I think I'm going to stick with the shinigami for now, because I can understand it a bit more than the others.. 3nodding
Do I get my sword-thingy right away, or do I have to wait?

The zanpkuto? Yes, you've got a regular sword from the very start. You don't have any of the special powers that come along with that sword yet, though. Jump into the profile making, and if you have a question, feel free to ask any of the crew. ^_^

Also I would recomend catching up on the series, I find the more up to date you are with bleach the better rping when it comes to this type of guild. But I've mostly finished my profile! I just need to work on her biooo.. (I took examples from a buncha peeoples to pretty it upp. blaugh )

Just a thought, and since you might not know this, the non-spiritual stuff turning into salt part of the shikai wouldn't work in Soul Society because everything is made of spiritual particles there. You might need to revise that a bit.

Mostly I just want it to say that it can't turn someone or their zanpakuto into salt.. how do I say that?

I would phrase it as you have the power to turn weak reiatsu signature into a different compound (in this case salt)

I went with something like that. 3nodding I said that she can turn things to salt, as long as they are not alive, or the opponents zanpakuto. Does that cover it? Oh, and I finished my biography section! Wooooo! What do I do now?

Decide what squad you want to join. I'd be happy to have you in Squad One, the duelists, but Squad 10, the elementalists, seems like it would be a good fit for your character as well. She may also fit with Squad 5, kidou.
