Oh look how fantastically excited the child was. He laughed a little nervously and took to his food at the word from Zahara. Gods help him he was going to die from a horse. What a way to go. Though then he looked a littlw worried. "Don't you know enough to ride good?..." Yup, die on a horse. But a shake of hsi head. "She's...really busy right now...we can manage..." Though his tone did say 'oh gods help me' in it. For a moment he looked to Zahara, considered asking but his look said that she'd probably say no and then throw something in his face about it. "We'll just...ride the docile ones..." Gods.

Finishing his food he slipped from the chair. "I'm going to the nursery." Because it seemed they were going to talk a bit and he didn't want to give away the secret. Though upon passing his parents room he noticed the door cracked and something else. Waslking in he toddled over to the bed, oooh mommy's bow and quiver. She musta forgot it this morning and left it out. Neat.

And she stopped midstep on her way back to the fortress as her ears twitched. "You said what now?" Turning on her heel and following after him. No she had heard him just fine, she just didn't believe what she was hearing. How could he undermind her like that? "Do tell me I didn't hear you correctly." Slightly upset tone in her voice.

Arthur nodded lightly to Isle and continued to walk along the ground, he didn't mind that Isle was trying to figure out what she was going to do for the rest of the day. But the elf grinned a tiny bit when he felt Isle nudge him, he chuckled lightly and sighed as he out his hands in his pockets. "Spoiled? I say relieved really, though once Malik resumes control I think I'll be able to take care of myself don't worry about it." Well Arthur wished that Malik took a vacation more than once every how many years? So he was happy that he was now allowed to spend his time doing things that he has taken interest in, the violin, his horse, Isle...yeah he has taken a big interest in her so what? It's not that big of a deal now is it? Arthur laughed again at Isle's comment and shook his head. "You're the reason why I've been doing things, ever since you came I've been spending my days doing a lot of fun things..." He smiled lightly at he looked at the elf. "And it's all because of you. So thanks." But he tried to hold back a giggle when she spoke of being grown up. "Hey I don't mind kissing older women but don't be that old Isle." Again he laughed a little as he gave her a small nudge, oh he was just joking around and he hoped that Isle didn't take it hard.

Oh damn. well.

"No, he's got a blade. I have had him training in teh arena whil you were out on a practice dummy. I don't let him leave the arena with it, and I keep it locked up. And before you yell and scream and get upset. He treats it with care, and he is well aware of it being a privilege."

Patting Ramoth some, brushing her down a bit.

"Which, actually, works to somethign good. he's willing to do two hour magic lessons, and his normal studies without complaint. and, he knows if he slacks off in his regular studies, he doesn't get any sword lessons. So it provides incentive to do a good job."

Please don't get upset. Piper upset was not a good thing, especially when she was in charge of the household. Last time she'd actually got one of the breakers to slap him upside the head. and that really hurt.

"Bye Malikhai!" Zykariel made a face. "Daddy, the docile ones can't go fast. I want to go fast." He didn't know enough about riding to go alone and he knew it and since Daddy didn't know enough either they would have to take someone else. Zara would have to come but he wanted her to say something.

Zahara glanced between them and felt her lips tug at the sound of her son's disgust. Boy after her own heart, she loved to go fast and the more tempestous ones were all the better. Faete was a prime example of that. But why didn't they just ask her? Piper wouldn't want to go anyway, she would be better to take them out and she could keep Sevilin from making a fool of himself and Zykariel would be able to go as fast as he liked. "If Piper's busy I could probably do it. Just make sure you give me enough notice. I'm a busy elf after all."

His violet gaze slowly turned towards his mother and he nodded. "I didn't even think of you Zara! Would you really do it?" At her nod, he broke into a wide grin and finished up his cookie. "Well there we go Daddy. We don't have to ride the docile ones. When are we going?"

"Boys need older women to teach then the ropes." Giving him a smug smil at that oen before continuing on a bit. "Nice to know I inspire pleasantries. But I don't want to eat up all of your time. After all, we all need our alone time." Shaking her head lightly as they were coming up on the fortress.

Don't scream...you know it only makes him chuckle. No, to get to Malik she knew it was the even toned laced with anger approach. "That is not the point Malik. Obviously you don't see it either. So then, I've nothing to say to you on the matter." It wasn't that he had the blade it was the principle that he had deliberately underminded her. But as she indeed said, she merely turned on her boot heel and headed inside up to her room..only to catch thier son doing something he wasn't supposed to do. "Malikhai D'vinn you know better!" Tone perhaps a little harsher than need be.

He jumped in startled fashion dropping the bow and the arrow he had been trying to nock on it as well as trying to figure out how to hold the weapon. Thus both bow and arrow clattered to the ground and he steppeda away from them as he mother had stepped forward to pick them up. He knew what she was going to say so why wait for it. Thus crossign his arms and getting that little pissy look from his father. "I'm not too little mother! You always say I'm too little!" Bring out the formalities so she would know he was upset with her. Daddy didn't think he was too little.

Sure...she had left the articles out but the boy knew not to be in their room without one of them in the first place. "If the bow is bigger than you and it's not designed that way then yes you are too little." Though she had to take a break to calm herself...being mad at Malik didn't make it right to take it out on his son. "I said no, now go to your room." Before she did something wrong.

He frowned. "Fine I can do it all on my own. I don't need you to teach me." Being huffy with her and more or less doing that fussy stomp out of room thing that children did back to his own. What was mother's problem? Obviously he was big enough, she just didn't see it so. Though he didn't go to his room, he merely toddled downstiars. "Daddy!" Not that he knew he was outside, but yelling always worked.

