Kahlilia shrugged a little, letting that subject go quickly. They could have tiny or bigger disagreements, they were completely unavoidable in her opinion, but it didn't mean it had to linger.
The girl's face seemed to brighten a notch when she smiled back at him, illuminating her petite features like sunlight. The sunlight that no longer existed outside. The storm. The symbolism they had used while they were by the pond the other day. Well, that was in the past now. No need to dwell.
Even though she was still standing by Kelly's stall, she giggled when she heard Roman say he was not Phoenix's scratching post. Nope, I guess Phoenix thinks you are. Better watch out. She was still smiling lightly, even though in truth she was becoming uncomfortable because of the storm. However, it eventually did fade as one emotion overrode the other and she appeared to stiffen. Should we get that mare that was out in the paddock? I know shes one of Shannon's and it didn't look like her rider was going to come back for her anytime soon. There was worry in her voice as she said this, being the fierce lover of animals that she was. No way she was going to leave her outside. When she had gone back to get Benvolio and put him back in his stall, the mare had still been there. There had also been no sign of anyone else coming from any direction, which irked her slightly. She was pretty sure Xavier was this mare's rider, but she couldn't be sure. If he was, she had another reason to dislike him. The b*****d. And even so, without waiting for a response this time, she found a lead and started to walk towards the direction of the paddock.

Xavier was a little surprised at first by Summer's knowing of and interest in snakes, but fortunately it was in a good light. This is so cool! In response to the girl, he nodded and took her hand. Then, he voiced his previous thought, That is so cool. Have you been handling snakes for a while? This girl that he was looking at truly was amazing. Funny, sweet, gorgeous, ambitious, and best of all: she was his girlfriend. Well, technically, Xavier had learned that girls didn't like to be adressed in such a way, so in speech he usually would say 'and we're lovers' as to avoid being slapped or listening to a feminist tirade. Neither, in his mind, were very fun. Painful, if you wanted to call it that.
When Summer asked him again about the cream, the same thought rose again, and then he noticed the girl was blushing as well. We're not going to die if we don't have sex for three weeks. So why does it feel like it? Yeah, He replied to her after forcing the dirty image back, Is there some sort of healing stuff you can put on it in here? It was obvious why he didn't use the word 'cream' again - if they referred to cream in the way both of them were thinking, the agreement would be a thing of the past in a second.
Well, after three weeks, they would have such great sex that they'd be exhausted beyond belief afterwards. Yes, it was true that humans grew tired after those things, but the post-agreement sex was going to be inhumanly exhausting. What a weird thought. Oh well. Lifting Summer's hand up as he held it, he kissed the palm gently and smiled. Just let us get through this ...

Summer smiled after he said that it was cool and then to answer his question about her handling snakes she said, "Yeah I do make one pretty cool girlfriend don't I?""Well it's really weird actually, snakes seem to find me and want me to take them in as pets, I can't explain it but since I was little i've always been around snakes. They actually don't feel threaten by me." Summer was trying very hard to keep her thoughts under control and then voiced one of them out loud by blurting out quite suddenly without even meaning to, "This whole going without sex is going to be tougher than I thought." She realized what she had said and blushed then answered his other question, "Yes I think I have some in my bag." She said as he kissed the palm of her hand she then stated, "Do you like kissing the palm of my hand?" she said this in a teasing tone and smiled at him while thinking that she and he could make it for at least two or three weeks and that it would make having sex with him would be all the more special. She then gently removed her hand from his grip and walked over to her bag and dug around and found the cream, "Here it is," she said smiling, "Hey will you help me put this on my cheek?" she asked him with a teasing smile and then laughing. She then remembered her horse Shadow and how she left the horse loose, "Hey did you put Lady up earlier? I've got to go put Shadow back into her stall you wanna come with me?"

