"True but that was before I had a child and lived with a man I had slept with more than once." Things like that had changed her and not for the better she had been thinking lately. Piper's mention of her son made her sigh and her shoulders drop. "I don't know. Maybe I should. It's clear I can't get my wishes to line up the way I want them too and I'm only causing him more and more heartache." She shook her head and rubbed a hand over her cheek. "Things are really hard right now but they will get better. This is what he wants."

Wait, so sounding like his mother was okay? Then why did Daddy always get upset when she got after him about something? "I can't help it. I bet the elves in Andal hear Zara when she starts yelling. How come you guys fight so much anyway? Because of me?" He toed the floor for a moment as he walked in and then swallowed, afraid to ask but he needed to know. "Do you wish sometimes that I hadn't come along? Or that I had a different mommy?"

She pulled a card from behind her back, carefully colored and designed. In Andal once a month Lark had a tea party and every month someone special got a personal invite. She saw no reason not to continue the tradition in the Underdark and Piper, Malik, and Malikhai had all been invited at least once. Now she wanted to invite Broog. "It's an invitation to a party. A special party Broog that only you get to come to." Handing the card over with a giggle. "Won't you come? It's going to be lots of fun."

Arthur paused for a second, uh oh he made a bad call on what Isle would of thought of his own boat, well that probably lost some points with her now didn't it? Sighing lightly he cursed himself mentally for being an idiot before wandering down the side of the boat until he got close to the water."Well thanks for saying that it took me awhile to build her, I really love this boat of mine..." Arthur paused for a moment as he checked the tide and then nodded. "Alright give me a second to raise the anchor, I came back every year or so to put new rope so the rope that was already there wouldn't rot away and snap then the tide would take the boat away." A small chuckle at this as he climbed the side and then disappeared for a little while. A moment or so passed and he returned, jumping off the side and going back to the front. "Well lets get this going." And so he rested his shoulder on the front and began to push at it though once Isle started to help the boat would be able to be placed right back in the water.

Malik grinned lightly.

"You did a fine job for your first attempt. we'll keep practicing that set, and once you learn it, we'll go to another set. You're coming along fine."

Malik rubbed his chin lightly.

"Me nad your mother were discussing your lessons. We have agreed it's going to be two hours. Do you think you can handle two hours of magic lessons, and then your normal studies?"

Broog looked at the card, scratching his head lightly. A party? and only he coudl come? and was he allowed to? hmm. deep thoughts.

"Mez tries. Not soore if Broog ish allowed to partaes. but mez will if mez canz."

"And those wishes would be what? Not that you know the answers, seeing as you won't so much as look at Sevilin right now." Hey, Piper did spend a lot of time with Zykariel too...though of course in the last week she had been working. "And things are never going to get better if you're just going to sit there and let things happen on thier own. Even if you're on the right road you're still going to get trampled if you're just sitting in the middle of it." Giving another pull of reins and counterweight...this one was determined to dump her. Had to keep an eye on him. But he had at least laid his wings down.

Well it took half a second to drop to the boy's level and take him by the shoulder's Sevilin's expression serious as could be. "No..and don't you ever think that. That thought has never crossed my mind, not since I found out about you." This boy was too keen for his own good sometimes. "And no, I don't wish you had a different mother." Because most likely he would of never known Zykariel if that was the case. Besides, he got her eyes. And for some reason that made Sevilin think the boy was way better off.

See this was why he couldn't work, his mind was preoccupied with such things. But no worries...he'd just get Malik's approval, get it done and then spend some make up time with his son and try to set some things straight in a life that seemed to be quicklying beating him around. "The fights aren't about you yourself...just what's best for you. Zahara thinks that if she's around you...she's going to make you bad, I and a few others happen to disagree."

If one knew how to move a boat, they could move one quite efficently, so it didn't take Isle and Galesen too much to get that thing right back into the water and then getting themselves into it before the water came up to high and got them far too wet past thier boots. She leaned agaisnt the side od her hip. "Alright Captain, let's begin." She wasn't going to touch his rigging without being told she could...after all, she'd expect the same out of him if they were on her boat. You just didn't do that kind of thing.

