I'm sorry puppet that hurts. I know what its life for parents and others to call you a failure. Well it's too late for me to say this now but i would've gone for it whether everyone hates you or not. Truth be told taking pride in what you like to do whether your good at it or not is something that will sit in your heart and boost you.
I was called a failure and everyone thought and wanted me dead when I joined the Marine Corps. I lived through four years of active service and fought in war multiple times. Now I have returned to find out that everyone I once knew and trusted all hate me. Most of my life has been a lie because my parents have lied to me since I was young. Both of them tried to kill me in their own way but I have taken pride in all my accomplishments, even though they are all painfull. It's why I'm alive.
Take Pride in what you do. It's not just about survival it's in making yourself love yourself. By loving yourself you don't need anyone else. Their opinions, even if they are the most dear person to you, as a negative are never good for you. Ignore them. If you think you are good you will be. If you squeak when singing work at it. Keep singing and try to improve your abilities. Eventually you will succeed. When you do you can walk back and show everyone they where wrong about you. Not to mention you learn who you are in the process.