She jsut fought with a three year old and in someway had lost. Of course. "Of course I'm the bad guy now." Growling in her throat and then walking to the door, throwing it shut with probably too much force before returning to the desk to do paperwork. She's worried about blood and pain and arguments later. She had work to do.

"Right...go fast..." Of course his son would. Sevilin din't want to walk on a horse, let alone gallop. Though he felt a certain aspect of relief wash over him as Zahara offered to come. Merciful gods. And look the child was so happy too. "Right...good plan." And he did some calculating in his head. "Er...how about now? Are you busy now?"

"You need to finish eating first." So she was going with them. Well that was...exciting? She wasn't quite sure. Surely it couldn't be horribly bad since after all she knew them both, had lived with them both for years and it was riding, something she adored anyway.

He paused for a moment and then got out of his seat, carrying the rest of that milk and the plate of cookies over to the table his parents were at. "Well, no, but I thought you still had work to do. Is Mr. Malik gonna be upset if you drop it to go riding with me? I don't want you to get into trouble Daddy."

He nodded to Zykariel. "Yes it will be fine...I need a day to kind of not work so hat I can work." Zahara would understand that as him saying he didn't have enough energy to do mass scale runings today. Which he didn't. "I won't be in trouble." Thus taking to eating his food, finishing it up as she asked...though it did make him feel a lot better.

Arthur grinned lightly and blushed when Isle made a comment of how older women can teach young men the ropes. "Well we would have to see about that now wont we?" He pointed out with a light chuckle as the fortress appeared in their view. "Well I don't mind spending my time with you Isle, your different than anyone I've meet and I like being around you...but you're right we both do need are alone time every so often so I'll be taking my leave then after I grab something to drink in the fortress." Well he was thirsty for what happened awhile ago and rum wont quench his thirst he needed water or something, oh well he'll have to check it out once he get to the dinning hall.

Ouch. He was in big trouble. but his son's yelling got him to come back inside and seek his son, after all when Malikhai yelled, he knew it. or maybe it was a bond thing. who knew.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 23, 2006 7:29 pm

Zahara frowned at that covert statement. He had been working far too much lately, hadn't he? She didn't even have to begin to guess on that front. When she wasn't around, he did things he knew she wouldn't approve of, not because he wanted to upset her or defy her wishes but because he really didn't see anything wrong with them. Like skipping meals or working twelve hours straight or missing a reverie here or there. She slanted him a look but chose once again to bite her tongue on the issue. A nice relaxing ride would be good for him if he had been working too hard.

"Okay!" Yes he was excited. He was going to get to spend time with both his parents and htey wouldn't fight because he would keep them both occupied to keep it from happening. "You'll have lots of fun Daddy and maybe we could even go down by the lake and have a picnic or just ride around and find neat stuff."

He picked up the plate and glass adn toddled his way into the kitchen dropping it off with a serf then running back. "Come on! I wanna get one of the good ones."

"Cloak and boots Zykariel. We're coming." She said it softly not really reprimanding him, more of suggesting it as she watched Sevilin finish up his food and she stood up and walked to the counter. "Do I need to take food along?"

She nodded, letting him go off. As for her? Well she was going to wander the premisis a bit. Needed to check in with Lharika anyway, seeing as well that was what she was down here for, to keep track of the girl and so on. Couldn't neglect that.
_____

And he walked up to his father, still looking all huffy and what not. "Mother still thinks I'm too little." And thus lifting his arms in the pick me up gesture. "And she's slamming doors." Which you weren't supposed to do in this house.

A look over to Zahara. "I suppose...toddler is going to want to snack." Looking to his son then, giving him a smile and petting through his hair. Oh Sevilin was dreading this...he couldn't ride at all. Now he had to do it and enjoy it at the same time. "I'm sure there are going to be plenty to go around." Getting himself up as he finished his food, leaving his plate because well, Malik had people that cleaned.

Malik looked at his son and picked him up.

"Mom's mad at me for letting you have a real sword. and what does she think your too little for now?"

She had to have caught him doing something. and slamming doors, yes she was really irrate.

"and I'll talk to mom about the doors, don't worry."

"To use a bow." But you know...bow sword it was all the same really. Besides he was big enough. "But that's okay I can do it myself." It wasn't that hard of a thing to do after all. But he merely held onto his father's shirt since he got picked up like he wanted. "Good because I'm not allowed to slam doors." Through a frown at his father. "Why'd you have to make her mad? Now she's cranky. You said you'd deal with it." Whatever he meant by that really.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 23, 2006 8:04 pm

"Yes you're probably right." She busied herself packing sandwiches and cookies into a small basket with some fruit and other little bits and pieces that the toddler would eat but could tempt the larger drow as well. It never hurt for him to eat as well. She set the basket down and went and retrieved her own cloak.

Zykariel came back into the room moments later all clad in his boots and cloak and ready to go. "Come on." He reached for his father's hand and immediately began tugging him out the door.

Zahara followed along behind him, eventually making it to the stables. "you're too young to ride by yourself so you are going to ride with your father Zykariel. You two can pick out a horse of your choosing and we'll head off." She turned back and motioned Sevilin into the stable so he could pick one as well. As she headed through after her son, heads poked out of the stalls to greet her and soft nickers filled the air. She obliged htem, patting noses here and there and letting him peruse to his heart's content. Her baby was somewhere in the middle, getting rather impatient for her to get him out already.

And he was duely tugged outside. Indeed gods help him with all of this, he didn't want to freaking die this way. But he merely leaned against the wall, looking to his son. "You can pick one out for me too Zykariel, I'm no good at picking horses." Long as it had tack he supposed...he could at least hold on that way. Bah horses. He was onviously nervous about this...very nervous.