Roman glanced back at her with a faint smile. "Well, he'll just have to learn otherwise, won't he?" he replied teasingly. "The last thing I need is to have him rubbing on me all the time - it's a bad habit, Phoenix!" he called back to the horse.
Noticing that Kahlilia held a lead rope already, he merely fell in beside her before climbing into the paddock. "Here, let me, just in case," he said, gently taking the lead rope from her hand. "She's probably fine, but we don't know how she is on the lead - and even good horses can get spooked by a storm coming."
He thought the pretty mare would have been fine in the paddock for a while longer, but there was no reason to risk it - and despite the delicacy that made the mare look smaller than she was, the grey was quite big. If the horse threw a fit at being taken into the barn with a storm on the way, he didn't want Kahlilia under those hooves.
At least the mare was already wearing a halter, he thought. Clipping the lead rope to the halter, he stroked her neck gently. "Come on, love," he said, his voice gentling as he spoke to the horse. "Come on inside with me, now. We'll bring in some of your friends to be with you. It's going to be wet and icky out here. You don't want to be out in that, do you?" Still talking softly, he walked the mare towards the gate.

At Roman's comment to Phoenix, Kahlilia giggled again lightly. In a way, it felt good to know that when there was an uncomfortable moment, Phoenix could lighten the mood in a semi-unconscious way.
Although Lily didn't protest when Roman insisted to be the one to get Lady, she stayed tense. Having hoped since she took the lead rope that the mare would behave, the girl was extremely relieved when Lady accepted the lead after a hesitation. From where she was standing, Lily couldn't hear Roman talking to the mare, but about thirty seconds after he mentioned the storm several fat raindrops fell on the girl's face. Lady probably felt it, but wasn't reacting too badly yet with the exception of a low snort or two. So far, all was well.
When they reached the gate, Kahlilia opened it and walked a little ways away so that she wouldn't block them. After letting them walk out, she began to walk beside them quietly, looking at them calmly. After a moment or two, however, she voiced her thoughts. I wonder why her rider left her out here. She knew 'the rider's' indentity but would not speak it yet, because then she would probably end up telling Roman about the prank they had played on him. That wasn't something she wanted, because she still wasn't sure if Xavier had even found out yet. And she didn't know the eruption of drama they were going to face when they talked to either Esmeralda or Xavier next ... But only time could tell.
Just as the three of them entered the barn again to take Lady to her stall, a huge clap of thunder threatened to shake the entire land. Kahlilia flinched, but didn't do anything more because she knew the mare to her left was probably pretty wound up right now. Lady was shaking her head and making a noise that sounded like a whicker with a note of fear, and was starting to stiffen. Standing up on her toes to reach, Lily scratched her behind the ears gently and murmured something unintelligable but most likely comforting. Roman's and Kahlilia's words combined seemed to take away the excess of the horse's stress, but the storm seemed determined to outweigh their efforts.

Xavier smiled a little more and kissed her when she accepted the compliment, holding her hands gently. You are the best, you know that right? It was amazing to hear about Summer, know about her, and have her. Everything about her was amazing, she had just about no flaws in his eyes. This girl, this girl and him were lovers ... It was still so hard to believe. In the time they had known each other to this very second, he had flew to heaven and back. It was like a dream ...
In his thoughts, he flushed a little when Summer was holding out the cream to him and offering to have him put it on her. Oh, sure I can. I don't think I can wait ... However, he simply nodded with a light smile and put some on the wound. It smelled strange, as most antibiotics would, but thankfully it wasn't too overpowering. He had his hand on her shoulder as he applied it, the other holding her chin up because he was in fact taller than her. It felt dirty the whole time. When he was done, he realized she had asked him a question. Sure. I think its starting to rain out, so we should be careful. It was, indeed, raining outside as they talked and thought their thoughts. He had heard the two claps of thunder, but didn't pay much mind to them because he liked storms. They were, in his mind, relaxing and cleansing to the earth. It was nice to have rain here, especially in the heat they would probably face later on in the summer.

"Yes, I know that and so are you." She smiled at him then said, "Well let's get going before I give into the urge to throw you back on my bed and have my way with you," Summer said as she winked at him and gave him a teasing smile while also testing his limits. This could be fun after all, she thought to herself. She then grabbed his hand placed a quick kiss on his lips and pulled way before the urge to deepen it took over. She then dragged him behind her while she rushed outside, "I love storms they're so wild and free, to bad we made that agreement making love in a storm would be cool." She then turned her attention to Shadow who was looking paniced and rushed over to Summer. Summer gently stroked the horse and then still holding Xavier's hand she lead Shadow over to the barn where she spotted Roman and Lily, "Hey Roman, hey Lily, I see you've got Xavier's horse he was just coming to put her up," She said as she led a now calm Shadow toward her stall.

