little Marill was undeterred by his trainer's complete and utter fury, and proceeded to taunt Isaiah's Gallade, turning over and smacking his own butt with his tail. "Wow." Sasha said, now more stunned than angry. "I'm pretty sure z'hese are z'he exact steps that lead to natural selection."
"While this is hilarious", the biker said. "I don't know how I feel about continuing the fight. It would be like punting a toddler." Sasha however, could care less at this point. She was 200% done with the entire situation.
"Whatever. I lost anyway." she said, crossing her arms and refusing to look at her Pokemon. "Do what you want. She-" she sighed, laboriously."He will not learn oz'herwise." Sasha let out an indignant huff, muttering something under her breath about Prickles when he was a Cacnea.
"You don't mean that." Isaiah sighed, looking down at the still flexing Marill. "Look, all he wants to do is prove himself to you."
Sasha snorted.------
Bugsy shuddered in empathy with his Pokemon (not like snakes unnerved him or anything, shut up) as Naja once again shot a nasty look as his Scyther. Stop it, that's not cool, no don't flick your tongue GOD that's so gross. As the irony of a kid who hangs around giant bladed cicadas finding snakes of all things unnerving sinks in, Bugsy's giant bladed cicada was still looking pretty ragged. The paralysis had done a number on his ability to move, much less dodge or attack. Any other type of ailment and he would have been much more deadly, but immobility was pretty much completely snuffed any chance he had at winning.
"Scyther!" the now recovered Bugsy shouted. "Try one more Vaccuum Wave!" The Mantis Pokemon, who now moved more like a corpse on strings than a Pokemon, swiped in the general direction of Jett's Ekans, slashing a wave of energy at the snake.

Jett had initially suspected that Scyther was a higher level than Naja, given its strength and the damage Naja took from its attacks, so it felt admittedly nice to get the two Pokemon on the same level. By which he meant it felt nice to see that fast, frightening Scyther be slowed down and also see the toll of Naja's attacks incredibly apparent. And with the Leer taking effect, the Mantis Pokemon was toast after one more Bite or Poison Sting, and Jett could worry about the next two of the gym leader's Pokemon.
However, he was thwarted by Bugsy's use of common sense, as his lesson had been reversed upon him: the gym leader knew that it would not be much fun if he let his Pokemon get close to a giant, poisonous snake. So when he called out for a Vacuum Wave, Jett immediately commanded for Naja to dodge. But, perhaps the snake thought that it would pass harmlessly by her again, perhaps she was so desperate to strike again, perhaps she was just being stupid, the Poison-type instead leapt toward Scyther, fangs glowing purple. Just as she was about to reach the Mantis Pokemon, it released the Fighting-type move point-blank, sending the snake whirling away with a weak cry. Her landing was harsh, which lent itself to the snake's sudden bout of unconsciousness. Jett recalled her, sighing lightly. She had done a much better job than the boy expected, and he'd definitely have to thank her later.
In the meantime, he still had Bugsy and his paralyzed, nearly-K.O.'d Scyther to deal with. Not to mention two other, healthier Pokemon. But the boy wasn't worried at all. Instead, as if taking a page from Scarlet, the small smile on his face grew dramatically into an excited grin, promising nothing but trouble for the Bug-type leader. "Let's get started." He withdrew the Pokeball without hesitation. "I think you'll be a fan of my next choice. Aerosmith, use your Gust attack!" With an unusual flourish, Jett released the Beautifly from his Pokeball, and immediately the butterfly zeroed in on the Scyther. With more malice than one might expect from such a delicate-seeming Pokemon, he grunted out a "Beautifly!" and flapped his wings vehemently, kicking up a strong enough wind that was sent barreling towards the Mantis.