Well yay! That was as good as an absolute yes for him. And coming from daddy of course it was a good thing. Setting his blade aside on the sand as he looked to his fahter, he held to the toes of his boots as he listened. An inquisitive blink at Malik over the proposed question. Wow, that was a lot to do in one day...at least to the small child. He frowned a little, taking much the look his father would, and tilted his head in his mother's fashion. "Yes? Do I get to have a break or do I have to go do one and then the other." Not to mention that cut out sword play...sadness.

Well with both elves knowing how to get a boat out of the sand they were able to get Arthur's boat back into the water with no problem at all and were even able to get on board before getting wet. Well it felt so good to have his feet standing on a wooden plank once again, and the smell of the 'sea air' down here was calling to him again, though when he looked at Isle he smiled lightly and chuckled when she called him Captain. "You don't need to call me that you know..." A small tint of red appeared on his face but he turned away and began walking down his ship, the sound of his boots walking along the wooden boards made him feel a bit more happy. "Well lets do what we gotta do, raise the sail, get everything ready and then we hit the open water." Well with two elves now on this boat it would make for some good times and Arthur would be able to feel like his old self once again for a change.

"Aw, come now...your boat, you're the captain, Captain." Okay yes now just saying it because she got a blush out of him...it was a good thing. But merely a nod and she took to his rigging as if she had known the boat all of her life, raising sails and what not. One may of found it surprising that she could do that all by herself, but it was no feat for her...she had been doing it almost all of her life after all. It was nice when you could tell your 'crew' to do something once and it was done with no fuss or confusion. Though it was interesting to see two who were used to sailing solo try to sail together.

Again that small tiny blush that was on Arthur's face blossomed into a full rosy red blush that he couldn't help, well it was all new for him to be called Captain; after all he has sailed by himself for most of his lifetime and rarely had anyone on his boat, he was a lone sailor and that's all there is to it. But one thing that surprised him was how Isle was able to get the sail and everything done pretty quickly, well even knowing for a fact that she has been doing this for most of her life it still kind of gotten to Arthur but he was happy to see how the elf was able to manage all of the tasks. As for himself he took to the wheel, a wheel that was carved out of solid wood and hand crafted by Arthur himself, designs of his family crest and other little things were put into the wheel and once he grabbed it the elf felt a steady peace. The small groan of the boat as the water started to rock it brought a light grin to the elf's face as he looked around, they were coming out smooth and soon enough they were going to be able to set out on the waters. "A fine day to sail I say." He said with a light chuckle as he turned the wheel a bit, the boat may be bit big but Isle would be able to hear him with no problem.

Soon enough having all the ropes she needed tied off, she joined Galesen at his side, her hands clasped behind her back. She gave a giggle, her mood already proving better. "Really? So do tell then...how does one know it's a fine day to sail in the underdark?" No, really she couldn't tell herself. There was wind down here and it was a nice steady water breeze, but other than that she couldn't figure how he could. Meanwhile, her eyes roving over all the little details in the boat itself and what not.

Well after a moment or so of waiting the boat was now out on open waters and they were off without a hitch or anything to ruin their plans at all and it seemed that things would go smoothly at least. But when Isle had finally joined him at his side the elf gave a small shrug. "The wind...also the water...usually we have a person at port who would use their magic to tell us what is it like out here so we know in advance but mostly we just have to be careful of how the water 'feels' at the moment, she’s a tough one that you don't want to piss off." A light chuckle at that before turning to the elf with a small grin. "But I think you already know about that don't you?" He asked as he turned the wheel a little bit off to the right, he wanted to get them away from shore and more just into an area where all you can see is water, maybe he'll drop anchor and bring out his hammock and rest a little while.

"Not entirely sure about the break. but probably."

though he knew that glint in his eyes.

"We'll still have time for this, I promise. and you know I keep my promises, don't you."

"Looks like a bunch of just black nothingness to me...the water that is. Go any light source on you?" Should of thought of that before she came out here, but no...she had to be all excited and forgetful. But a little nod. "Yes, the wind and the water...the smell of the air, the way the surrounding enviorment is." But again she really couldn't see as well as she would normally would. Even though her elvensight gave her a good look, she wanted that plain as day clear. "And no worries, you can blame me if something goes wrong out here."