((OOC: Bah, still uninspired. Short post, but I caught myself in a trap of continuity and so I can't make it much longer. >.<))
Roman glanced over his shoulder when Kahlilia spoke. "Probably he hasn't realized it's storming yet," he said idly. "It came up pretty fast." Stroking Lady, he stepped out of the horse's stall. He was leaning on the door, watching Lily and Lady have some female bonding, when Summer's voice spoke from behind him. He looked over.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah," he said with a shrug. "She was getting worked up. We were going to go ask Shannon if we ought to bring in any of the other horses - it can't be too great for the babies to be out in the cold and wet." He turned his attention back to Kahlilia. "Coming, Lily? We'd better go find out - if we wait much longer, the point's probably moot anyway."

( OOC // I don't mind, I have a feeling I'm going to be in the same situation son enough because of school. And I had a dentist appointment last Friday! xD
Hmm, I find it interesting that suddenly a lot of imgleft / imgright little things aren't working. Eh, probably a glitch, but I'm not going to use them for now.
btw, should I make X [nicknames again!] get all angry because hes going to be seeing and probably talking to Roman and Kahlilia? I'm thinking I'll save it for later when he learns Esmeralda's condition, but I'm not sure about you guys.
[ / senseless ramble ] )

Kahlilia looked back at Roman and seemed to hesitate before saying lightly, Yeah, it did. I wonder why. Her eyes were glazing over a little bit, closing away the usual glitter in her features. Now that it was gone, she did in fact begin to look a little older than her presumed sixteen; but it also drained her of the giddiness she carried around each day. The girl had never been interested in weather forecasts or explainations for Mother Nature's wrath in the sky, either because she was distracted too easily away from it or because the fancy-clothed people who talked had the droning voices that nobody ever liked. Right now, however, she was focusing on calming down the mare. Lady was still tense, but in having the comfort of her own stall again she seemed to relax. Little by little, she was calming down. Lily was still standing by Lady and being unaware that Roman was casually watching them when Summer came in.
She looked up immediatly, poking her head out briefly. After a minute or two, she decided she could leave Lady be for a little while and walked out gingerly; closing the door behind her. Now that she was standing by Roman, she could see Summer and then the figure that walked in about fifteen seconds behind her.
Lily had given Summer a bit of a shy smile, but when she saw Xavier she made a tiny squeaking sound and suddenly looked like a helpless puppy. Other than that, however, both ignored one another for the time being. Good.
Even so, Lily looked ready to hide behind Roman or sprint away like a frightened deer might have. Xavier didn't notice, but when he looked over at her with his scary eyes she swore she saw some evil glint. That was what happened when you were afraid of someone, she thought. You see things the others don't and you never want to be seen by them in fears for your freaking life. Being part of the prank didn't help. Had he found out? Please, don't let him get angry.

Xavier had to hold back the urge to do exactly what Summer was testing him not to do, but somehow he held himself back. Even then, he decided to burn away some of the overflowing fire when they kissed. Making love in a storm, he thought. That would be cool ... Yeah, Xavier agreed, wrapping his arm around her waist and wishing he could do more. When this is all over we'll have the best sex ever. We'll hit a freakin' record or something, I promise. And they would. By God, they would ... On that thought, he leaned down and kissed her again, touching a teeny bare spot between her shirt and her pants for a few seconds. Just to remember what her bare skin felt like. Remembering ... Having walked a little ways away from Summer so that she could handle the panicky horse, Xavier walked back over when she entered the barn and stood next to her. He saw two others in the barn immediatly. Who were they ... F -- k. Its them. Its the other two! Something boiled back up in Xavier as he saw them acting so casually, pretending to be worried about the storm and all that crap. Oh, no, he wasn't falling for it. They weren't going to outsmart him this time.
When Summer walked away to put Shadow in her stall, he stayed where he was and looked at them. The male was most likely a foot taller than the female, but he could assume both he and the other male were close to the same height. The girl looked as startled as a deer in headlights, and for some reason that both confused and ... excited him. Not sexually, but in an animalistic sort of sense. A lion likes to scare little hyenas as a way of showing their territory and making sure they're not underestimated, and it excited them. He didn't change expression or move much, but something in him was saying to get them good - right now.
Noting the itsy bitsy girl looked surprised when he spoke, he said to the two, Thank you for bringing back my horse. He had tried, really, to keep the bubbling anger out of his voice. How dare you. You probably poisoned her or something, you asses. Tiny was frozen in her spot, so she didn't speak, but it wasn't like he minded. The thrill of the kill.