Keegan had since lit up a cigarette as he, Helios and Hades continued their trek towards the gym. This is it, the redhead thought with a smirk, enjoying a long drag as he exchanged glances with Helios. Finally going to take down Norton and win that badge. Err, Norman! Goddammit, Sheena! He rolled his eyes and grumbled to himself, annoyed that the pink-haired girl had gotten to him, even if she'd given him one hell of a Pokemon for all of his troubles. Helios, Artemis, Moeder, Eithne and Boris... yeah we'll be fine, he thought, refusing to second-guess his choices as he continued along, but a commotion from nearby caused the redhead to stop in his tracks. "What the hell...?"
Both Helios and Hades turned to look as well, and all three of their heads tilted slightly to the side as they saw a small, dragon-like Pokemon barreling towards them with all the grace of a speeding train. "Someone needs more training," was the redhead's astute observation as the Pokemon's apparent trainer tackled it just before it could run into them. Helios had taken up a defensive stance in front of his trainer, all nine of his tails fanned out behind him and glowing slightly. The green and brown egg rolling to a stop at his feet, however, was enough to disengage the Ninetales' attack mode and he relaxed, leaning down to sniff at the egg - it sure smelled familiar somehow. The fox looked up at the human now wrestling the growling dragon-thing and gave a bark - hey, he knew this guy! At least, he thought he did.
Hades had watched the situation unfold from the relative safety of Keegan's shoulder, blinking in surprise as the Pokemon had started to growl specifically at him. The Axew was still quite young, however, and after seriously considering crying and hiding in his trainer's hair, he started to growl back. There, that would show that nasty beastie! Keegan, meanwhile, finished his cigarette and stomped the butt flat under his heel, raising an eyebrow as the person that had just tackled the dragon spoke his name. "Do I know you?" he asked, bending down to pick up the egg and quickly realizing that it was a mistake to do so - the thing was much heavier than it looked. At first he really didn't recognize his old friend, as the last time he'd seen him, he'd looked as though he'd gotten into a fight with a Scizor and his hair had paid the price for it. There was no mistaking that voice however, and the same glint of mischief in his eyes, and Keegan shook his head in complete disbelief. "s**t, Dante? It is you. Well, whaddya know." He adjusted the insanely heavy egg in his arms, unable to look away from Dante's gorgeous, flowing mane of hair. "What happened to your head this time? Get into a fight with a bottle of Rogaine or something? No wait, don't tell me - you got extensions! Nice, very nice. And no, actually, I haven't... had my gym battle yet." s**t keeps happening to keep me from it, he thought, but didn't say it out loud. "So what brings you all the way to lovely Petalburg City?" he asked, still unable to get over Dante's drastically-different hairstyle. ===== Her crying lasted for about five minutes or so, and though she was certain there were many more just waiting to be shed, she stopped when she came to realize that she could feel someone's gaze on her. Sniffling, Miharu leaned down and tried to wipe her eyes with the bottom of her shirt, as it had no sleeves she could use for just such an occasion. "Who are you, and what do you want?" she attempted to snap, but rather than sounding gruff and intimidating, her voice came out shaky and fragile. Slowly she looked over her shoulder, not sure what to expect to see, though she did feel a little less nervous when she saw that it was a young woman. She was fairly tall and looked rather pleasant; her light brown hair was piled atop her head and it seemed to give her a professional air. Her eyes were a bright shade of cyan, brought out by the large red earrings that dangled from her ears. She wore a long, white lab coat over a white shirt and green miniskirt, her red and white shoes looked sensible yet comfortable. "Who are you?" Miharu repeated, now getting to her feet. Her head throbbed as she did so and she reached up to touch the bandage, more to make sure it was still there than anything else.
The woman smiled apologetically and took a step forward. "I'm sorry for startling you," she said, her voice gentle and surprisingly pleasant. "You must be Miharu. Allow me to introduce myself; I am Aurea Juniper, a Pokemon Professor."
Miharu raised an eyebrow, not looking all that impressed. "That explains the coat," she said wryly, but managed a small smile. She'd always been taught to respect those of position and perhaps more subconsciously than anything else, her good manners bubbled to the surface. "Forgive me if I seem rude but, how do you know my name?"

Dante’s grin quickly faded away as he Keegan brought up his new hair, he had been doing his best to ignore it! Groaning he rolled his eyes at the comment. “Let’s not talk about the hair. It seems like I have some sort of malicious all powerful being who makes decisions on a whim about my life.” Meaning he had no idea why it was long and he hated his life. “I loved it short! Maybe I should just shave my head, that would show them.” He moaned feeling that he was going to fall into a deep depression about it.
“Ah, yeah sorry about this little monster.” Dante motioned to the a struggling and growling Kali, he was just glad she wasn’t shooting flames at his friend, the thought of that quickly sent him scrambling into his bag for her pokeball to recall her. “No idea what happened there. I was heading back to the pokemon center to have her revived when all of a sudden she broke out and took off like a shot.” He shrugged as he held the pokeball up for inspection, maybe it was broken? Seeing no cracks or anything else that might indicate a faulty pokeball he shrugged and shoved it back into his bag.
“So who and what is that?” Dante asked motioning to the brown thing on Keegan’s shoulder. Dante had seen a lot of pokemon in his years but never anything like that, it was kind of cute though, if you were into that kind of thing. “Also you need some new clothes.” The auburn haired teen had seen hobo’s with better kept clothes then that. “If it wasn’t for Helios there I would think you were a member of the homeless society.” Dante motioned down to the ever beautiful fire fox. A small pang of regret ran through him at the thought of his own fire pokemon. He quickly pushed away the memories of what the doctors had told him and turned his attention forcibly back to his friend. It was then that Dante noticed something else, never let it be said that Dante was the most observant person in the world. “That’s my rock isn’t it?” He muttered darkly at the so called egg in Keegan’s arms. “Mind taking a look at it? Believe it or not it’s the same damn egg I had when I ran into you before. You grew up around eggs right?” He remembered something about Keegan delivering an egg to that weird blonde kid. Shoving him forward he pushed Keegan along towards the gym, the Pokemon Center could wait a moment. “Don’t even think I forgot about you not taking on Norman yet. Talk, walk and gym battle, you aren't allowed to use me as a distraction, the reason I came to see you can wait.” Not that Dante was forgetting about that egg at Keegan was carrying for him, it was just heavy and if he could get the other to carry it for a moment while he checked it out all the better for him.
