Chris Powell *Getting all of this out of Achilles was going much easier than expected. He didn't have to kick or insult Achilles'es manhood at all! Maybe he should be psychiatrist. And Cassie could be his secretary...and she could sit on his lap and take notes.... ... Gah...pay attention to Achilles!* Well, from I've read and seen on Dr. Who....you have to go back. The Trojan War is a fixed point in time and part of the war is you taking part and dying there. If we try to pull you out of it or try anything weird then we could collapse reality or something. But...who says that your ultimate destiny has to be death during an ancient war? I believe we make our own fate and I don't think the end of your story has to be the Trojan War. Maybe your story...and Pat's...could resume in our time. I have an idea. Cassie shot it down immediately but I think you should at least hear it out. I think it's possible to bring you and Pat back to school next year by pulling you out of the Ellison Fields. ... Elizabethan Fields? Electrocaridgram Fields? You know...Greek warrior heaven. " Elysian Fields." Achills quietly corrected, but not without the gift of a rare smile for the teenager he considered both a brother in family an brother-at-arms. He then turned to continue watching Mysia in the water. "What you are suggesting is, as they say, a stretch of the imagination. Let me ask you this; how?" He turned back and his face was a pained blend of curiousity and grief. "One does not simply walk out of Hades, no matter which piece of his realm, without express permission from the Lord of the Dead himself. Even Orpheus had to gain permission to escort his bride, and history tells us how well that turned out." Slowly, Achilles stood up and turned around to face him. "Do you remember what I did to protect the soul of Patroclus? How I worked behind Hades's back to marry in Holy Matrimony? How Athena, Zeus and Eros had my back? With such an insult at his feet, how do you intend to persuade Hades to release Patroclus and my immortal souls from his domain?" He tilted his head and quirked his brow. "I mean, not to sound arrogant but I see our joined souls as something akin to trophies to my Uncle."

Theo Altman Teddy had never been to a Victoria's secret like this before. He'd heard plenty of talk about them, but they never had weird lingerie shows. Not for women, and especially not for men. Instantly, he became suspicious that this was not a Victoria's Secret, but some weird villain hide-out, and so he grabbed Billy's hand and dragged him away from the Victoria's secret to the safe and sound department store.
There he found a pair of pannies with rainbows and unicorns, and that seemed a fitting gift from Billy. For himself, he picked out a pair of plaid. He asked the lady behind the counter to wrap it for him since it was a gift, and she nodded. The package was done up in a fancy pink bow and white paper, which wasn't exactly what he was hoping for, but it would do.
"So where were we eating again?" "Panda Express!" Billy said with enthusiasm. "When in the Food Court, Chinese fast food is a must!"
The two boys got in line at the busy section of the mall's food court and they proceeded to place their order. billy himself got the noodles with a double serving of broccoli and beef.
They then weaved their way around the crowd and found a spot against the glass windows where they had both a view as well as relative privacy so that they might talk.
Billy started to dig in when he glanced up at Teddy.
"So ... how are you? I mean, after everything? We haven't really talked and I have to admit that between when I was taken after my visit to Themyscira and when I woke up, it's kind of a blank slate."
Billy's face was marked with a genuine caring for the boy seated across from him.
"How are you doing? ... Really?"

Mr Clark J Kent :: After a while, he heard Wally call his name.::
Back here, Wally! Aw. Clark, not Lois. Oh, well. Wally zipped to the back room and grinned."Hey Clark! You're coming to Chris's party tonight, right? It's gonna be slammin'! I thought maybe the Herald could do a write-up. It's gonna be front page material!" Wally paused."Hey, do you know if, uh, Lois got the invite I texted her? I made sure to text Linda, too, so don't worry about that."

Stop it, Powell! THIS IS VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS!He got himself under control.* I get that this will be hard. I plan to petition some gods for help. But are you forgetting what I can do when I set my mind to it? I've walked through Hell and Hades. I've brought your sister back from the clutches of Ares. I've traveled back in time to find Wally. I went to another world at the behest of Zeus to find a brainwashed Cassie. I battled Sith warriors and their droid armies. I've fought shapeshifting aliens trying to invade our school. And the most difficult of all, I got your sister to date me. I can do this. The question is not if it can be done but do you want me to? Do you want a life besides war and death. A life with a family and a sister who loves you. Would you leave Heaven for that?

::Clark sighed. Wally was still under the impression that he was interested in Linda.::
I don't know what Lois has received but I don't think she would want to cover a birthday party for the paper. She wants....meatier stories. Unless something weird is going to happen.
Now, Wally, you misunderstood why Linda and I were sitting next to each other. She plans on leaving school and I was trying to get her to stay. We're not dating.
...
Would you mind having Kid Flash talk to her? Maybe she'd stay if you talked to her in costume.

"...Oh." Well, this was awkward. Wally felt kind of embarrassed, not just for the Clinda mistake, but because Clark was basically telling him Lois wasn't going to bother showing up for the party.
Then it registered that Linda was thinking about leaving school, making Wally feel even lousier. Clark pretty much just sucked all the air out of the room. Wally mumbled.
"Yeah, I'll talk to her, I guess. I mean Kid Flash will talk to her."
Without another word, Wally dashed back to the party.

Hartley Rathaway "You know, I'm deaf. Even before the cybernetic implants, I could feel music. The bass, the rhythm." Hartley gave Wallace a shove on the tire swing, not caring one jot about the six or seven 8-year olds that were now kicking the crap out of Paul McCall for trying to make them leave the playground."I don't even really need music for guys like this. Wallace, you know I think you're great, but man, in your early days, you made out with some real-" Hartley paused to punch a guy wearing a "LOVE ONLY ME, WALLACE!" shirt in the face as he crept up behind them."Losers." "Yeah, but you can hear me, so it's kind of like you're not actually deaf," Wallace said, oblivious to the fact that that was a little offensive. "Did you get Chris anything for his birthday? I guess maybe we should do that, right?" Wallace took Hartley's hand in his own, pulling him closer so he could lean against him because he was feeling kind of lazy and he didn't really want to carry all of his own weight. "When is that party anyway?"