((OOC: Well, it's up to you, of course. But I'm not sure why he'd get angry again when he found out about Ez.))
Roman lifted a casual brow, noting the tension pretty well radiating off the other male. Was he really that pissed about the plate incident last night? Pretty immature if he was, particularly since the guy had gotten him back. "Not a problem," he replied easily. "She was pretty good about it, actually. I don't know much about horses as a rule, but I'd figure you've got a good one there." Now that he noticed it, Kahlilia also seemed very nervous. He glanced back at her curiously for a moment, but then turned his attention to the other guy. Resting a light hand on Kahlilia's shoulder, he said easily to the boy, "So, did you see Shannon around?"
He had no idea what was going on, to be honest. Kahlilia seemed to have frozen, the guy practically screamed malevolence, and all this seemed like a huge overreaction to a food fight last night. Somehow, this whispered Ez to him. He decided he was going to take a look in on his sister and find out what she hadn't told him.
In the meantime, he would pretend he didn't notice - although the tension was so thick he could have torn it apart with his hands. The horses seemed to be feeling it, too, as it turned out. Phoenix stuck his head over the door. Eyeing Xavier, the big horse's ears went flat back and his teeth bared slightly. The stallion seemed to be considering whether or not he could reach Xavier over the stall door. "Phoenix," said Roman warningly before the horse could decide. Phoenix glanced over at him with his ears perked, the picture of equine innocence. "Behave."
He shook his head. Maybe it was the storm, making everyone act all crazy. "Come on, Lily," he repeated. "We have to go talk to Shannon before the storm really hits."

( OOC // I guess we'll wait and see. [: )
Kahlilia resisted the suddenly powerful urge to lean against Roman when she felt his hand on her shoulder. Feeling herself color ever so slightly, she did in fact go a little closer to him. Without realizing it at all, she was actually flirting. Well, in some women's terms it would be, she remembered when she thought about talking to her male acquantices. She would flip her hair, smile and laugh proudly, and of course she was accused of flirting or wanting to steal potential mates. Most of the time, the conversations never even came close. You remind me of Thumbelina. All tiny and shy, you wanna sing with some French parrot? They would say. In your dreams, she would say with a smile. All you're going to get is a kick in the balls if you get closer. That got them to back off. Pride, she was guessing.
Xavier still seemed very, unusally intent on something unreadable. It was like the storm was empowering him somehow, and he would turn into ... something else. Once again, the girl's thoughts were probably out of line, but something seemed to catch in Xavier's voice when he replied to Roman. No, I haven't. Not since the accident. His voice was very deep, and Lily thought she could hear some sort of Spanish accent in it. Looking at him, she realized he seemed to have some sort of superior wisdom. But of what? What was it that he knew, causing him to feel so powerful? The accident?
Xavier looked away, and walked towards Summer. Kahlilia was thankful he wasn't going to say anything else for now. She knew Roman didn't know about the prank, or the ways he had tried to scare Esmeralda and herself - well, she was his successful target. - Okay. Kahlilia agreed easily, not in any mood to argue or protest. Besides, the two of them had wondered idly of Shannon's location for the past couple of days now fruitlessly. Well, they would find her this time. Backing off again in realizing she had semi-leaned against Roman during thought, she colored a little and straightened so that she was closer to the stall again. She felt she might have apologized, but something kept her from it. She simply gave a light smile that showed the words of it and stroked Lady's nose one more time. Her eyes were glittering slightly as they did usually, neither displaying happiness nor sadness. Simply being. Where should we look for Shannon?

Roman frowned. "Right, there was another accident, wasn't there?" he muttered aloud. Glancing at Kahlilia in mild surprise when she leaned against him, he gave her shoulder a light pat before nodding. "We'll probably find her in her office, then. Come on, Lily. I figure it won't take too long to figure out which one's hers."
At an easy stride, he headed off towards the small buildings that made up the cabins. A few steps out, he glanced back at Kahlilia and raised a brow, wondering what was taking so long. Why was she so tense, anyway?
Well, he'd ask her about it when she caught up to him, and then they could go find Shannon.