____

A little skeptical look at that. He was sure he could manipulate a break out of mommy. Not that he worked on that kind of basis usually with her...she usually figured him out first...but he knew she let him get away with certain things. Surely he could get a break before having to start a new set of lessons. Maybe even a cookie out of the deal...that he would have to work for.

But a nod and a smile to his father and he got himself up. "You never break a promise." He seemed to think a moment. "Breaking your word is one of the worst things someone can do..." Another picked up like from a parent that was parroted back. But he still got that slightly sad skeptical look once more. "But what about mommy? You said she wouldn't be happy..." He was smart enough to know that this work switch in his parents wasn't permanent.

"Well you should of expected the water to be like that when we came out Isle." Eh a late warning but whatever it doesn't matter. "Oh you still cling to the whole light huh? Give me a minute then..." And so he left her at the wheel and went into the cabin he had on the ship, minutes later he brought out all of the lanterns that use to cover the ship and went around putting them up and lighting them as well. Once he returned to Isle side he smiled as he took over the wheel. "There you go, that should give you some comfort." A small grin to her but it kind of formed into a smile when he saw the light bask on her face, she looked beautiful in this kind of light but right now he needed to concentrate. "no I wont blame you if something goes wrong Isle, I may ask you to get me another boat but I wont blame you that's for sure." Another little twist of the wheel and he nudged her a tiny bit, it felt good sailing with someone else for a change and they both needed this.

She gave him a little frown. Clinging to light? That was abusrd, she was clinging to nothing. But she bit her tongue as he went about providing some light. To which she merely walked over to one of the lanterns and drew close, letting her eyes catch the light intensity and catch that gold glow to them. "Isn't this dangerous, you know lighting yourself up?" Raising an eyebrow though secretyly thinking it wonderful that he was indeed letting his mind wander on her. "Though it is very nice...atmospehere." There we go.

"Well yes and no...if you don't put any light on there will be a good enough chance someone may crash into you but if you do you may attract the wrong attention if you don't follow the routes that are safe." Yeah that was true, if a sailor didn't stick to the routes planned out and are deemed safe then they would be screwed when sailing, there are a lot of dangers out on these waters but Arthur had managed to keep himself going strong all these years. But he laughed a little at Isle's comment and sighed happily. "If there was a fog the light would make this even better right now, but sadly there isn't one out today but this is just good enough." Yup Arthur was getting into a really good mood and with Isle by his side things could even be better, she was a sea lover just like he was and he respects her a lot for that.

Zahara pulled up her own mount and sat there for a moment thinking. She'd spent a lot of time thinking over the past week. "I want him to be happy. Both of them. I want them to have each other and do what's best for my son. And what's best is me out of the picture. I know that now Piper. It's true that I always said that in the past but now I know it's true. Sevilin and Zykariel are just fine without me and I have to come to accept that. I upset Sevilin which in turn upsets Zykariel and I won't force him to live with parents who are constantly at each other's throats." A shake of her head. "I'm just not meant for relationships and motherhood like you are Piper. Some aren't and I'm one of them." Her voice was resigned, she'd accepted her fate and the cards that she had been dealt.

He almost refused to meet those red eyes that were studying him so intently. He hadn't really wanted to voice the question but sometimes he wondered. "Okay. I don't ever wish for another daddy either Daddy so we're even. Okay?"

The rest of it though just confused him all the more. Why would she make him bad? Because sometimes he got upset and yelled like she did? Or becuase she was going to make him get that strange look in his eye, the one that she'd worn the day she'd had the sword in her hand. That scared him. He didn't want to look like that ever. "Does that mean you do like her?" He dropped his own hands on his father's shoulders and met his gaze squarely. "Do you want her to be like Miss Piper, Daddy?"

Her face fell slightly. She'd never had someone sort of accept. The others had all been happy to do so. Did Broog not like her very much? "Only maybe? Broog...why wouldn't you be able to come to a party? It's very special..."