"I'm doing fine. Honest," Teddy said, holding up his fingers like a scout. "I mean, I miss my mom a lot, and the holidays are going to be really weird...but ...I'll get used to it. I'm really lucky to have the friends I do and to be at a school that can handle this sort of thing. Mr. Wayne has been really supportive, and he checks in on me. So does Mr. Banner. All of the staff really." Teddy smiled, a smear of orange goo around his mouth that he quickly wiped away with a napkin. "There's no need to worry. If there was, I'd let you know."
His hand reached for Billy's, giving it a gentle squeeze. "How have you been? Ok and everything?"

Hartley declined to say HOW he got ahold of those precious, spongey darlings now that Hostess was going out of business. It was causing a lot of panic amongst his friends."I think it's this evening. So we have a few hours left of - excuse me-" He turned around and smacked some guy wearing a shirt with Wallace's face on it with his flute. "A few hours left of messing around till we have to go to Blackhawk's."

He tucked his hands into his pockets and looked around before returning to give Chris his full attention. He shook his head. "I do not doubt you, Christopher. Everything you said is true, in your accomplishments. However, we must also acknowledge that in each endeavor you also had friends alongside you. This time you would not, and I do not wish to see you risk your immortal soul for my own state of well being. If something were to happen to you..." He smiled. "My sister would hunt my shade down and make the Elysian Fields seem like Hell by comparison. She truly does care about you, you know." He glanced down, then looked back up. "The answer is, yes." He nodded. "I believe I would leave Heaven for what you offer. I feel Patroclus would as well, but there's something you have to consider; I would be willing -- now -- but would the Achilles of that period wish the same? The Trojan War had just begun when I came here, and I am to understand nearly ten years would pass before my time would come to cross the River Styx. A lot could change my outlook in that time. Patroclus's death. The duel with Hector. It worries me." He looked into Chris's eyes. "Does history not tell you that as I grew older, I became something akin to a blood thirsty savage hell bent on vengeance?"

Karen had been 'detained' as they put it, and questioned for quite some time. Besides a healthy dose of Karen Star bright shining attitude, she'd given little to nothing to her integrators. Specifically Ms. Marvel. Who dished out her own just the same. Finally, fed up they allowed her to call her parents.
Leaving her alone with her phone they specifically said they would release her to her parents custody, only. Of course Karen wasn't about to call her father. No. Her parents were the best people in the world and it would break their hearts to learn what's happened to their little girl. So she picked up the phone and texted the next best thing.
*TAP TAP TAP*
"Yo dweeb! I need a favor. So listen up. I'm at the holding center, I need you to come get me out... only thing is... You need to look like my dad! So hurry up and get here. I can't wait all day! Delete this message or I'll heat vision your brain into soup! Now Hurry up!!"

Well, centuries will have gone by when I get to you in the Underworld. I imagine you'll have found peace by then and come to grips with it by then. If not, we'll help you. Cassie, Wally, Dani, and I will help you.
*Chris's phone chirped and he pulled it out.*
Sorry...one second...
*Chris read Karen's text and groaned. Why was she dragging him into her crazy crap? Ugh...he should leave her to rot but unfortunately she was the weakest link and he wanted to know about this surprise party.*
Ugh. I have to go, Achilles. Karen Starr got herself in trouble and needs help that only my armor can provide. I need this like I need another hole in the head.
Listen, I have more studying to do on this but I believe that you can be sprung from the Afterlife with Pat. I'll do it over summer break because getting you out before you go back may violate some weird laws of physics that I don't know about. But...do NOT tell our friends. I don't want anyone to get their hopes up.
...
And for the love of all that is good and holy, DO NOT TELL CASSIE. She's already against this idea so no good will come of her knowing. I'll see you later.
*Chris patted Mysia and armored up. He flew towards Midvale and the address that Karen provided. He pull her bacon from the fire and then go to work on her about the party. This would be like taking candy from a baby.*

As the day waned on, Wally finished up all the tasks necessary for Chris's birthday. As classes ended and the sun began to set, students started coming to Blackhawk's.
"Sorry, kiddos. Private party tonight. 'Fraid you'll just have to endure Jughead Jones' failmilkshakes at That Fifties Diner in town." Zinda smiled as she turned away kids not on the invite list. She smiled at Wallace and Hartley as they arrived.
"Head on in, kids. Party'll be startin' soon."

"What is he doing? Walking around the planet first?!" Karen harshly hisses sharply under her breath, crossing her arms over her chest.
Karen made sure to shoot daggers at Carol who was sitting calmly in front of her, she seemed to be enjoying the fact that Karen looked like she was crawling out of her skin. *Knock Knock!* A man in a military uniform who was positioned out side the room, spoke clearly, to the Avenger.
"Excuse me, Ms. Marvel. Mr. Starr is here."

*Chris landed in the alley next to the SHIELD satellite office in Midvale. Great...Chris was planning a jailbreak for Karen Starr of all people. This was going to come back and bite him in the a**. Blargh.
He quickly went to Karen's MyFace profile to see what her dad looked like. Chris studied the photo and then used his stealth armor to assume the form of Mr. Starr.*
Here goes nothing.
*Chris headed into the office and was quickly ushered to the back. After several minutes, he was led to the room that held Karen. And behind her was....CAPTAIN MARVEL! gonk Now he was lying to Avengers too! He cleared his throat.*
Karen! What have you done now, young lady?
*He was going to punish Karen for this.*