During the short time, that fraction of a second, that Kahlilia leaned against Roman; there was that feeling again. It wasn't as bad or as powerful as it usually was, but instead it was like feeling ... comfortable. For some reason, her subconscious wished she could have stayed like that. Like feeling at peace somehow, like that was where one belonged or wanted to. But that would have been irrational. ... Right? However, the girl remembered that she also had to stay aware of what Esmeralda had told her. If she came on too strong it was very possible that the trust they had built would shatter into tiny pieces. No, there was no way she wanted to end their friendship. No matter what her heart was whispering ...
It was about five seconds after Roman had walked away that Kahlilia realized she was thinking too much again. Coloring slightly, she caught up with him quickly and this time apologized in words. Two words, three syllables, said quickly but sincerely as the color drained away in the darkness of the clouds. There was a brief snippet of wondering what time it was, but Lily figured it was afternoon or something like that. So it seemed.
As the two of them came closer to the location of the cabins, Lily looked out of the corner of her eye at Xavier's. Maybe he had finally caught on to the trick, that was probably why he had given them such a menancing look. Then again, how would he know it was them? Kahlilia thought about how close Xavier had come to seeing them, and she wondered if he actually had. God, they would be in a lot of trouble then. The girl wondered briefly where Esmeralda was. It was steadily raining as they continued to walk, getting them wet for about the third time that day. Lily didn't mind it, but she was nevertheless mindful of it. I wonder what Shannon will think, she thought again as she remembered how many things they had thought about telling her. Last she had seen the woman, she had just drove up to the ranch and gave her full name. Well, it was possible she was making phone calls. Two accidents in less than a week, that ought to bring up a lot of that.
After being quiet besides her apology, she added, That guy scares me. I used to go to school with him and hes ... Lily shook her head. Technically, she hadn't gone to the exact school as he had but she'd seen people with similiar personalities. Lots of them. Got suspended for a week once, a fight or something. Ycech. At the last word [sound] she spoke, she shook her head again so that it wouldn't stick. In truth, she was talking about the guy that had called her a slut after she laughed at him. She figured Xavier wasn't much different, assuming it by the similiarities in their actions.

Roman glanced curiously back at Kahlilia when at last she caught up to him and apologized. "Don't worry," he said easily. "Something wrong? You looked like you were off in the clouds for a minute or two there."
Of course, he wouldn't know, since he had been too. When Kahlilia had been leaning against him, he'd gotten a flash of...something. Something he hadn't felt in longer than he could remember. But he had gotten it with her.
He fought off a brief shudder. He was in so much trouble - and he knew it. Shaking his head, he made himself focus on what she was saying. "What? That guy?" He frowned slightly. "Well, I'm sure things will be all right, Lily. If you're worried about him, just ignore him." He smiled and shrugged a bit. "It's mostly what I do."
His attention was diverted to a certain door off the main building. "Bet that's the office," he said with a nod in that direction. "Let's go ask her about bringing in the horses." Walking up to it, quietly confident, he peeked in the window and nodded to himself when he spotted Shannon. Circling around again, he knocked on the door. It was just ingrained good manners - he would no more have gone in without knocking than he would jump off a cliff in an attempt to fly.

Kahlilia looked up at Roman with a similiar expression after catching back up, but then smiled and tucked some hair behind her ear. Well, She said with a teasing glint, I think you were too.
She didn't see the little shudder just afterward, but she did see his attempt to push something off. Of course, she knew she had to be careful. Not enough to walk on eggshells, thankfully, but it wouldn't be a cake walk either. However, she didn't mention or speak of such a thing as she continued to follow him, walking just beside. When Roman mentioned ignoring Xavier to her, she thought it over. Yes, it was definitely something she could try. Even so, what happens when they approach you and theres no way of doing just that? Well, hopefully that won't happen, she thought, Hopefully. In seeing him smile, her thoughts were reassured and she returned it in response. Why was it that he had such a significant impact on her suddenly?
Just as she had done before, Lily spotted the office door about five seconds after Roman did. Still walking beside him, she stopped just behind when he knocked on the door.
