You hafta do more looking than that. rolleyes You gotta find something that's a reasonable distance, a more than reasonable price, and a nice location. 3nodding Okay, I did some looking for you and I found a place. It's an hour from Evanston, but it's got exactly what we need, it's a good price, and it looks like a great location. One of us should go there beforehand to check it out, though. 3nodding whut was wrong with teh sweet equestra place? ninja It's not a horse rental place, darling. rolleyes It's a stable for lessons. They don't do trail rides or anything.

Time & Place
It's pretty much settled that Pez is our host this year. That is, nobody has complained thus far. So it's looking pretty definite.
It'll be at his house in Evanston, IL. Another Chicago MiniCon.
As for the date, it still hasn't been discussed. These are all the weekends from mid-June to mid-August this year.

The past two years, it's been in mid-late July. It'd probably be easiest to keep it there, but we can always move it around for those who need it. So everyone should start thinking about what weekends would be best for them.
And, as we've started including a weekday in the MiniCon, because just a weekend really is too short, we have to decide whether we'd rather have a Friday to Monday MiniCon or a Thursday to Sunday MiniCon this year.

The bold things are the ones that we've done in previous years and will make a point of continuing. Everything else is either a new idea or an old idea that never got done.
Making a day trip to Greek Town is still questionable, as to what we would do down there. But if you guys like the idea, we could go for it.
Horseback riding was also in question, because of the cost. I know most of us are pretty strapped for cash, but it would be so great if we could get everyone in on it. The most likely place right now charges $25 for a 40 minute trail ride, $32 for an hour, and $61 for 2 hours. I highly doubt that we could afford 2 hours (I know I can't), but if you guys are up for this, we should talk about whether we want 40 mins or an hour.
And we need to plan the pageant, so any fun ideas for that would be helpful. I've volunteered to host the quiz game, so that will be taken care of. And I have a good murder mystery game set that, with a little work, can be modified to fit Xena.
And if you have any other activity ideas, please speak up! (Especially things that coincide with this years Miss Known World theme.)
Food
We'll be having 3 dinners, 3 breakfasts, and 2 lunches together. The first night, we're going out to eat at the Blind Faith Cafe. The 2nd night is the feast. We could also have a big brunch on the last morning and/or a picnic.
There's been a lot of talk about different Greek foods as well as other ethnic meals. Since Pez is a helpless little college boy, alone in his bachelor pad, we'll all help out with the cooking. xd If there's any good Greek dishes (or anything at all really) that you want to offer to cook at the con, just post the ingredients and he can pick them up for you, beforehand.
Transportation & Con-Goers
As always, the MegaBus is a good option. It's dirt cheap. Just be prepared for anything. Their system is riddled with hassles and mistakes.
If you aren't in MegaBus territory, trains and carpools are good too.
And we'll organize traveling groups. Even if you don't think there's any way for you to get here, just post where you're from. I'll try my hardest to find something. And you never know. There may be more Xena guilders in your area than you know. wink
ANYONE WHO'S A POTENTIAL CON-GOER, SOUND OFF! And tell me whether you can definitely go, probably, maybe, or probably not. And if anyone is bringing guests, mention them too! We need to get an idea of how many people are gonna be there.
